  1. Thanks sureshot. On closer shots, say 50 yards to about 150 yards are they exiting the coyote on say a good heart or shoulder area shot??? Do ya have any pics of exit point shots of coyotes??? Have you used the 55 gr. mpg's at all???? If so, what were your thoughts on those??? Thanks again.
  2. Good video. I don't always agree with biologists but in the case of the wolves I'm leaning with them. They should be managed/protected as a game species. Kill em all, no way!!! Keep a balance, absolutely!!!
  3. That female yote must have gotten the Octo-mom's secret and been loaded with pups.....lol
  4. I wish you had pics......Are they exiting and continuing or just exploding on impact??? My concerns are ricochette...
  5. I hadn't seen those....quick way to open a watermelon,,,
  6. Fugitive....Just this!!!!!!!:hammer1::hammer1::hammer1: By the way, I called all of my Reps and a republican woman who co sponsored the bill saying I opposed it. I also informed them that they should start looking for jobs, after November they will not have one!!!!!:angry::angry:
  7. I agree!!! You hit the nail right on the head!!!!!:toot:
  8. Hunter, you better check your state hunting and trapping laws before ya get yerself into trouble. I just looked and there are seasons for possum. Tearing into your garbage won't get you out of a ticket either....
  9. Have you used the Black Hills factory loaded Barnes VG bullets? What results did you have with the 36 grain bullet, were they accurate and to what range? Did they go thru the coyote? Same questions but with the 55 grain bullet? What other animals have you used them for? (please put the animal, the grain bullet used and the effect of the bullet). Thanks for your feed back.
  10. Nice job gettin the yotes.....But, not very good for hunters ethics. Those kinda pictures are exactly what the PETA PUMPERS like to use against us in the media.....
  11. There are so many variables, You need to be specific about what you want to catch, land or water sets and the type of area. The more information you give, the better answers I can give.
  12. Goin on 46 years trapping now. I'm a proffessional Nuisance Wildlife Control Specialist licensed by the state of Illinois. That's what I do for a living. I trap coons, possums, skunks, muskrats, beavers, squirrels, woodchucks, fox, coyotes, bats and a few others. Even had a couple calls for ex-wives...LOL just kiddin...Numbers, honestly, I get tired of counting.
  13. I haven't had time to comment. To busy loadin up my guns with ammo.!!!!!!!
  14. If fishers weighed 100 pounds we would all be extinct!!! lol:wacko:
  15. Coles, ya gotta be careful buddy. And as far as shooting at coyotes for the heck of it, that's a big no no. If you don't have a reasonable shot don't take one. One reason is you will educate them coyotes and make them even harder to get next time and another reason is even if you don't like them they still deserve to be harvested properly meaning the best quick kill shot you can make. Good luck hunting them.:gun2:
  16. You need to be more specific as to what you are going to hunt....:gun2:
  17. "EGO TRIP" yer killin me!!!!!! lmao  :toot:
  18. All very good points!!!!! I'm surprised you can set 333 Conibears on dry land. You may want to check your state laws and make sure that is legal. If you catch someones dog in one of those it will be dead, and the owner may have the same intentions for you.
  19. Nice cat!!!! Maybe the cat mounted in a jumping pose after a bird (mounted grouse/pheasant) with front legs strectched out to grab the bird???
  20. It sounds to me like you are having an issue with either scent, a possible bedding problem/trap placement or both. The trap has to be beded so there is absolutely no movement of any part of the trap. Also when using buckwheat hulls make sure your trap bed is no larger than the trap, if it is and the coyotes feel the movement they will dig and or flip your trap over. Also, although the 1.75 trap will catch and hold coyotes it really isn't the best trap to use for this job (and I have used them and caught and held coyotes). What I use exclusivly now and in my opinion is the best coyote trap on the market is the MB 650 O.L. from Minnesoto Brand trapping supplies. They aren't cheap but very well made, strong, and well set up for catching yotes. You can see/get them here: http://www.minntrapprod.com/index.php
  21. Hi Dan. To start, yer coyotes aren't bigger because they are breeding with wolves (wolves will kill coyotes over territory and for a food source) they are larger than the western coyotes due to food sources in the mid-west and eastern states. Some of the coyotes taken in Illinois have been weighed on a scale not estimated at 50 and 55 pounds, which is a big coyote. Trapping coyotes ain't like trappin coons, ya really need to know what yer doin or you'll just make them trap wise, they are some smart critters! Using bait and calling is counter productive. If yer gonna call them the whole idea is to appeal to their stomach, meaning you want them hungry, not well fed from a bait pile you put out. Another aspect of calling is during the breeding season and using calls designed for that purpose. My suggestion to you for a serious start would be to buy a good instructional video/dvd on calling coyotes. A very good video is (Calling Coyotes Like The Pros) and is a 4 hour course (2 dvd set) on all aspects. It only costs $24.95 and is worth every penny for the beginner and experianced coyote hunters. You can purchase it here along with anything else you may need for hunting. http://www.allpredatorcalls.com/ They are a great bunch of people and always willing to help you. I make almost all of my purchases from them. Just for some backround on me, I'm a state licensed nuisance wildlife control specialist and this is how I make a living. Good luck and if ya have any other questions send me a pm, I'd be happy to help ya.:gun2:
  22. Don't wait!!!!! Nip it in the bud now. Waiting only shows you aren't really concerned enough to take the time and confront/stop this BS. Also if you wait they will not take you seriously. Go get her now!!!! :hammer1:
