  1. Thanks for the info Adjam5, I greatly appreciate you sharing your generator experience with me. I wonder if your AC is a 13.5 BTU ? I'm really torn between the 1000W and 2000W now. The price difference (new Honda) is about 300-400 dollars. My travel trailer is a 27 footer and the AC is a 13.5 BTU. Would the 2000W run an AC that size? I've heard 3000W was minimum, but that was from a salesman. Anyone else have experience running a moderate sized (13.5) AC with a 2000W generator?
  2. Thanks for the info Randy, I'll keep this is mind for my 6 year old daughters next bow.
  3. I have been under the impression that the small 1000watt generators will charge a 12 volt battery. Does any one know how long it takes? I've also been told they will power a RV (not the AC or micro) including the furnace and lights while it charges the battery. Any one know from experience and does any one have a recommendation?
  4. Anyone have a used 1000 Watt generator for charging 12 volt batteries. I'm looking for something quiet and dependable. Cabela's has the Yamaha for 699.00, I'm looking for something about 1/2 that.

Use it as a backup. I've never experienced any problems.
  6. Sounds like a lot of people are thinking of switching. Me included. Does anyone know just how much the whisker bisquit slows the arrow?
  7. Just subscribed to bowhunter (haven't got the first issue yet). It was good offer 10 bucks for a year. I also get North American hunter. It's free forever since I'm a life member of the NAHC. Occasionally there are some articles about bowhunting.

    Need some help

Sounds like you have accounted for all the modifiable risk factors (well except maybe the tobacco). Be realistic with yourself. So many of the patients I have taken care of in the past express how they are going to do all the things you mentioned and then quit a few weeks/months later and go right back to their previous lifestyle and continue to suffer from hypertension. If you're still high (above 139/90) after trying all the things you mentioned you should let your doctor know. The recommended initial medication is a Thiazide diuretic. It will make you urinate a lot leading to a lower B/P. If you are prescribed a diuretic you may want to take it in the morning so you're not up using the bathroom all night. Hope things work out for you.
  10. Randy that's an impressive fish! You seem to have the touch for trophy fishing/hunting.I never really got into fishing here in Illinois. I've got a 5lb bass on the wall, and I've wrestled some 10 lb cats, but never caught the passion like I did with hunting. However, I took the family to Rocky Mountain Natioanl Park a few years ago and learned to fly fish with my wife in the cold mountain streams and lakes. We both were hooked immediately. My favorite fish to catch (and release) is the greenback cutthroat trout. After years of being believed to be gone from our planet forever a small population was discovered in remote Colorado. Conservation efforts have now brought this beautiful species back from the brink of extinction.

Thanks ksbowhtr77, I always thought avatar was a cartoon my kids watch.
  12. A monster for sure. Cangratulations! Seeing your score makes it harder for me to wait the drying time for mine.
  13. Looks like your taxidermist does excellent and fast work. who mounted it?
  14. There is a learning curve with blackboard for students and teachers. If it's messed up then either your schools IT department is poor or your teachers are not using it correctly. Guns don't kill people and technology doesn't make teachers lazy.
  15. I teach several on-line courses using blackboard and that happens to my students all the time. I've always allowed them to re-take the quiz (you will likely be assigned a unique password). It happens so frequently that I no longer select the "force completion" option. That way if a students computer goes down they can power up and continue the quiz where they left off. Students can still only take it one time. Some professors don't take kindly to students telling them how to run their course, so be cautious. If your professor says no you could file a grievance and you'd probably win.

Well, am I finally a shooter? (for some people anyway). Yes, a spike. Please hold your fire. Does anyone know how to get images next to your name? I like these forums and plan to stay a while. I'd like to be "cool" like everyone else. >Frank

Ok, I just figured it out. The more posts the more mature one becomes. Let's see I'll guess 50 gets me out of the fawn stage.
  19. Great to hear! Smoking was easy for me to quit, but chewing! It's a constant struggle for me. Especially during turkey season. Good luck!
  20. I hear about these occurances more and more. I wonder if it has anything to do with banned/restricted hunting in some states.

My 6 year old daughter uses a Bear kids bow (Wal-mart) and loves it. No cams, just plastic and a string.

    How stupid

I'm going to believe the girls lived and that the kids involved never do anything like that again. If it turned out differently I don't even want to know. I'm new to the YouTube thing, I hope they wouldn't allow videos of people being killed to be posted. How terrible.
  24. I have only figured out how to attach pictures not directly post them in the message. Click on the paperclip at the top, browse your computer for the file you want (compress there are size limits) then upload.
  25. I use a Rem 1100 (automatic). I've had it since I was old enough to shoot. It only gets shot during turkey season. I shoot 3 inch shells through the full choke. I've only missed one turkey with it (I've always claimed that someone set me up with a blank).
