  1. The Hunter Cam Cradle is the way to go if you have a full sized camera (GL2 or bigger) I shoot a DVX100 and it is the cat's a$$ for that camera.............if you are shooting a smaller consumer cam, try the Pine Ridge arm, buy two and put them together, you will have more than enough length then! The Hunter Cam Cradle can be purchased @ www.southernoutdoorproducts.com
  2. I had every intention of spot and stalk and killing them either from the boat or shore with my Mathews........well after seeing how thick the Duck seed was on the waters surface and the fact that gators in La rarely let themselves be seen on the shore, we elected to run bait lines that we baited with chicken quaters let to sit in the sun for a few days to ripen! We also chummed the water around the bait with blood from rotten duck breast.........out of 5 bait lines we had 4 gators on in less than 24 hours. My buddy Steve aquired a new nickname: "Master Gator Baiter"! We had only 2 tags ,so two were catch and release .......got some awesome footage and meat and a great trophy for da wall! Some pics:
  3. Just got back this morning..............killed two! One was a 7'10" and the other was a hoss!!!!! 11'2"! Will post up some pics. when i get settled in here,we also got some excellent footage........thanks for all the advice!
  4. I have used mine for bear hunting deer and turkey hunts............works awesome and the wind doesn't bother it.........besides if it is windy the skeeters generally aren't out.
  5. Mid 130's Nice one,but as was said before if you pass on him this year he might be a true giant in the next two years.
  6. Nice speed goat.........congrats!!!!!!!
  7. Our season in Wi. opens the 15th of Sept...........no velvet bucks for me.
  8. I would also guess it is a tuning problem...............you probably should find a reputable pro-shop that can help you tune it. Good luck!
  9. Excellent pics!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are you at , I see you had frost already????????????????
  10. Cool.........I have two coming my way.
  11. If your looking for a good consumer camera, check out the 3ccd panasonics, most can be found for less than 700 bucks and the pic. quality is excellent for a consumer camera......If going pro-sumer the pd 170 is the best low light model ,but it's pricey, and the lcd screen is not overly big.........if you are self filming look at the panasonic dvx100b it has a large lcd(3.5") and shoots broadcast quality film.
  12. Yeah that would be cool..........I actually just started using him this year as my proshop......I knew he had it but hadn't gotten a chance to shoot it yet.
  13. 152 gross...........looks to be at least a 4 year old........I would be burying the pin and letting fly on him this year! Nice pics. I like the background on that little guy too pretty cool.
  14. Ok,I'll rephrase ...............Has anyone hunted Alligators with a bow?? I hope to have some good footage to post in a month or so.......sounds like we will have at least two if not three cameras rolling,so at least one of them should capture all the action.
  15. Looks good...........should blend in real well with your hunting terrain.
  16. Mid 120's and I would pass on him this year, and if there are only 4 of you hunting this spot ask your buddies if they would do the same.
  17. One trick I learned when hunting a couple years ago........instead of putting the fryer grease in with the bait, make a small depression in the ground next to the bait. That way when the bear walks through it it trails the grease through the woods and attracts other bears to your bait.
  18. I feel if it is legal and ethical than by all means do it.........that being said I do not bait for deer and never would. where I hunt I find it more interesting to scout for sign and figure out travel routes and staging areas than to dump a pile of corn or apples and sit over it til a yearling walks in to get shot. Not only do I believe it is possible to spread certain disease through concentrated feeding/baiting but i think it is detrimental to hunters as it causes most mature deer to go nocturnal.....................but to each his/her own.
