That is crazy but I can certainly see it happening in Illinois. The revolution is on the horizon.

This news makes me want to cry. I was just beginning to see snow patches of grass in my yard. Now they are talking 6-8" by me. I should probably put the golf clubs back in the basement.

That is absolutely hilarious. It makes me want to drive the 45 minutes to Amish country and see if I can see this live and in person.

Caddyshack. Classic comedy at it's best.

You all are some creative people and I must say I got some good laughs over most of these. I've been playing paintball for 15 years and one thing about it is that you must travel to play about 90% of the time. If you have the ability to take your equipment on the road, you have created something that most people haven't. Someone else up above mentioned this already but I think Paintball, your place or mine hits the nail on the head. It lets them know what your business is as well as where it takes place. And if you can find a way to put a picture of that girl covered in paint along with it, more power to you.

Definitely a horrible accident and I can't believe they were showing that video. I was just glad they stopped the footage short of him getting hit.

'In God we trust, all others we run through NCIC.' Amen.

They caught the 3 scumbags who did this and they are being held in jail on felony counts of mistreatment to animals. Hopefully they will spend some quality time in prison and don't just get slaps on the wrist.

Good luck and stay warm.

Currently sitting at -11 with a wind chill of -30. Days like today make me hate winter.

That's nice they want to charge me up to $25 a year for the license. I would imagine in order to get the "certification" it will be another $50 plus $10 to get fingerprinted. I think this is just the start of what the new administration is going to bring down on us.

If you shop around, you should be able to find a decent deal based on what she needs. Just be sure to get at least 2 gb of ram if it is a vista machine though. I'd get 3 just to be safe as it really uses a lot.

Need a lil help from Non-Wisconsin Deer hunters...
gzilla45 replied to Randy's topic in Deer Hunting
I'd like to see them keep the current licensing system. One buck with bow and one with a gun. I really don't think that many bucks are getting shot. It's the EAB, and all of the early and late antlerless hunts that are hurting our hunting. Too many guys are shooting as many does as they see in areas where the deer numbers aren't there to begin with. I can remember when our group got maybe 1 or 2 antlerless tags during the gun season. I get that many by myself now without having to purchase anything extra. Maybe we should go back to how it was in the past. -
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought Mr. Flacid was a strange name.

There's no doubt that we live in one of the best states as far as outdoor resources in concerned. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I read this morning on the DNR website that the deer kill was down 20% from last year. Pretty much every area was down except the south central which was slightly up. They attribute this to a harsh winter last year and that culling the doe population is helping. I think we need to start administering drug tests to these fine folks. The winter's over the last few years have been fairly tame. I really think they fail to realize what the predator population has done to deer hunting especially up north. I hunt in Lincoln county which registered 30% fewer deer from last year. That is an incredibly large difference. Ultimately if they don't figure out something, license sales are going to drop and getting young people envolved is going to suffer as well. I don't know many kids who can sit in a stand all day and not see anything. Anyone know when the DNR meetings begin? I might find myself at a few of them this year.

I was looking on the DNR website earlier and in Lincoln County where I hunt, the registration numbers were down 30% from last year. And that certainly isn't from a lack of hunters in the woods. They also had an article about how bad the winter was last year and are blaming it on that. Maybe it's time to start hunting out of state.

I really think a lot of this is determined by where in the state you hunt. Everyone I know that hunts the northern half of the state really struggled this year. I think a lot of this is tied to the overpopulation of wolves and bears. Add to it the fact that a good chunk of the DMU's have been herd control the last couple of years and all that equals a much smaller deer population. Maybe if the DNR would count deer outside of the Madison area, they might have a clue as to how many deer there actually are in the state. Maybe the DNR will realize this after license sales drop next year.

It's good to see someone shooting bucks in the state. There are 4 deer camps by us and between all of us, I think only about 12 deer were killed. A guy down the road saw that many wolves. I have a feeling that next year is going to be way worse though. Who appoints the DNR people? They all need to be fired as the numbers of deer are now where near what they think and the predator numbers are much higher as well.

I'm heading up north to my deer camp a little early for some "mental preparations." Good luck to everyone and hopefully we'll have some good stories and pictures to show off.

I think I've checked my pile of gear about 4 times now tonight. This is getting ridiculous.

Thank God today and tomorrow are busy days for me at work. I can't wait to get up to the shack tomorrow night and let the fun and festivities begin. I'm more of a backstrap hunter myself but I have seen a decent 8 while bow hunting and I'd love to have a date with him and my .270.

I had a doe walk up to about 5 yards from my ground blind last weekend. It's been up for a few weeks and they know it is there but it doesn't seem to bother them. For a minute I thought she was going to stick her head in the window.

I took the trigger assembly apart as much as I could and it is still stuck. I'm just going to bring it to my friendly local gun smith. Thanks for the idea.

I recently purchased a Knight Wolverine and shot it fine for the month or so. I went to use it this weekend and the sear (at least that is what I think it is called) is stuck down and I can't keep the bolt back. The trigger and safety don't seem to be working either. Has anyone had this happen before or possibly know what is causing it?

Must be nice to see 107 deer in one block...I think we have that many in the whole entire county!
