Amazing....but then again, I am just a small minded redneck that just doesn't understand the complexity of such an issue. I feel like I am laughed at by those I pay for entitlement programs for, laughed at by our enemies, as we cater to their needs (Cordoba Trophy), and laughed at by my Queen Obama as I pay for her vacations. I'll just keep plugging away though, keeping 40% of my own salary still sounds better than losing dignity.

You are correct, they pay for the vacation portion of these trips out of pocket. However, the jet and protective service they use ( this trip valued close to 180k) is out of mine and your's wallet. Not to mention 8 vacations looks bad when the country is struggling regardless of who is paying. Just like when BP CEO took heat for going on his yacht during the gulf issue, which I'm sure wad paid out of his pocket. So if she feels she must take vacations, at least do it where it affects our economy and not Spains. This could uplift or "stimulate" a small community just by visiting. Then again, our cities are not progressive enough. As for we elected Barak and not his family, not at this level. It is a package deal.

"As the Chicago Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet reports, by the end of the summer, the first lady will have taken eight vacations." Glad we could offer such a lifestyle for our queen. Our public officials (who work for us) and their families sure are making some tough sacrifices during these times. Not sure I have ever been on 8 vacations in my life...

USA may be 2nd in GDP but that doesn't necessarily translate into endless liberty and economic success forever. I'm not a doomsdayer, but I do know we are not as stable as we like to think we are.

"The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through this sequence. From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance, from abundance to complacency; from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back into bondage." -Professor Joseph Olson

I agree with the post saying this is the best country in the world. In comparison, we live a dream. However, our freedom is not guaranteed by any means. Unlike the toad that didn’t notice his water was slowly coming to boil until it was too late, we as Americans need to stay vigilant and not only look out for foreign enemies destroying the framework of America but also our own citizens and leaders. Some have good intentions, others know exactly what they doing unfortunately. I wouldn’t say America is over, but hopefully all the issues you mentioned on this post can be used as a wakeup call. As I pilot, I read many accident reports. Not because I am morbid but because I want to know what not to do. Look at world history, most collapse came from common themes.

Bow season just ended here this week. I passed on a few spikes and does and was looking forward to next week's muzzleloader season, which has always been a great time to find a nice buck in the past. Assuming I would not hunt for a week was disappointing but then came along a fellow realtree forum user inviting me to Georgia for a hunt. We hunted Friday night through Sat night. No movement Friday. A doe was shot Sat morning. Then, on Saturday nite, a six point walked out about 5pm. I watched him feed about thirty yards away (8 points or better at this club) and finally watched him disappear into the thick stuff. 6:30 came and I caught movement of a big doe working down towards me. I told my buddy on a text I was gonna watch her until she got ready to disappear and take her. About that time, an 8 point came trotting across the opening with his head down, running at the doe. I knew they both would be gone in a matter of seconds so I threw up my old 30-30 and made my first ever running shot. He fell down in a swamp about a 100 yards out! What a great hunt I wasn't even expecting!

Some of us don’t wait for a politician to change our lives, we take it upon ourselves. Anytime you count on another human to fix your problems, you will surely be let down. How about we start with the 300+ million people in this country fixing our own problems individually? As for your comment on "start some actual growth", did we become the most powerful country in history without growing in the past? Unless you truly believe this man is the messiah, I wouldn't get your hopes too high based on information you got during a media obsessed campaign.

I don't think it is nuts to think that. Everyone, including conservatives, are trying to stay politically correct and don’t want to come across as some crazed right wing fanatic. They are scared to question our government (which seemed ever so popular to do in Bush's terms) because they may even be tagged a racist. This is way beyond that. We used to take extreme measures to protect our rights from the ever so powerful government. Now we have a wait and see attitude which will eventually be the downfall of us. Obama using our lands as collateral does not sound that extreme to me at all. We will know for sure once it is too late though. Stand up for what is right! Question everything! Don’t worry about labels put on you, your opposition sure doesn’t worry about being crazed liberals!

Skunked!! Oh well, still had a good time on my trip and got 3 deer this year all together. Cant complain too much!

I am heading to Alabama tomorrow to catch that late season rut! Myself and two best buds plan on sitting in stands non stop until Saturday. I have already heard of bucks running with their noses to the ground and their brains elsewhere up there so I am feeling pretty positive! Its supposed to get real cold too so I think they will be moving. Hopefully my post next week will include some photos!

I was wondering why there was no movement! I had just crossed a canal that filled my boots up so maybe that got rid of some of my odor!

Here is a photo I took just 4 days ago in my treestand. Yes in December! I had to take my boots off for just a bit cause it was so hot!

Thanks for the great link! Do you know of any other WMAs in Alabama that I might want to try?

I am planning a trip up to my moms in mid January to the Pensacola area of FL. I wanted to drive up and hunt a WMA in Alabama and heard Barbour County WMA is a great one. Can anyone give me advice or let me know if this is even a place I could get access to? I was basically going to speed scout an area and hunt for 2 or three days. I heard does and one buck are legal to take. Is this true? Any local knowledge would be helpfull. Anywhere I should check out or stay away from etc... Thanks in advance!

At least I know I voted based on pure issues rather than emotion, race, fanfair, free hand outs, empty vague promises, white guilt, or good old fasion "jump on the bandwagon" reasons! Watching this celebration right now, I feel like I am watching some liberal European counrty the way people are acting. Oh wait, we are now more liberal than those countries!

Happy Birthday!! I went out fishing on my 21st and have no regrets...

Ive been spoiled by my new Lone Wolf climber this year! Couldnt imagine being without it now.

Its been a pretty active year for me so far. I hunt just north of Daytona in Flagler County. I killed a spike during archery (lost a doe) and just killed another spike on another piece of land on Tuesday of this week with the muzzleloader. I have seen at least 20 deer while on stand including two nice shooter bucks. Keep after them, I think it will be a relatively cold early winter for us and I have seen alot of movement in the past on the coldest days, rutting or not.

I went out this afternoon to a little piece of property by my house and got lucky with the muzzleloader. This is a place that is being bulldozed for a new housing developement so I decided I would take anything that had horns tonight. I watched this guy for a little while waiting for something bigger but right before dark, I took the shot. I just got done butchering him and he offered up some good meat! Ok, I said this before, but now I will wait for a trophy!

Got to see and hear the veteran this morning in my home town! My dad got to speak and shake hands with him. Cool morning with lots of like-minded folks!

Thats too awesome! I will be looking to watch that show for sure! Sounds like my kind of show I could get into.

Why would we be attacked or tested? The Messiah (Obama) is supposed to bring peace and love and mend all the bad things America represents. After all, I am yet to hear him mention one positive thing about our country.
