  1. sounds good... get that sucker sighted in so you can get out there and enjoy God's country! (and maybe collect some bone while you're at it)
  2. easy guys... lets not make this a thread that bashes another member for posting something on more than one thread... just kinda what i got from reading the last half of this thread...:offtopic:
  3. I have not shot one simply because there really is NO way I am willing to drop 1,500 on a bare bow... another thing I saw in my hoyt owners manual "kinda universal" the section that was about the matrix said that small cracks on the riser (about a mm or so or something like that) are common things after use of the bow and should not be worried about.. I don't know about you guys but I am NOT convinced that cracks on ANY riser shouldn't be worried about
  4. haha... awesome.. I have seen some wild ones struttin' their stuff in some crop fields close to my house... season doesn't come in till May 1st here though... Just seeing that gets me pumped though
  5. i understand if you have your heart set on canada for him, but there are many places int he us that he can drive to and not have to worry about firearms checks and luggage on planes etc... Iowa, Illinois, Texas, and Wisconsin are all states known for their big deer.. oh and don't forget Kansas..
  6. maybe shorten the draw by .5" and see you you like it?.. i bet you would have much less wrist slap if it isn't your form causing it
  7. sounds like a tuning issue.. you're center shot and knocking points could be slightly off.. have you paper tuned your bow?.. many times this issue won't be visible until you sight in your bow at further distances..
  8. what is your price range?.. if you are looking top of the line the maxxis is beautiful... i shot the 31 and 35 and decided on the 31... If you aren't willing to spend quite that much the turbohawk is basically the alphamax.. same cams and such.. but the turbohawk has a cast riser instead of a machined riser... they shoot well too... it all depends on what feels good to you... get out there and shoot one!!
  9. no i meant administrator tony.. but i think i was wrong... u should be 34 administrator tony would be 35
  10. hey guys i got a trick for ya... i gut a deer with a 2.5" blade... instead of breaking the pelvis when field dressing your deer, start out at the anus and cut around it as deep ad you can go into the cavity... then when you disconnect the esophagus and pull... everything comes right out... plus there is no exposed flesh to get dirty from where you would have split the pelvis.. AND you have more control over a 2.5" blade than you do a larger blade.... your fingers will appreciate that when you reach into the body cavity...
  11. thanks... i knew it was one or the other... haha
  12. i agree.. i would think that if a deer still had its antlers that late that it meant that the deer had a mild winter and also had an abundant source of food and nutrition.. so yeah that is a good thing
  13. Awesome looking bows Tony... I believe your number would be 34
  14. finally was able to get home from school and take a pic of mine... Maxxis 31.. 68# @ 29"... Carbon Express Maxima Hunter 350 w/ 3" fusion vanes.. G5 peep... Truglo Tru-Sight Xtreme sight... QAD Ultra-Rest Pro Series Rest... Simms Limbsaver X-Coil Stabilizer... I LOVE THIS BOW haha
  15. i have the X-coil stabilizer by limbsaver... im thinking about getting the enhancer 2000 to go along with it to add a little weight.. it dampens the noise and vibration perfectly though
  16. that kind of passionate emotion is what this great tradition of hunting is all about... you are definitely not the only one who has cried after taking an animal... I get so emotional when I think about how blessed I am to be able to get out into God's country and witness life's amazing beauty... It's what keeps me coming back for more... deer or no deer
  17. well i heard through the grape vine that this years rifle season (2010 PA) will be changed to doe only the first week, then buck will come in for a combined buck/doe season the second week...
  18. yes sir.. i would say you had a great deer season... i didnt even kill a buck last season!!
  19. i do like the black and red look
  20. We're nowhere near ready... we recently leased some land this year and we need to clear some land to put in a few food plots.. we also have to scout and set up tree stands etc... going to be very very busy this summer on top of a job!
  21. IT IS ADDICTING!... first time i ever shot it i shot a 180 on turkeys.. very fun!
  22. congrats bud.. PA season doesn't start till May 1 here... my brother gets to go on the youth hunt which starts a week earlier, so I will be in the woods calling for him then!
