I agree with trying to avoid the situation a little better. Given the deep snow and thick treeline, both the people and the moose stayed their ground. The moose was traveling the easiest path just like the people. The snowmobiler's first mistake was continuing to advance on the moose after he first stopped his sled early on in the video. They continued to advance on the moose assuming the moose would spook and run away. I do also agree that there likely was not enough room to turn the sleds around once the confrontation began. Also a pertinent variable is the snowmobiler's experience with the area and moose in general. Hard to armchair quarterback when not faced with the experience first hand.

Ya and single digit highs most of this week. Lows approaching -15 again too. Winter severity index is at or near 100 now and we have all of March to go. Records are being broke this week and this will likely go down as the worst winter on record here. Winter kill deer and turkeys are beginning to be reported. I am worried about the two 5 1/2 year old bucks who survived our deer season. It would suck if mother nature takes em.

Worked with the water utility for a couple hours running a small pvc water line that jets water ahead of itself trying to thaw out the line. He has had about 50/50 luck with it. We ran 80' in and then hit an elbow or some obstruction. At 80' we were clearly out in the roadway so that is for sure where it is frozen. Guaranteed roadways are frozen below 6'. There are 30 homes froze up, all out in the road. Most are running a garden hose between houses (below the snow) for water. Keeping them running will keep it from freezing......we hope.

Our water line froze over night last night. Apparently our prolonged severe cold has really driven the frost down into the uncovered ground (roads and driveways). The water lines up here are buried 6 1/2' down typically but when they run under the driveways, the frost can get to them. The water utility is coming this afternoon as we are number 3 on his list.

I'll stick with my Grim Reapers. Long slender ferule and large cut. No steep edges and cams open nicely. 2" cut with 3 blades. Drains em like flushing a toilet.

Wisconsin has declared a state of emergency with our propane shortage. It is over $5 is many spots. A Natural Gas emergency has been diverted but most didn't know it was in jeopardy.

Season has been done for a while now. Winter is pretty brutal and we will likely have winter kill this year.....for both deer and turkey.

They are sad people. They don't have to agree with us but we must agree with them. Despicable.

I bought the Impact this fall as a secondary gun to my encore. The trigger is every bit as good as the reviews and it shoots well. I will probably get a new ram rod as the one with it is only threaded on one end but it is a great gun for the price. I paid $209.99 on sale. Couldn't pass it up.

My brother and I both shoot Mossberg Turkey Tactical 3 1/2" with either Federal or Winchester 2 1/4oz. #6s. I have started toying with Hevishot Blend 5,6,7 and boy is that a pattern. Wow.
