  1. Yep its official. We definitley have some good looking kids on this site. And pets too.
  2. Here is my crew. My oldest Caitlynn (11) Next is Breeanna (7) My boy Jacob (almost 5) And then our twin grils Samantha (she is the one with more hair) and Chloe. The twins are almost 11 months old. Yes they are trying at times but well worth it.
  3. You have a tough job. But a very comendable one. Thank you. Working there would break my heart. I'm not sure I could do it. My grandmother is in a nursing home. I'm glad there are caring people to take care of her out there.
  4. Marine corp. Silent drill teams are the best of the best as far as drill teams go. Unfortunatly I beleive that was a condensed version of thier routine. Ir it is because it was a drill platoon. In high school we had Navy JROTC. We had a drill team. I wish I had video. There were 9 of us and we had a blast. Of course we weren't silent. But pretty close. We actually had am admeral (sp?) comment on us and how he'd like to see us compete againts those guys. Yeah right! Like we'd hold a candle to those guys. I had a blast doing it. But it takes ALOT!!! of practice to be realy good. Thanks for bringing back those memories.

Thats a keeper anywhere! Nice buck
  6. I thought of that. But he said he just froze. He said as soon as I said "Buck" he started shaking all over. I think it was great he had the close encounter. I'm glad I got to be there with him. I'm sure it won't be our last outing. I'm trying to figure out a time to go again. Maybe muzzloader season. We'll have to see. As for how sick he is, I believe he's on the mend some. I know he has some serious kidney issues. Not sure of all the details but if its anything like a stone I feel for him. I had one and it kicked my but. If you think about him send up a prayer for him.
  7. 16.253 feet.... LOL Climb up until you have good shooting lanes and you feel comfortable. If your uncomfortable stay lower. Higher gets you more chance of getting away with movement but adds a sometimes steep angle to your shot. If you gun hunting, no problem. If your bowhunting higher complicates things. So practice from the hieghts you think you may shoot from. I like getting up there sometimes. Unfortunatly most of my trees where I hunt aren't good for a climber. I have several ladder stands. I do like a climber some places but haven't used it in a couple years. ALWAYS WEAR A SAFETY HARNESS! Never had a slipping problem even on my cheap Walmart climber. Just make sure the teeth are sharp etc. Good luck and be safe.
  8. You got that right. I think I had more fun than he did. I had a blast. He's a good kid and I wanted to give him a chance to get out since I can tell he loves it so much. I was talking to him yesterday and I mentioned going for squirrell. His eyes lit up. "Can I go?" my respose "Absolutly" I'll probably take him and my daughter (11) and head out to some local public ground some time if it gets a little warmer.
  9. Here is a pic of Chris up in the tree, Before the snow. Man I almost think that day was as much fun as my hunt when I killed my buck this year. Almost.... I know i was more nervous before the shot, or lack ther of. LOL
  10. Here in Ohio we had an extra weekend of gun hunting this year. Yesterday and today (Dec 15-16). I took a buck on opening day of the first day of season so I didn't need to go out. Anyway, A boy at church (Chris) has been very sick and in and out of the hospital. He's 16 and loves to go hunting. His step father hasn’t had time to take him. So I decided I'd put him in my stand were I killed my buck. I thought he'd have a good chance at a deer there. He's killed one doe (several years ago) and really wanted a buck but would have been happy with a doe too. So later in the week I talked to them and his doctors said he was doing better and his mom OK'd him to go with me. Actually she was all for it. So Friday night I pick him up and bring him home. Unfortunately we got in late. But I could tell he was excited. So we finally get to be and I set my alarm trying to get us in before light but still giving him enough sleep. Well, I blew it. We got up and got over there as it was getting light. As we walked to the stand we bumped out two does. "Great, just great, I blew it for him" I thought. He got a good look and seemed happy. I had hung a hang on stand on the same tree as my ladder stand that I normally use. So I climb up and get in and then he gets up. I get him all strapped in and he settles in. He had a few questions and we quietly discussed a few things. After an hour or so the guy next door walks across the back of my property (not real happy about that) and then gets his ATV and drives back all over his property which is prime land for deer hunting. They were hunting too but I doubt they saw much Soon it started to snow. I mean really snow. At about 10 am I see a buck walking to his right at 35-40 yards. It’s a half racked buck but still a buck. I lean down to him and say: “Buck, right there. Get your gun up” “Get your gun up” He didn’t move. The buck is now stopped in the open broadside at about 35 yards. “Get your gun up” “Get your gun up” He froze. Then the buck starts moving again. I bleat to get the buck to stop again. I thought he may have been waiting for the buck to give him a chance to raise the gun. Nope. The buck decided he had enough an trotted away from us never stopping to offer a longer shot. I think I was excited as he was or more. My leg was shaking LOL. Like I was the one hunting for my first buck. Chris told me later he couldn’t believe he just froze. He’s been smiling ever since and telling, everyone who will listen, the story. In fact so have I. What a great hunt. I tell you, if you’ve never taken someone hunting like that your missing out.
