  1. WTG Ruth- what do you charge for shooting lessons :clown: Your pretty darn good with that thing. Congrats on your doe.
  2. I just had to. Ummmmmm- delishious!! No more chopped walnuts on top of my brownies. Bitter is an understatement- made the tip of my tongue numb/dry feeling.:tooth:
  3. I keep bumping deer on a ridge that is loaded with these things right outside a 6 acre corn plot. They are there all times of the day. Gotta be 50 grey squirrels on that same ridge. Turkey are starting to tear it up now too. Might have to try one to see what all the hub bubs about:)
  4. Hey..,hey....hey..., get your mind outta the gutter slimeballs.:clown: What are these?
  5. One thing I learned for sure with that rig there is a big difference between bow close and recurve close. My ability to get recurve close just helped my bowhunting set-ups with a wheelie bow. I'm sure I'll get back to it eventually, just not this season.
  6. Well I thought I was ready and up for the added challenge of hunting with trad gear. What I ended up with is a handfull of direct misses and two bloodied unrecovered deer. Figured it was time to turn this back around so a new compound was in order. I'm really digging my new PSE Bow Madness. In no time I got her dialed in to 30 yds and got her to the woods for the last 2 hrs of light. We rock and roll in the morning. She's a shooter. Time to start filling out some tags:)
  7. Great job Joe! Pics make it look like it was well worth the 3 year wait! Congrats on your 1'st...what a great buck.
  8. Seen alot of young bucks cruising the woods last week with a few of them harassing does with some dogging. Things seem to have temporarily shut down the past few days. I think the big boys are getting rested up for the real deal and the younguns are laying low totaly aware of it. I expect it will blow up here at a momments notice soon as that first doe comes into estrous which could happen any day now around here. I usually see the most activity the week before our regular season opener. Good luck to ya.
  9. Great job Rem! With all the excitement of that being your first I gotta say you handled yourself like a seasoned veteran of the bowhunting world:) Congrats on a hunt done well.
  10. Bad news man. Hang in there Chris, ya got alot of folks behind ya here. Wishing you a speedy full recovery.
  11. Looks like siting in just got delayed a few days. I ordered this combo from Cabelas but what they failed to tell me was that I would need the hammer extension with this gun/scope combo. No mention of that in the catalog nor did it list the part sold seperately. Once the scope is mounted ya cant get your thumb under it to get to the hammer even with the scope all the way forward.:hammer1: They're hooking me up with one free of charge and covering the shipping as well.
  12. Unfortunately not, but that wasn't due to lack of effort or tracking ability. Just a bad hit but I'm pretty confidant he'll survive.
  13. Almost boys. Still looking for a nice 6 I hit this morning. Will try a blind search in the morning as we're getting rained on tonight. May have a set of tracking dogs assist in the search if I can get the ok from the landowner. Shot was a little high and back but I did see him go down once in the first 100yds. The last pic is the last drop of blood 500yds from the shot. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......... don't go there.... He went there. Into the goldenrod abyss
  14. Here at The GW Ranch we have a deer behind 4 out of 5 trees.
  15. I'm a pretty easy guy to please. I'm sure it will serve me well. Gonna try feeding it 150 gr Pyrodex pellets and 250 gr hornadys this week for starters. We'll see how she spits 'em out at 100 yds. Got some granular powder on order too to play around with and a mess of 300 gr Barnes and Powerbelts to waste on some paper before she hits the woods here in a couple weeks.
  16. Big brown truck visited me yesterday and handed over my new 50 cal. Traditions Pursuit. This will be my #1 gun through regular and ML season. Just waiting to get her cleaned up, mount the scope, and site her in as soon as my accesory package arrives sometime today! I'm looking forward to spending record amounts of time afield this year straight through till shed season and planning on some late winter varmint hunts with my new friend!
  17. When your done with those you can come thin them out down here. Gonna start letting the air outta some of the coons and grinners in the morning. we're covered up with them this year. How long have you had your traps set? That dudes gonna look good on the wall:)
  18. That's the good stuff right there. Congrats to your pops.
  19. Hey guys been at it for two weeks straight now without missing a day. Got one miss to my credit so far on a great 8 today. Have been seeing some good bucks here lately just having a hard time getting them in recurve range. Hoping to get one within 20 soon.
  20. Have rattled in 8 different bucks over the past 3 days. They are paying no attention to my grunts but have come charging in to the horns darn near every set.
  21. Well, your in he military yourself. Does it matter what ethnic group has your back??? Would you not defend your own brothers. Even us white folk have our days. Birthdays Fathersday Opening day:clown:
  22. The closer we get to seasons start the more we want to see our arrows hit their mark. Quit peaking around your riser in anticipation...... Follow through with your shot.
