  1. I can't remember the name but it is the new push button call from Hunters Specialities, made of plastic and waterproof. Has anyone used that call yet? Any comments? Any comments on other push button type calls that are waterproof? I usually use the "Freak" call made by Primos, along with some other friction calls along with mouth calls. I'm looking for something that I can use with one hand. Rodney
  2. If I decide to get a new shotgun it will be the 870 in 20gauge. I've seen them for $299 and I that fits my budget, the only thing I would need to buy would be a turkey choke and I would be set. Thanks to all that responed. Rodney
  3. Used Switchback XT Cam 29" $45 To Your Door in the lower 48 Money order/personal check I don't have Paypal Pics available Rodney
  4. Thanks for the responses. Nothing wrong with the mossberg, I would like to buy a Rem 11-87 and the wife says I need to sell one before I buy one. I'm also thinking about 20gauge instead of 12gauge. Thanks again
  5. Nothing wrong with the Mossberg, I'm just looking to get something in 20gauge. I would like to buy just one gun and not have to buy different barrels, I've been looking at the Remington 11-87 in 20gauge with the screw in chokes so all I would have to do is change the chokes. I was just curious to see what everyones opinion was.
  6. I have an 835 UltraMag, Mossyoak breakup camo, ported barrel, fiber-optic sights, 2 years old, no visible marks. In your opinion, what would be a fair asking price for this gun? Rodney
  7. I'm looking to purchase a new shotgun that I can use to hunt small game and turkeys. I currently have a Mossberg 835 UltraMag which I'm trying to sell and was looking at something under $600 that I can use for everything. Any suggestions would be aprreciated. Rodney
  8. You might want to take a look at Tradgang.com its a traditional only website and the people on that site like the ones on this site are great to deal with and will answer any question you might have.
  9. Scoutguard makes a decent camera for $199. Its about the size of your hand and is IR at night, you can see a red glow from the IR bulbs when it takes a picture at night but it doesn't seem to bother the animals. You can read some info on different cameras at Chasingame.com.
  10. Fly tying materials can be pricey but if you think about the amount of flies you can tie from those materials its not to bad. What type of flies do you like to tie(Bass, Trout, etc) I manly make trout flies so I can't help you out much with Bass or Panfish flies. Feel free to send me a PM if you need any help with selecting materials, I would suggest getting a few videos to watch, it has been easier for me to learn from videos compared to books. Rodney
  11. They are pretty much useless to me because I shoot carbons just looking to get something out of them.

  13. I have owned several different models of cameras. Stealth Cams have slower trigger times, but if you use them around feeders or areas where the animal might linger for a couple of seconds they work fine. I did notice that battery life is a bit shorter compared to other cams. But like I said earlier if used in the right situation they work fine.
  14. I would suggest a 30-06 or 270 in bolt action, I have a Ruger bolt action 30-06 with a Nikon 3-9x50 scope. I also have a Remington 3600 pump action in 30-06 that I use when we do deer drives so I can get a faster second and third shot if needed, that gun has a Bushnell 3-9x40 scope. I hunt mostly in Garrett county and western Allegany county where most of my shots are 100 yards or less, for longer shots I would suggest the 270 over the 30-06. Rodney
  15. Thanks for those great suggestions, I guess no one wants any non-resident hunters in there states anymore. Probably better hunting somewhere else anyways. Thanks again!!!!!
  16. I'm looking into a bowhunting trip to the state of Ohio next year. This will be my first trip to that state to hunt, any suggestions on outfitters, guides, etc would be appreciated. Thanks
  17. You might want to try the traditional bowhunting website called Tradgang.com . They are a great group of guys who are willing to answer any questions you might have, they also have a classifieds section where you might be able to find a good used bow at an affordable price. Hope this helps.
  18. We bought one this past summer, we have the electric model, my wife and I don't have any children so its just the 2 of us in our house. Make sure you get the one that will fit your household needs, the one we have allows us to run 2 major appliances at the same time. For example: Clothes washer & Dishwasher, Shower & Dishwasher, Shower & Clothes washer, etc. But only 2 at the same time, they make models to fit your needs. Ours takes about 5-10 seconds to get the hot water flowing but after that there is and endless supply. We have'nt had it long enought to know how much energy it saves buts its nice to know that it only uses electric when we turn the faucet on and you don't have to worry about coming home and finding out the tank on your old style hot water heater decided to spring a leak!! There are several brands out there so do some homework and you will be able to find one that suits your household needs.
  19. Try the website Tradgang.com its a traditional only bowsight and the guys are willing to help out with any questions you have.
  20. Legal spotlighting can also work against poaching, think of it this way: If there are alot of people out spotting, would a poacher be less likely to shoot a deer with all the other people around that could turn them in or would they like to be the only ones around turn the light on, shoot, and come back later to get the deer? Do you think in the areas that get heavy spotting pressure the deer get used to the cars and lights? Would be nice if someone has or would do a study to find out.
