  1. I found a complete set on Jan. 3rd 2009 and I went to score some friends sheds. He brought out a shed that he found 3 to 4 years ago and looks just like my shed. He shed hunts about 5 miles from where I found my sheds. Could this be the same deer with the same nontypical point on same side? Please give me your thoughts! Here are the two sheds! The older shed is the shed to the right and my shed found in 2009 is on the left. The only other difference is that the 2009 shed has more mass and longer tines plus one more nontypical point by the other one.
  2. I am hour and 1/2 south of chicago in central illinois and have found 1 and a dead buck. There has been a few found around here but went out two days ago and saw 6 still packing full racks.
  3. That sounds good! I will have to try it. I have been trying to get more ideas to try so that the family will all eat it. I have some picky eaters here. I will eat it any way it comes on my plate!
  4. My guess is the squirrel jumped on the deers back and started chewing and then it fell and he took off. That is when I rolled up and picked it up. LOL This was my first time finding a fresh one with chew marks too. There is a lot of squirrels this year and not sure why. I am not liking it due to the big boys still sporting full racks. I want them with NO chew marks!
  5. Get a good pair of boots that are waterproof! Other than that do a lot of walking. Check fence rows, creek crossings, bedding areas, feeding areas, and staging areas. Hope that helps you a little bit.
  6. Here is the pictures I got from todays walk!
  7. Nice! I would of took him. Nice different rack!
  8. I also grid search and start at the south of my timber where the snow is less than the north side. I found my first shed yesterday and it was about 40 yards in the timber on the south side of the timber. South is always best to start with. Creek, fence, or any other crossing where they jump is good too.
  9. Old ones are nice too but like the fresh one I found yesterday the dang squirrels and other critters find them too.
  10. I jumped six bucks with full racks at my other spot the other day so this was a different spot. At my other spot I am the only one that is supposed to be on property so I am staying away that way other people push them out of the park to my spot and then I can leave them shed then find them. At least that is my plan and it sounds good!
  11. Bowtech where in central illinois are you? I am in Pontiac!
  12. LOL It made the knee a little sore but theropy has started and I told doc that part of my theropy is going to be walking in the woods. I did not give him a choice in the matter. I told him I was going crazy sitting at home and needed this. This is part of my workout for building my muscle back!
  13. Had a whisker disk and tossed that in garbage and now have a QAD Ultra rest and would not trade it for anything except ownership to some hunting property! LOL
  14. Here is the one that I found about 2 hours ago on the way out of the woods!
  15. prairiestateoutdoors.com has some big ones that are killed for the year on it. This Monster was killed not to far from where I live.
  16. Woolybear if you look at the doe that is broadside and by herself that is a double patch too. I just now noticed that.
  17. On a large 3 point shed antler how many circumferences do you measure? This 3 point shed has a 5 inch base circumference. Thanks for the help!
  18. I am on that one too but my team seems not to want to post pictures lol!
  19. Thanks to all of you for your comments! That double patch on the neck is not common at my spot so it was really nice to see it has started to get on some does. The first one I have seen was on a buck. Now this one on a doe. I hope that gene carries for a while.
  20. Here are pics from todays ride in the woods!

Add onion, green pepper and water to cover. Add bouillon. Slow cook in crock pot until meat is well done and shreds easily with a fork. Let water cook down to about 1/2 cup of liquid.
