  1. I'm certainly jealous. It will be quite a while before I can get my clubs out from the basement!
  2. -22 right now. Thankfully I have a job that allows me to work from home on miserable days like this.
  3. I'm afraid to see what my next public service bill is going to be.
  4. I am a big fan of Acer. My last two laptops have been from them and I have not had any problems. I'd definitely lean towards 4 gig of RAM especially with the new operating systems. If you are mostly going to be using it for research and paper writing you don't need to go crazy on HD space either.
  5. Thanks XT. We are going to go to Green Bay for white fish this year but will look to go to that part of the state next year. I'll look that guide up for when we go.
  6. Hey XT....I know your from way up north so you might be able to offer some help. My dad and I are looking at heading up to Chequamegon Bay to do some ice fishing this winter. We are a little leery of fishing the big water though. I would want to target perch and walleye so getting out into the deep water wouldn't be necessary. Would you think it is worth paying for a guide to show us around? We have all the gear so that isn't something we would need. I'm trying to justify paying a few hundred bucks for a guy to show us around versus just trying it out ourselves.
  7. Well guys my season unofficially ended yesterday without anything to show for it. I was on a doe only hunt the last 4 days and only managed to see a spike buck. Oh well that's how the chips fall sometimes. Congrats on all the deer.
  8. The one and only good thing about this blast of arctic air is that the ice fishing season has started much earlier than normal.
  9. We've had our fair share of wolves for quite a few years now. It's definitely changed the shape of hunting in our area.
  10. I hope you guys way up north did better than we did in the north central part of the state. There were hardly an deer killed in any of the camps around us. We had 10 guys hunting for a good part of the week and I bet we only saw 12-14 deer combined.
  11. I just got back from deer camp where I've been all week and didn't see a single deer. It's hard to believe that they all just disappeared like that but the predator sign has been high so I'm sure that had something to do with it. I'm hoping to get a doe in the antlerless only hunt here in a few weeks.
  12. And bundle up. It's going to be a frosty opener. Good luck to all. I'm about to head north for a nice 10 day vacation at deer camp.
  13. Well done guys. I saw a ton of deer this past weekend but nothing close enough to shoot. I saw a split tine 12 pointer for about 10 seconds that had my heart thumping. I hope to get a better look at him this weekend.
  14. My local Fleet Farm has a full line of camo and orange lingerie and always wondered why. I guess now I know.
  15. Despite crappy weather conditions I'll be hunting all weekend. Hopefully I can add to our team total. Needless to say I'm quite excited as this is the first chance I've had to hunt this fall.
  16. I spent this past weekend putting a new steel roof on our shack. We didn't have nearly enough guys but it is done. I hurt in places I totally forgot that are a part of my body. The temps are supposed to drop this week though so I'll finally get a chance to get out. Here's a pic of our handy work. It isn't perfect but it is certainly functional.

    Spammers

I definitely agree that the mods here do a great job of nuking the spammers. Seems like I must have reported 2-3 posts last week. No idea why they come in bunches like that.
  18. Between the youth hunt and the rain, it's going to be another week before I can get out. I really need to be up in a stand!
  19. Congrats on the does guys. I'm not very creative myself but the one I liked the most in the thread is Rackovery Room.
  20. Love my Wisconsin Badgers. It's hard to believe we're only a few weeks away from the opener.
  21. I wish we we're having the same problem. I can't recall the last time it rained and there's nothing in the forecast. Of course this drought has to come the first time I plant a food plot too.
  22. Skip the burlap sack and go with an old pillow case. I hear they like the softness of it.