  11. looks like he shot it with buckshot..... I'm not sure I could guess on the score looks big. but the pics are taken to make it look even bigger (like it needs it) NOT!!! its a cool buck regardless.
  12. Thats pretty popular around here. The video that when around the internet a few years ago was from a few minute away from me. I still think its very cool. I don't have the energy to decorate that well. I did see they are making a lower cost generic version of this though. Not nearly as cool as what you did though. Nice Job!!
  13. I forgot a knife and my camera this year when I killed my 10 point. Luckily my father had some I could use.
  14. I feel your pain my freind. We lost power during an ice storm last winter. We were out for three days. It was my wife and I and the kids here no power, heat, water. And to top it off I had twin girls that were a couple weeks old at the time. Luckily I had bought a big propane heater (the kind for construction sites I guess) the day before the storm hit. I could heat the entire house to 70 degrees in about 40 minutes from around 50-55. It took a couple hours to drop back down. We dressed warm and camped out in the living room shutting the doors to unnecessary rooms. It actualy was kind of fun. Except the no water thing. Not being able to flush a toilet or flushing it with a bucket of water gets kinda old. We've got a gererator now to run the water. Just in case. That and plenty of propane. Hope yours comes back on soon.
  15. Great link. I'm finishing a room in my basement for my stuff (shop etc) I may have to set up a guy room too. Those look nice.
  16. There are some nice bucks in MD. I think since MD is som populated it gets overlooked for nice deer. I used to hunt near Frederick and in a bow only area down near Baltimore. Great areas. Killed my first few deer in MD actually. What part do you hunt.
  17. Ok everyone just say it like it is. The gross score is bigger and bigger always sounds better. .... LOL I'm guilty!! :D Uhhh. I am refering to deer antlers BTW LOL
  18. Somehow they just know don't they. At least he wasn't dancing around sticking his tounge out at you. LOL
  19. I figure both. My buck was 153" gross 150 1/2 net. I seems most deer won't score net that close to gross. so gross score seems more acurate in a true measurment of the antlers.
  20. Very cool... I'd be trying to figure out how to get a full body mount done of the albino. Maybe a bedded form. Man that would look cool. but I wouldn't know where to put it. maybe the taxidermist could use it as a display or compitition... Either way its a cool trophy for sure congrats.
  21. Sounds like this kit will be kinda heavy after you get all that suff in it. I'll come up with a way to make it easier to carry. No no cart for us thats been done. How about a camo helium filled ballon. Yep that should do. Heck we can make it big enough to tie to other equipment too.
  22. don't shoot any liitle ones with that or you never find them... DANG
  23. Blood is a byproduct of hunting. I preffer a picture with little to no blood but thats just me. I also prefer pictures in the woods as apposed to in the back of the truck or with the deer hanging etc. But I like the others to if there is nothing else. The one and only one I'd realy rather not see is the ones with people sitting on the animal. It just seems disrespectfull to me. Fortunaly most if not all of those I see are kids trying to hold up thier trophy. As for that kids with deer is awesome even if they are sitting on them. Like I have said before I like to see and hear about others success. Blood doesn't bother me or I wouldn't hunt. But I think less makes for a better pic to keep and remeber for years to come.
