  1. That's great news. My prayer will be for a healthy pregnancy and delievery. I have two girls and would love a son, but my girls are precious and I thank God for them everyday. Being a parent is the best feeling in the world. It comes with many privilages and many responsibilites. My only advice would be to always remember he is watching you and wants to be just like you. So lead him down the right path and God will bless! Congrats!
  2. Yea, we found the arrow. That's how we knew how far it penatrated and it only had 1 blade left. He thinks it may have hit the shoulder. The shot was about 35 yards and he was shooting a jennings buckmaster. What does bright red blood mean? Also, with it already clotting up, do you think the deer will survive?
  3. The book of Ephesians is divided right down the middle. The first 3 chapters are rich in theology and the last three are very practical. Yes, Ephesians is a great read.
  4. My buddy shot a buck tonight and from what he says it was a quartering away shot from the right side. We found the arrow and it penatrated about 7 inches of the deer. 2 of the 3 blades were gone as well. We found blood for about 20 yards and then it stopped. The last blood we found was bright red and looks as if it was clotting up. We looked for quite a while and decided to leave it for the night. Anyone have any advice, it would be appreciated!
  5. Prayers sent from North Carolina. God Bless you dear brother! Keep us updated.
  6. Low 130's. I believe he's bigger than what others think, but as I have said on all these "guessing games". Go kill the thing and tell us for sure! Good luck!
  7. We went with some folks from our S.S. class Friday night and saw it and it was AWSOME! Not only was it a Godly movie, but it was a good movie! I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.
  8. I don't think hunting in the evening would be a problem at all, my only question would be what if you shot a deer in the morning and had to go to work?
  9. The ones I have seen the battery life last between 70-90 hours. Depends on what brand you purchase.
  10. I have a back injury that has kept me from hunting so far. I went and got a injection on thursday and feel better. I guess my question is; Should I wait to go out later in the day, so I can sit still longer? Also, how many of you alternate standing and sitting while on stand?
  11. I would agree with these guys. I'd say 150's top. I got an idea- Go shoot him and let's find out for sure:D. Good luck.
  12. I enjoy hunting deer, period. Bow, Gun, Slingshot, RPG. Doesn't matter. In all seriousness I like rifle season best. In the words of the late Davey Allison, "Son, you need to put that bow down and get something that goes boom!" It maybe because I am new to bowhunting and only shot one deer, which I could not find. My all time favorite hunting is old fashion "deer drives" where my entire family can be involved. Those were the most fun I had hunting.
  13. I was walking through the sporting goods at walmart a few weeks ago. I noticed a guy pulling back a bear and before I got the next isle- boom! The guy who was working the sporting goods section was standing right beside him, laughed about it and opened another box and let him pull it back.
  14. The first question I would ask, is did the landowner give just you guys permission or you guys and your buddies. If he is violating the landowners granted permission then I would definetly say something to him.
  15. I've decided to refinish the stock on a old 12 guage. Has anyone ever refinished a gun? If so, any tips before I do too much damage? Thanks
  16. Run your mouth! When me and buddies get together we all give each other a hard time, but always in fun spirit. For us just hanging out together is always fun. We throw some food on the grill, boil some corn, potatoes, sausage, shrimp and have a good time.
  17. ebay or craigslist. I got my new Bear TRX off craigslist.
  18. That's awsome! We just moved to NC and live in the piedemont area. I can't wait to get into the woods here and see what it's like.
  19. How do those things work? Do they loose there light after a certain amount of time, or do you disactivate it somehow? Thanks
  20. Yes it is cocobolo- Good Eye! Cocobolo is a awsome wood to work with. It turns great, sands smooth, and finishes well.
  21. Thanks so much guys for your input. I did hear about the Pink Red Ryder guns and actually have one ordered from a friend who owns a hardware store. I will take all your advice into consideration and when we go out I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again
  22. Well I did get to go hear David and it was AWSOME! I would encourage any of you to make the most effort possible to go and hear David speak. We drove 2 hours one way and it was worth every mile. The church that hosted the event did an outstanding job. Richard Childress Racing did a demo car for them specifically for the event and it was great. The food was wonderful and David did an outstanding job. Here are a few pics.
