  1. There was a thread on protecting food plots here that went on about corn and bean plots that small. I don't know what you deer density is but someone had some pics of a corn field decimated by deer and it was about an acre. Just something to think about.
  2. Just weld a big lag screw on the end. Save the headache of dealing with idiots.
  3. Going below zero here for the next three days.
  4. Nevermind. I found it labeled under please read... important.
  5. I don't think I understand what you guys are talking about. Whos banning who from what in three days?
  6. I bet they look better with a little blood on them.
  7. That is a great story. Congrats
  8. I went looking this past weekend. The snow was knee to mid thigh deep and didn't find any. Lots of trails and beds but no antlers. I did see about 35 deer though... which is more than our entire deer camp did during the gun season.
  9. Gotta keep it going year round. If the minerals are there all the time, the deer won't be deficient when they start growing antlers. That sentence is disputed by lots of "experts", but I believe different and for the price it costs to maintain mineral spots, its cheap and gives me piece of mind.
  10. congrats on the new machine. At least new you don't have to worry about dealing with somebody elses problems.
  11. Deer hunting only crosses my mind when food plotting escapes me for a minute or two during the day.
  12. I have broken a few nocks and ripped fletchings off, but never actually split an arrow
  13. Shoulda hear Jime Rome today. It was a battle between US and canada callers... hilarious. It was a good win for the US but the medal rounds are coming up and thats when it counts. Go USA!
  14. out of those two, gotta go honey
  15. Despite the fact that EVERY single person I talked to told me it was a horrible idea, I went ahead and did it anyway. My GF and I went up north to visit relatives and we went to check on the hunting land and maybe look for some sheds. I have had this ring for three weeks+ and just hadn't found the right time to pop the question. I thought where better than my favorite place in the world...the food plots. We were kissing and I asked her to marry me and she laughed and said yup, how about tomorrow? I pulled out the ring and said how about today? She cried, we hugged. I thought I might throw up. It wasn't the most romantic or well thought out plan but she loved it and I couldn't be happier. I got a girl that loves hunting and me and I feel so blessed.
  16. going up north to check on the hunting land. Nice!
