McChrystal's background is in clandestine ops. I don't see it as retreat, I see it as smart warfare. Yes people do die, but it is also the military's goal to minimize civilian casualties. With media reporting the way it is, commanders are forced to fight two battles. One with the enemy, and the other with public opinion of the nation being occupied. I am quite sure that when the order was given to minimize civilian casualties through retreat if nescessary, that this public view was taken into consideration. The enemy is already using civilians as cover, nothing has changed in that fact. Urban warfare is much different than just kicking in doors and opening fire. So much to think about before pulling the trigger. He didn't say NOT to fire if fired upon, he said that if civilian's were in the immediate line of fire, to "fall back" and regroup..in a nutshell. To me, that is just a little smarter. We aren't throwing in the towel, we are simply changing the way business is done in order to keep the media from portraying us as "baby killers." At least that is my take on the whole thing.

Howdy everyone from the garden state. Took a break for a while, mainly to step away from my most favorite topic of all things (politics) and let my blood pressure go back down. But, I see everyone is plugging along as usual as I should be. Hope all of you are doing well... Dan

CNN, Fox, World Net Daily, MSNBC, Yahoo News are all covering them on their websites. Fox has been doing live coverage all day long.

Then what was the point of bringing up Obama's gun ban desires in the original story. Which has changed many times, across many sites and yet somewhere in each story keeps bringing up a fear of Obama's gun ban. May not have been the full reason, but I am sure it was a player. Now, back to the original subject at hand...

Dig a hole and cover it with sticks and leaves. If you aren't feeling neighborly, put spikes in the bottom of it. Just kidding....

Sarah Palin didn't seem to think that it was too funny. I read that he made an apology to the president of the Special Olympics privately. Not that it does any good for the rest of the people he insulted.

Steve if you have Sirius, it is on Sirius Patriot. If you want to watch it, check out the NRA news website under Cam and Co.

Well, it was a great show and reminiscent of the daily attitude of people around this board. It re-airs Saturday at 9 p.m.. www.912project.com

Anyone listen to Cam and Company last night? This guy is the one who authored the $1M insurance bill in Illinois. Apparently, after speaking with some NRA members who took their complaints to him, he tabled and killed the bill. Interesting interview. Go to Cam and Co. on the NRA news website, and watch.

Friday, 5 p.m. EST, Glenn Beck will be doing a special bit and is calling on all people to join together and watch. Radio stations across the country will be sponsoring this in their respective cities at local establishments (bars, restaurants, clubs, etc.) along with the call to have home parties and such where like minded people can be with one another to rejuvenate America as its founders intended. Check this link to see the discussion topics, maybe find a local group, or start your own group to meet like minded people in your area. http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/21018/ I have to work, but I will be recording it.

All the more reason to challenge the status quo. I'm afraid to say it, but its happening because we are letting it happen. Muggs, I'm not stupid. In my original post I mentioned "other than a prospectus." Which is all that companies are required to give to the general public. I'm talking about true internal documents showing where the money is going....However, like many others here believe, it is only in a perfect world for such things to exist. Or is it? Definitely some socialistic thoughts going on there, but socialism is long term, permanent government control. I'm talking for the time that taxpayer dollars are being used to bail out big business. Would that be socialism? Or would it be being a watchdog over government/corporate spending? Either way, I know that none of this will happen as the government will not just readily hand over this stuff, nor will corporations. Even if required by law. I might be a little more forgiving should these industries make it public knowledge that the entire population will be rewarded for bailing their butts out. Such as reduced prices on cars, or other consumer goods. Now with that last statement, we could assume that the government would be "for" such an idea, but we all know what happens when we assume. This whole thing has opened (and given me a complimentary membership) to the vicious circle of thought that absolutely none of this makes any sense. It's sort of like a choose your own adventure book with no real ending, and each choice will ultimately lead you back to the beginning. Only to start all over again. The best thing to do is follow the advice of some of the smartest minds out there and push for a reboot and back to basics approach to our problems. Not sit back and enjoy the complacency of not having to worry about more than what is right in front of you, because the Messiah says "every little ting, gon be alright." This country is facing an enemy more dangerous than any situation all of the terrorist organizations in the world combined could come up with and deploy. That enemy is ourselves. If we are to keep ourselves from exploding, we must first keep ourselves from imploding. All we are doing is making the enemy's job easier.

So what do we do? The media is not untouchable people. We demonstrate against the news outlets that will not cover. It's a dog eat dog industry too. If CNN won't report, demonstrate against them and you can guarantee Fox News will be all over it. The same for everything. If you want media coverage, you have to make it worth their while also.

By Chuck Norris This letter was published in the magazine Whistleblower which I have a subscription to. It is a publication of World Net Daily, and is from November 2008. Don't know if this was posted already, but even if it was, we all need a little Chuck Norris in our lives from time to time.... http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?pageId=80577

Yes, he was definitely sick. Mentally ill sick. In fact, the lyme disease that he acquired from a tick bite attacked his brain resulting in seizures and mental illness. The man was also an avid outdoorsman according to this article... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,506886,00.html Now, should the man be crucified or should we pray for him as much as we would the pastor? The "evil" (being mental illness from lyme disease) was certainly not under his control. To me, prayers for both. Not very Christian of us to not properly identify evil and immediately crucify its carrier. Don't get me wrong, it is definitely a sad turn of events and my heartfelt prayers go out to all involved.

I've had a thought running around in my head and would like to hear some opinions because I don't know all of the facts yet and haven't organized them enough to see if they fall within the guidelines of American principles. You know, the original one's. With all of this taxpayer money bailing out industry, that would mean that the American public should have some stake in this whole mess. If you ask me, instead of just settling for a bailout and being happy that we have jobs, why shouldn't we get some sort of kickback from the profits of these companies until their debts are settled? Even if it was just on principle? Obviously, the government had a few billion just laying around to bail out these companies, so that tells me we are obviously overtaxed, and the captains of industry are certainly happy for it. But there is a whole lot of variables here in this thought that I haven't taken into account yet, so I am curious for your inputs. Another thing has crossed my mind is that these companies and their dealing should all become a matter of public record, and covered under the FOIA. I'm not talking about a shareholders report either. I'm talking internal... I know this is borderline being a proponent of government run industry, but really my thought process is more like if you need the American public to bail you out, then to some extent, you should be forthright with your dealings so the public knows what is being done with their money. Until the debt is settled and after that, you can go on your merry way of mismanagement. I would rather get a check each month from the automakers, bankers, etc. than an empty check from the government that attempts to make either political party look good. What say you?

This professor did nothing but exercise "guilty until proven innocent." I won't say it is fear either. I will say it is being uneducated in more than what is right in front of her. A typical liberal trait. Control freaks by nature. They see it, don't agree with it, and instead of thinking things through and working on a smart solution to the problem, they cry foul and hide behind "fear." The only thing they should be afraid of is people like us who will hand them their for not thinking things through and thoroughly educating themselves on the issue at hand. Which, to the best of my knowledge, is what professors are supposed to do and teach others to do.

Probably not a good idea to post that on an internet message board if you are looking to copyright it and publish it. Bad people are everywhere and someone could lay claim to it later even though it is your work. Until you can find someone to publish it, you can self publish at cafepress.com.
