TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread Well Scatchard is gone and Tanabe from Phoenix is in! Not sure how I feel about it but we will see I guess. He doesn't get as many PIM so that ought to help seeing that is one of the B's biggest weaknesses. I think the coach and GM needs fired as well. I think a few more trades are in order too! Enjoy the game tonight Luke. This will be the FIRST GAME THIS YEAR that I didn't watch. We have the Marine Corps Birthday Ball tonight so I will not be home!!!!!!!

TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread Well the bright side to all this is another hockey game for the family today up in Lowell against Manchester. At least we get to watch a 2nd place team instead of a last place losing team in the NHL on TV. Oh yeah, next Thursday we will be seeing the Bruins get creamed by the Senators at the Garden

TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread AHL is the closest thing to NHL....it's like the next step down. Just like last year, we watched Eric Stall in Lowell and a few others on that team that are now with the Hurricanes. If I recall, Stall is also one of the leading scorers this year so far in the NHL as well. Hey Luke, I look for a leadership change this week AND/OR a BIG trade. Your thoughts....Oh BTW, when I say leadership, I am talking coach and GM. When I say trade, I wouldn't be surprised if it is Murray or Thorton for some big D's. Thorton is good but he isin't being a very good C and scoring isin't the B's problem. They did fine with scoring without Thorton when he was hurt. I would hate to see Thorton or Murray go but if it's an exchange for some big D's that would get this team back on track, so be it.
drkillemquick
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread Man the Boston Bruins have lost some tuff games. It would be sad for you guys to loose someone like thorton or murray, but I think you have to keep thorton, besides who wants his paycheck right now. As for your defence, it really isn't that bad on paper maybe just a little too slow. What are your prospects like in the minors. The leafs have brought up a number of young kids this year and their young legs and enthusiasim is amazing. I truely think Boston's biggest problem is coaching. They need to do a much better job in teaching the positional side of the new game. Guys like Gill needs to find ways to use his size in a legal way, Instead of acting like a large pilon as guys skate around him. Really though you guys are a solid playoff team. Hopefully you can turn your season around before its too late.
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread Drkillem, your absolutley correct bud. I would hate to lose Thorton or Murray as well but Thorton while one of the best, sucks IMO as a "C". He needs to be tough on them guys as a C but he is almost as soft as the coach. Thorton used to be snazzy until he got his butt whooped a few years ago. Since then, he turned soft. I don't look for the coach or GM to be around too much longer. They need leadership right now. The team is demotivated. Toivien(sp) the 2ndS Goletender IMO is better than Raycroft. They already pulled some boys from Providence this year. I look for a change real soon!! VermontHunter
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread I see you and I are on the same page Mike.... When Sullivan was leaving the bench last night you could see it in his face...... As for the trade thing the romour mill has Samsonov on the chopping block....his performance as been too little this year,, I don't think you will see Thorton or Murray traded but I have seen dumber things happen in the past.... Something has to be done that's for sure, and Im with you it's going to happen real soon here in the near future....
drkillemquick
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread [ QUOTE ] Toivien(sp) the 2ndS Goletender IMO is better than Raycroft. [/ QUOTE ] I think Raycroft is a solid little goltender. He is so young, with a year off and the rule changes you almost have to look at him as a rookie goaltender again. He seems very shaky, but he is used to a very physical defence that kept the front of the net clear. Once the defence pick up their play and learn what they can and can not get away with, and my quess is once he gets used to new equipment(rules changes) he will find his form of a year and a half ago. But I would trade your head coach for a bag of game used pucks in a hurry.
superguide
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread Any of you guys watch the Rivermen-D.J. King is from my hometown and so is Jeremy Yablonski for the Milwaukee Admirals-both big tough hockey players.

[/ QUOTE ] Not really because they are not in the same conference and unlike the NHL, the AHL doesn't venture out of their conference too often. I think last year, Lowell came out west for a few western coference teams but it wasn't too many of them and it was only like once.
superguide
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread well if those boys drop the mitts pay attention cause it ain't gonna last long. D.J's little brother is playing in the WHL already at 16 and both his sisters are playing on elite ladies teams. There's a lesson there for all you parents with good athletes-none of those kids were pushed real hard-they played their minor hockey in Meadow Lake developed at the right pace and are great players. Our little town is a hockey factory-two more kids got drafted out of here last year. It's pretty cool my 8 year old daughter caan look up in the rink rafters and see her coaches Toronto jersey hanging there-her novice team has a coaching staff better than some junior teams. buckbuster11
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread I dont know how many of you guys get to see Penguin games but Crosby is completely out of this world. The reason the Penguins are turning it around is because he has put this team on his back. Its incredible to watch.
drkillemquick
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread Yeah it is pretty amazing to see what he can do and the vision he has on the ice. It will be quite something to see what he does in a couple years. Its great to see the team turning around, because Mario can't play for too much longer, and before he is all they had. Oh ya, Boston vs Toronto tonight. GO LEAFS GO
