Not so young, My fiance has just happened to be out of the state for job training since the start of bow season! This means no "honey do list"!

Just kidding! Yesterday while sitting in my stand I realized why bowhunting is so fun. I listed no less than 13 challenges to getting a deer with a bow. Add more if you can think of some. This is why I love bowhunting:) 1. You have to find good hunting property. 2. Must locate a core area for bucks. 3. Find a tree that will offer cover but still offer shots. 4. Enter stand when weather and wind is perfect. 5. Make zero noise as you set up. 6. Hope to see deer movement. 7. Hope that deer movement is within 40 yards or so. 8. Make sure deer that is moving has shootable rack. 9. Hope deer gives somewhat of a broadside shot. 10. Make sure you make good shot. 11. Hope deer does not duck arrow. 12. Find blood trail. 13. Hope blood trail actually leads you to your kill!

I love my Lone Wolf. A little pricey and probably not the most comfortable on the market but not uncomfortable either. Takes about 2 minutes to take off tree and have back in "backback" configuration without making any noise. No pins to lose, uses a cam lock system to adjust tree straps. Folds down to briefcase size to carry and dosnt catch on every branch on the way out! Super light weight. Depends on what you look for in a stand, comfort, noise, weight, mobility, ect...

I posted this under the muzzleloader page but it wasnt getting too many views...Anyone feel they can answer this? Thanks in advance!! "I have only used my muzzlelaoder a handfull of times. I have a rather inexpensive Traditions inline and have only used powder in the past. I just purchased the pellets in 50 gr increments. I plan on using two of them @ 100 gr. I noticed on the breech plug, facing the muzzle end of the gun, there is an indention or "cup" where the powder surely settles down into. Now that I will be using pellets, there will be a gap in that spot where the powder would have filled. Do I need a different plug or is this gap fine? Like I said, I am new to this so if I need to explain differently or am using wrong "lingo", please let me know!"

I have been building my resume over the last few years in a direction that will hopefully allow me to enter into the hunting/outdoor industry as a marketer or manufacturing rep. This year, the famous "Shot Show" is going to be here in my back yard. All of the research I have done has shown me that you must already be in the industry to attend this trade show! I would really like to take advantage of this being so close to home. I want to take the opportunity to meet some new friends and make some future contacts. If anyone who post on here has any advice or connections that may help me out, please reach out to me! Growing up in Florida, it has been hard to make contacts with folks in the hunting industry outside of forums such as this one.

I haven't had a shot at anything yet with the Rage 2's but felt a little more confident tonight when the light was fading knowing that I would have a good blood trail if a last minute shot offered itself.

My local gas station sells their coffee cups with either Obama or McCain options and then they keep count who sells more. McCain is winning by far! I do live by a bunch of those gun clinging religous type though! A few of them even make over 200k, imagine that...

Bowhunted for 7 years now, biggest buck, 8 point with 19" inside spread. Just made it over 100 score. Not bad for FL though!

I have been using the new G5 Tekans so far this year and have killed 2 and found 1. Both were textbook shots but didn't leave much blood. I went out yesterday to BPS and bought some Rage 2s. It seems every success story I see on here is with the Rage 2s so I figured its time to try em' out. I still feel the Tekans are just fine, but for confidence I need to change. Hopefully I made the right decision. The proshop guy still backs the Tekans 100% but I cant argue with all the success I have seen on these forums!

I think it is a funny slap in the face to the libs because they can't complain about it since she is doing what they want people to do, but she has added her own "country girl" twist! Plus, from the outfit she is wearing, I do believe she is using for other uses than just shopping unless she shops in a skirt suit! =)

How much will road effect a bucks coar area?

Lol, me too and I must not have studied hard enough cause I still cant figure them out! -
I am second guessing my broadhead for sure! I am using the new black G5 Tekans that have a 1 and half inch open. I thought with that kind of opening, there would be no trouble with blood. I found one of the blades did not even open on impact though! From the sounds of this forum, all the success' seem to be coming from the Rage 2s. Think I might switch over.

For future reference, so I no how aggressive I need to track a deer after an evening hunt, I am wondering if a deer will spoil if I let him sit overnight in warm temps (65-75 degrees). I always feel the pressure here in the South to try and track sooner than later to avoid spoiling, but then will probably do more harm by chasing the deer if he has not died. I need help making a plan of action for these situations. One positive with Southern deer is they aren’t as big as you Northern guy’s deer which should slow spoiling a bit.

Dang that sucks! I have had two stolen from private property. Makes my stomach boil thinking about it.

Man thats a nice buck! What a good feeling when you find your deer right when you feel its about to get tough to find!
-
how far did you have to follow his blood trail? was it a double lung, heart, thigh, and neck shot?
-
He looks like Jessica Simpson's old husband Nick!

Good size doe! Nice shot, enjoy the meat!

I'm sure this has probably been posted, but I thought this was great. Sara Palin is doing her part by not using plastic shopping bags and carries around a cloth bag. I just love what is printed on the side. I bet the elitist absolutely hate this!

Happy Customer I actually shot a small spike last night using some of that famous "69"! I fly Cessna 172s and Piper PA28s. Ive done some low level scouting from the air! I found a nice swamp that didnt show up on my maps by doing some turns around the property.

I hold you directly responsible for getting me hooked on hunting! Your scents have brought in so many deer for me, making sitting in a stand just too addicting. Now if I can ever find a way to make a living off of this sport I am obsessed with like you have!

As some of you know, I shot a doe on Thursday only to never find her. I believe she went into a big swamp I was near. It was a good shot through the chest but I could not find a blood trail whatsoever. I searched for her 3 separate times for probably a total of 6 or more hours. Well, last night I went out and speed scouted an area I hadn't been to in awhile. I found a nice rub line and set up. After about an hour and half in, I heard some movement and got excited. I grunted a bit and out came a small spike/ button buck. I would typically not shoot a deer like this but I needed meat and some confidence restored. As he quartered away at about 25 yards, I hit him back in the ribs and the arrow went all the way through and out the left shoulder. He did not leave much blood either, but with the help of my dad, we found him piled up in some vines. Although he is not much of a trophy, especially for FL, he is going to taste great on the table! I will try and post a pic. BTW, I really do wear Realtree camo, but this camo in the picture is the only lightweight stuff I have for the heat! =)

Nice deer! With a bow, on the ground is outstanding. What county are you in? My area here in Flagler is loaded with palmettos like that. Tought to hunt. Again, Good Job!
