  1. I'm scratching my head on this one as well. Maybe they are making up for not giving him the olympics.
  2. Packers 24 Vi-queens 21 Favre throws a pick 6 to Woodson and the defense holds off Peterson at the end of the game.
  3. This seems to me to be a blatant disregard of our First Amendment right. Let's hope the justices realize this as well. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't watch hunting and fishing shows.
  4. I also hunt out of the Ameristep line of blinds and haven't had any issues with them. They definitely help to keep the wind down and outside of a down pour, they do keep you mostly dry.
  5. Excellent post. That farmer sure knew what he was talking about. I'm thinking of forwarding this to my congressmen.
  6. You can get a surplus CZ 82/83 for around $200. I absolutely love mine. Like someone said before, whatever you buy make sure you practice with it.
  7. I think I'd be lost without my BlackBerry. I have a bundled package through Sprint and I'm not paying that much for the everything package. I guess it depends upon what carriers you have in your area.
  8. Congrats on the bear. If all goes well i'll finally get my shot next year.
  9. I would have to agree with the prior post about being more concerned about wolves than the bears. We have relatively good populations of both in and around my land and I've had encounters with both. I purchased my 9mm shortly after being followed out of the woods by a small pack of wolves while bow hunting last year. It was definitely an uneasy feeling. I chose the 9mm due to a higher ammo capacity and with good quality ammo, should offer a good defense against either species. The big thing is to choose something you are comfortable with and to practice with it a lot. Practice will lead to greater safety which is the most important thing.
  10. I like this but I think they should have to take hunter safety first. Granted they should be with a responsible hunter but there is so much they can learn from the course that i think it should be mandatory. I started hitting the woods with my grandpa/uncles when I was 11 to learn the important tools of patience and observation. You can't learn these things in the classroom and they are so important to hunting. The more a beginner can experience before they get their license and are able to hunt by themselves, the more successful and safe they will be.
  11. Mmmm...bean with bacon soup. I like adding hot dogs or other types of sausage for added goodness. Might have to stop at the store tonight and get some now.
  12. My neighbor across the street has been live trapping them and moving them to some woods he owns. I think he has removed 9 of them and it hasn't made a dent in the population. I'm going to put a couple rat traps up there and see what happens. I need to spend some time up on the roof this weekend figuring out where the little buggars are getting in. Thanks for all the ideas everyone.
  13. Does anyone have any good ideas about how to get rid of squirrels that have found their way into my attic? I'm wondering if mouse poison or rat traps will do the trick? It sounds like they are running a circus up there and it is getting really annoying. I haven't found the hole where they are getting in yet and I think they are really only up there at night as that is the only time I hear them. I can't really blast them out of my yard as I'm in the city limits although I'm getting to the point where I just might start shooting them.

    Any questions?

It's amazing how true that is.
  15. The buck was shot Sunday night near Fond du Lac which is in the eastern part of the state. The inside spread is 20 1/2 inches and dressed out at 225 lbs. They are estimating it to be between 4.5 - 5 years. The state record non-typical is 233.
  16. I heard about this buck being killed this morning while listening to the radio and I'm glad you posted pics of it. Wow that is huge.
  17. Thanks for posting this wooly. I just made this for the first time ever. I used elk, corn and cheesy potatoes. Darn if it isn't delicious and super easy to make. I found drizzling a little barbecue sauce on the plate first adds a little something to it. Time to go back for plate 2.
  18. The fact that it is giving you the famous blue screen while loading in safeboot is a bad sign. I would recommend googling the error message that you get as it could be caused by numerous problems.

    Big news!!!!!

Now if this would only be allowed in Wisconsin.....
  20. I use a 12 guage for all of my small game hunting but that is the only type I have. I use either a skeet or improved cylinder chocke tube depending upon what gun I'm using. When the leaves are still on the trees I use a 7.8 or 8 shot and later in the year I switch to 6 when the canopy opens up a bit and I can get longer shots. Hopefully you can find some decent places to hunt them. They are definitely my favorite bird to hunt. I don't hunt with a dog and there is nothing like a bird exploding out of the brush at 5 feet. It gets the heard pounding for sure.
  21. I cook mine about 4-5 hours in a crock pot with a little onion soup mix and cream of mushroom soup. Excellent over mashed taters.
  22. Only 20 days until grouse season opens up. I absolutely can't wait. Going to try to get out and shoot some clays this weekend to get ready for the season. Anybody on here hunt them much?
  23. I'm more than overdue for a new bow. I keep going and looking at them but have yet to pull the trigger and get one. If I only had a money tree in the backyard!?!?
  24. Wow. Now that is an interesting video.
