I could see the deer growing that rack at 3.5 or 4.5 years of age. It could be a tumor or something biologic that resulted in excessive hormones that are responsible for antler growth.

Welcome back Ross! Glad to see this place going strong again.

Stunning!

Welcome back buckee! Let the revival begin!

With this post I am officially a part of the moron thread that will live in infamy. Yea, I had to look up how to spell infamy because I too may just be a moron.
-
Got it - did jfike call Steve or someone else a moron?
-
I just saw it - what was the original post?
-
Dang DAWG! Keys to the ranch! Here I thought we were getting over with buggies. LOL I remember the moron thread. William - with the upgrade can you still pull up the old link?
-
Just commented on Team 3's thread. No bad boy buggies for them. LOL
-
Congratulations Team 3! You all harvested some nice looking deer for sure and scored 61 points (almost)! Unfortunately I have some bad news to report. Al was wearing a blue undershirt instead of a camo one in the picture with his awesome MO buck which according to the rules results in a 0.25 point deduction leaving your team with 60.75 points and second place in the contest. You'll still receive a nice attaboy but the bad boy buggies will be going to team 2. LOL Seriously, it has been a lot of fun watching your teams progress and I look forward to having more fun with you all next season! -Frank

Martin - don't get a FB account. We'll never see you again! LOL I guess I'm considered a long time member here. Joined about the same time I opened a FB account in 2008. I am also a member on a Southern Illinois Outdoors hunting forum site and it gets a new post about once every week (maybe). It was so rare I stopped visiting for months. I went back to say hi and had to create a new profile and everything. I stop in here more during the hunting season. During the summer I'm not on here as much. I recently joined a crossbow facebook page and it has close to 1000 members posting stuff all the time. I'm already bored of it though. People always have to find fault with other hunters because they use a feeder, or a scope, or whatever. Good grief - I get tired of the bickering - if it's legal then there is no need to discredit the hunter. That negativity doesn't happen here anymore - at least I haven't seen it. Of course I must add that Martin really screwed up shooting that 5-point instead of the 6 point - I'm worried I'm going to lose my bad boy buggy. LOL

I went to a party with the RT girls in my new Bad Boy buggy and ate smoked elk all night. I'm sure that was the dream I was having anyway.
-
Been years since anyone has been in here. Since this is the youth room here's a pic of my sons first buck from about the last time someone was in here.

There is a member on team 3 that shot a doe in November, posted a pic, but hasn't entered it yet. If he does we would be tied. I love my new bad boy buggy - got her all dirty yesterday and the RT girls spent all night cleaning it for me. I'm not too keen on sharing it with team 3 if we end in a tie. Marty, you sure ONE of those other points aren't an inch long? LOL Seriously, this has been one of the funner deer contests in a while.
-
Sounds like an exciting chase Martin - glad you got to experience it with the family. Santa left the bad boy buggy under my tree this AM! Can't wait to try it out!
-
Nice video - Merry Christmas to everyone here on the RT forums!
-
Fantastic Martin! I know you've passed a lot of deer this year. Can't wait to see the deer that bought us all the Bad Boy Buggy! I'd be happy to get them posted as well if necessary.

Martin - I'm trying to figure out how to click the "like" (heart) that gives a reputation to your above post. How do you do it?
-
Martin - each member of them team wins! Joe, I'm not sure Katrina will want the RT girls. Maybe William can throw T-Bone back there for her???? LOL We gotta win first!
-
No pressure Aaron / Martin. I'm sure the all expense paid late season hunting trip to Texas with Michael, David and Bill Jordan that William has set up for the winning team isn't going to be as much fun as it sounds.

10 Immutable Truths of Hunting Whitetail Deer by me :-)
fly replied to Stinger-Hunter's topic in Deer Hunting
You're second one is spot on Ultradog. Can't count how many times I've looked at a tree or bush in failing light waiting to see if it walks - thinking it's a deer.- 7 replies

Always nice to end the season with a successful hunt. Congratulations Ruth.

I'm going out tomorrow (temps in single digits today but up in the 20's tomorrow. It's my last day to hunt the public draw hunt I got into. Past couple days the roads have been much too icy. We always get freezing rain around here - worse than snow. Tomorrow the wind is all wrong for my stand so I'll be making a ground blind.

10 Immutable Truths of Hunting Whitetail Deer by me :-)
fly replied to Stinger-Hunter's topic in Deer Hunting
Agree with most. I'll add one. When bow hunting the big buck is generally just out of range. When gun hunting and a big buck is taken, inevitably the buck was so close it could have been taken with a bow.- 7 replies
