  1. I have to agree, what does it matter...........Hoyt sponsored them in the past, now PSE comes in with an offer to build a bow with the Drury name on it, win-win for both companies. Their pro-staffers are shooting the current X Force model this year and will no doubt be upgraded to the new drury bow next. Most if not all outdoor companies have sponsors, without them it would be next to impossible for them to produce shows and videos..........just part of the biz.
  2. Great buck ! Congrats to him.............what county?
  3. I would say low 140's............nice buck..........can't tell age from the pic. though.
  4. Might be a dumb question, but i can't figure out how to edit my posts???????? Any suggestions?
  5. I practice out to 60 yards...........but would never be comfortable shooting at deer at that range unless everything was perfect.........and we all know how often perfect happens in the deer woods! Nice buck!
  6. Congrats on the buck! Way to stay persistant and find him!
  7. Close call...........glad you got her............next time I would wait til morning on a suspected gut shot.
  8. We baited them with rotten chicken quarters on a BIG hook, hung 15-20 inches above the water. Once the gator was on the line we were able to pull him up and get some arrows in him.........I put a fish arrow with a float attached in him in case the main line would break,we would be able to track him and pull him up.
  9. Any Panasonic 3CCD with a high OPTICAL zoom lens.........digital zoom is worthless so don't let that be a deciding factor.........also mini-dv is the way to go , mini dvd is very time consuming to get captured for editing..........hard drive might be an option, but I would not recommend it for a camera in the $1000 or less range..........I have used a Panasonic gs120 the past two seasons and had great results with it..........I recently upgraded to a Panasonic DVX100 which is a pro-sumer camera and the picture quality is great, but the price tag is way over $1000:)......... If your interested some of the GS120 footage can be veiwed on my website: http://www.pronghornproduction.com/
  10. I would bet you'll find her where she last bedded before you backed out.........sounds like you hit the facing lung and exited just behind the liver.......I would also suspect the exit hole plugged and that is why she had little blood leaking........as long as nothing bumps her I 'm sure you'll find her........BTW I would go earlier in the am if you can........gets kinda warm by 10:30. I just re-read your post, your not going out after her tonite are you? If you hit gut you need to wait no less than 8 hours or risk bumping her and not finding her!
  11. Congrats!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see the pics!
  12. I have no problem with EAB in areas where it is needed.........I too hunt in the middle of the eradication zone, but have no problems shooting at least 2 or more baldies a year, however I have heard of other areas in the zone where almost all deer are gone (they should not be EAB)...........the only problem I have with EAB is that the rules should be changed to DOE only ,not antlerless..........too many nubbin bucks get killed every year either by accident or intentionally because they qualify as an antlerless deer......if the rule was changed and a nubby didn't qualify you for a buck tag I think less buck fawns would get whacked every year. Just my opinion
  13. Gross in the 170's.................good tine length............as for the age, unless you can get a broadside pic of him it will be almost impossible to tell.
  14. Congrats................I would also like to see some of the footage.
  15. Here's an old doe I took back on the 21st in Wi. It was the first time I have hunted this season: Here's a link to the video: http://www.pronghornproduction.com/ It's the clip of the month towards the bottom of the page.
  16. Congrats!!!!!!!! Super buck!!!!!!!
  17. Awesome buck! Congrats to your buddy!!!!!!!
  18. Here is a video clip from last fridays hunt.............enjoy!
  19. Well let's just say the name "stumpy" was thrown around alot! Glad it didn't come to fruition! Thanks for all the kind words folks.
  20. Have had real good luck in late oct. early nov. with the can..........hit or miss in the early season, basically I would just use a grunt call in the early season , not the can. BTW the HS tru talker is my favorite grunt tube.......it can also produce some realistic bleats.
  21. I use the ameri-step powerhouse for bowhunting.........it has ample room to draw and also house all of my camera gear, it is also very easy to take down and move...........sit on a double bull blind chair.
  22. I have not had time to do a final edit of the hunt, but here is a rough cut to give you a taste of my hunt:
  23. When choosing a camera, stay away from models that boast high DIGITAL zoom......OPTICAL is what you want, because as soon as you start multipling the zoom in digital picture quality suffers. When dealing with consumer cameras look into a camera with a 3ccd imaging system,Panasonic makes some real good ones for under $1000........and don't get roped into mini DVD or Hard Drive cameras.......mini dv format is what you want for the best compatibility and easy of editing.
