last year they took a camera from me and a stand. The stand they took down and removed the bottom 4 steps. left the other steps, my drop cord, my ezhanger. Year before in a different place they took my stand and my steps. no respect for other peoples property

I got one about that size on my wall 115 -120

CLRJ, how many deer are then wanting out? Limit is 6 per license. Sounds like it could be some really good hunting. I Can't wait to hear what you think of that property. I say get out there and find out whether or not there are any food sources near by, farm fields or something. The deer might use the pen as a bedding area. All the tips sound good.

I own a black hole target. My buddy just bought a block from gander mountain. Might even be Gander's brand. BUT, Compared to my black hole, which is difficult to get the carbons out of for some reason. The block is effortless.

when you go to scout that area, look to see if there are any escape routes out of the median woods that go under the road. Could be the escape route that he uses and you could set up a easy drive with that escape route covered by you.

First thing I think I would do is go back to the pro shop that you bought your matthews at and ask them if they could help you getting it set up properly. Let them know that you are new to bow hunting and would like help getting the bow ready to shoot so that you feel confident in your bow. If you just dropped 500-800 dollars in their shop they should be more then happy to help you getting your bow shooting well. Might be you just need to figure out were your anchor points are and shoot shoot shoot. concentrating on form and anchor points is the part that new shooters seem to forget. also having a peep site in your string should help. Makes shooting a compound bow a little more like a rifle.

I had to move might rest over to get it to line up with everything else on the bow. I have also had to move my site back Left, which was something that I was worried about. How is it shooting? Well yesterday by the end of the day my buddy and I each shot within 2" of a tomato pinned to the block. Not that great if it was at 30 yards, but the block was set out at 70 yards. I would say I'm getting pretty dialed in. Thanks for all the suggestions. phil

Sounds like a stock music riff. you can buy music that is pretty much made for adding to video. I don't think that it is anything that you would be able to just look up online. It is probably something like Rock Riff #49

The string that I put on was from Bucknasty. So I figured being built under pressure it would take less time to get it "shot in" I shoot right handed. Left hand on the bow riser, right hand on the release. The site it self has a level on it so I don't think that I'm leaning right or left. I guess I will have to get to a proshop and see what they think.

Over the past 4 months, I have taken my bow (a Hoyt MagnaTec zr200) and basically stripped everything that has been on it for the last 4 years. I put a Whisker biscuit on it last year before season and it shot great. This past few months I put on a new string, a meta Peep, and a G5 Optix ME site. Since then I can't seem to get my bow to shoot decent. I'm kinda confused. I know that you chase the arrow when you are getting it sited in. Here is the problem. I have adjusted my site over as far to the right as it will go and it is still shooting 6" right of the center dot. I don't understand what it is that I did to get this so far off from what it was doing 6 months ago before all my new equipment went on. I'm still shooting good groups, they just aren't flying where they are aimed and I don't have any more adjustments that I can figure out. Also, I can't seem to keep the meta peep in proper rotation either.

I got a Biztenburger at Gander mountain yesterday for 59.99 all white blazers are on the arrows now. So I guess I can add a check to one of my wishes. Only 3 more to go.

I want a fletcher. Probably will happen since I have one arrow that doesn't need new vanes right now. Maybe a STS, and I still want my alpha shox. would 140 class deer be a terrible wish?

Well well, my string arrived, and I went to Gander Mountain and had that installed. Also had my 1/4" meta peep put in and a pair of string leachs. So first time shoot my bow with the new string it is 4" High and 8" or so right.I started adjusting my site and it is really close up and down, but I am still 2 inches right and I have moved my site as far to the right that I can. So, any suggestions for something to use as a spacer so that the sight can move back left. I can't even see the entire ring of the sight, like 3/4 of it. the other 1/4 is behind my riser.

I have found that watching the videos has helped me with buck fever. It allows me to see different shooting angles. It gets me excited for the new season. Not sure if anyone else does this, but I will get my bow out and clip in and draw and hold on the deer in the videos on the tv. Site me top pin on the kill zone. It gives you the oportunity to decide where you would shoot that deer. Gets me used to seeing moving deer in my sight picture. Might be silly, but I find that it make me very comfortable in my shot placement. As I've already drawn back on video of a deer quartering to or away. I've also gone to shops that have video ranges. You screw in a matching blunt point that they normally provide and stand 20 yards back and as the video plays, you shoot the tarp that the video is shot on. then the computer shows were you hit and if it was a 8 ring, 10 ring etc. Again, practicing on video of living animals. Kinda nice to use.

I was at Gander Mountain last night and found the Meta Peeps, I decided to get the 1/4" Now I'm just waiting on the string and need to get the Alpha Shox. Never know, might get a STS too.

How big does your buck have to be for you to mount him?
kingfisherfd2 replied to gobblerroller's topic in Deer Hunting
I have both the bucks that I have killed mounted. The first was an 9 pt. But he only scored around 119. Second one is my avatar. It is in full velvet. I felt that made it worth while. I don't feel like I would shoot anything smaller then either of these deer. I'm pretty much done hunting after bow season ends. I will still go out with my bow on occasion during gun season. I only have room in the freezer for one deer so I try to make sure it is also one that I would feel comfortable mounting. -
Finally sent an email off to Bucknasty this morning. Tan/Black and Green/Black string with Green serving and tan loop material. Decided that I'm going to match my G5 ME up with a Meta Peep too. Now I need to figure out what size Meta Peep that I want to shoot. My current peep is 1/4". Would anyone be able to tell me the reason I would want to go down to the 3/16". Would it improve my accuracy? Does it force you to have a smaller site picture? Ready to get that new string and start shooting again. I didn't want to site the bow in with the new site until I get the new string on the bow. No sense in doing it all over again when I get the custom one.

I have a reflex Bighorn. It was the first bow that I bought. It has a little click that is there after I shoot on the next draw. I upgraded last year to a hoyt.

Went out yesterday with my best friend. Wandered and called but got nothing. Get back and about 5 oclock I get a call. My best friend was pulling out of his drive and had a jake eating gravel in it. So he back up got his shotgun, snuck into the woods and called a little bit. In comes the Jake and off goes the shotgun. 4+ hours walking the woods and he gets one 100yards from the front door. Typical.

How many deer have you shot with a bow, recovered, and legally tagged?
kingfisherfd2 replied to fly's topic in Bowhunting
Bow hunting exclusively for the last 6 years. 3 years of that I have not had property. So say 3 years and 2 bucks. first one was a 115 class 8 point. second was my deer from this past season. I've rough scored him on the boone and crocket as a non typical at 127 4/8 why they don't say 1/2 I don't know. It is an 8 point with the left side drop coming in at 1.25" Next year is looking better already. -
I got my sight in the mail yesterday. Put it on this morning. G5 has some sweet optix. The pins are really bright. I need to call and get my string ordered. No more waiting around on the friends whom are dragging their feet and not making decisions.
-
Is the use of wraps just to add decoration to your arrows? Do they serve any other purpose?
-
I just ordered the Optix ME sight. I would probably get a Meta Peep if they had them in other anodized finishes. Would like a Green one.

Looks like some rabbit stew was going to be on the menu. Looks like a fun day of running the beagles.
