I use to have a drop away that was not full containment and i did not like it all, I switched last winter to a QAD Ultarest dropaway and it is great. I even set it up my self and it works perfect. Another big plus is it is quiet. I would seriously recommend it, if nothing else at least check it out.

I wash mine then dry it then put it directly into a either my scent-lok or scentblocker storage bags.

I've got two scrapes under the same cedar tree about 4 feet away from each other near one of my stands, watched a doe two days ago work the scrape and get up on her hind legs to reach the branches, it was pretty cool.

primos makes a scent eliminator that has earth scent mixed in (Primos Silver XP Scent Eliminator Earth Blend) I use it every time i go out, but I also use it after i wash my stuff and hang it out. It works really well, the last two nights Ive had 4 deer walk around directly underneath me and they had n idea i was there, even watch them work a couple of scrapes. Give it a try.

Made a checklist of everything that i'll need so i don't forget anything, and got the truck all loaded up. There's a chance of rain here for this weekend but the temperature is looking like it will be pretty good. Not looking forward to waking up in the wee hours of the morning though, oh well, gotta love it. Good luck everyone!

I adjusted my arrow rest a little bit and it made a huge difference. Both the field points and broad heads are pretty much dead on now. I think the broad heads just made it more obvious that my bow wasn't exactly right where as the field points didn't show it that much. I'm glad i decided to shoot some broad heads before the season started.

I have been having the exact same problem, working out trying to figure it out, i'll let you know if I come to any conclusions

The trigger speed and quality of pics with the WildView is very poor. They are cheap though if your afraid of it getting stolen.

I have a doe decoy, and I use it quite a bit. I can't remember what brand it is right off hand but the ears, head, and legs all detach for easier carrying. and oh it has 4 legs not just two post like some of the decoys. The deer will focus on that rather than looking for you which is nice. Closer to the rut I hang some tinks #69 from under neath the decoy and I have had luck with that. I've actually had a couple younger bucks come right in to it and sniff under its legs. I can't say that it is going to help you shoot a record buck, but I can say it will help deer to come in because they will feel more comfortable. Good Luck!

maybe this is big foots mom...haha, I think posted signs are a good idea

well still no pictures....of deer that is. Maybe this answers the question as to why no deer have been showing up. I have no idea who this old lady is or why she is walking by my camera and more importantly my honey hole stand spot. It is a little funny but at the same time really makes me mad. this lady has no reason to be walking here and she is no where near any road. If I catch her I will yell at her even if she is old.

some people just have no respect, hope you find them

yea i didn't even think about the heat causing but it makes sense now that its been pointed out. Its much nicer weather here this week so far so maybe they'll move a little.

I started putting my trail cam out in mid June and got some good pics of some nice mature bucks and also some fawns with does. Since mid July I haven't gotten any pics, It was actually right around the time that I put my stands up that I quit getting pics. I was checking and changing the batteries about every week and half to two weeks. Whats everyones take, and any possible answers. Am I checking them to often and how much should I worry about scent control? I'm a little worried this season might not go how I had hoped.

I was using a NAP quicktune and was going to switch to a whisker biscuit until people on here recommended the QAD ultra rest. The QAD was really easy to setup and i've been shooting lately and love it. It keeps the arrow contained like a whisker biscuit would but it is a drop away so you don't have to worry about the fletchings getting beat up. Go with QAD for sure.

Got a brand new pair of Scentblocker Dream Season Knee boots back. They are the "new and improved" ones, they do look a little tougher than the first pair I had hopefully these last longer, but its pretty cool that they have stood by their product and sent new ones.
-
well I sent the boots into scent blocker, i'm not expecting any miracles but maybe i'll get another pair that will last another year or so. I also went and bought a pair of Lacrosse knee boots today so hopefully i'll have better luck with them.
-
Thanks for finding that for me. I'm thinking i'm going to send them in and hopefully will get something out of the deal. Anybody have recommendations for a good pair of rubber boots that will last longer than 2 seasons?
-
I've had these boots for 2 hunting seasons and both boots have started to leak. They are really comfortable but I would expect them to last longer. Anyone else have this problem with them? I contacted the company and they want me to send them in but they aren't sure if there is anything they can do because they are 2yrs old. I still have the receipt which I thought would have helped but that didn't seem to make a difference. They've been really well taken care of and they look brand new, except they leak. I would expect boots to last longer when you pay as much as they are for them, hopefully they will stand by their product and replace them though. Whats everyone else think?

It's a Carlson's Turkey Tube, but I can't remember the specifics on it.

I shot the Hevi-13 out of my 935 today at some targets with a turkey head on them and was pretty pleased. I like the 3" a lot more than the 3.5", not to mention the 3" is a little nicer on the shoulder. I had a much tighter pattern with the 3" from 40yds and closer. I didn't shoot the 3" from 50 just because i dont plan on shooting from that distance but I shot the 3.5" from 50 to see how it did and there were about 15 pellets in the kill zone. Overall I like the hevi-13 and i'm planning on going with 3". Hope this helps.
-
Will do, I will be shooting it this weekend so I will let you know.

I started a thread on this topic just the other day, its titled Hevi-Shot. I'm going to pattern my mossberg 935 this weekend and see how it does. I got it in 3" and 3.5", anyway check out the other thread a few people commented.

Has anyone tried the Hevi-Shot Hevi-13 Turkey loads? Whats everyones opinion about them? I ordered a box in 3" and 3.5". In the past i've just used the winchester turkey loads but i've seen a lot of advertisement for the Hevi-Shot brand and thought i'd give it a try. Ive never shot 3.5" shells out of my mossberg 935 so hopefully my shoulder doesn't fall off.

I use my Mossberg 935. Its got the mossy oak camo on it, and I use a turkey choke.
