  1. Re: cutting trails I do it all the time, I cut trails through the thick briers, and black berries that run along the top of the ridge I hunt. Usually within a day or two the deer start using the trail I cut and use it more than any other. Easy traveling for them. Wigs

    Bummed

Re: Bummed When is your opener?
  8. Re: Letting them lay up............. I have never left one over night. On the few occassions my buddy or myslelf felt the need to let the deer sit awhile, we left the woods before tracking, only marking the start of the trail. We head home, grab a bite to eat, a beer for my buddy, and coffee for me. Then we fill the thermos up and head out after approx. 4 hours. Has worked well for us. There have been times we were out tracking at 2-3 am. Like D-man said use the ole colman lantern, the blood seems to show up brighter with that than with a flash light. Wigs

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I would say JFK even though I wasn't around when he was assassinated but from what I heard he had a passion for his country. [/ QUOTE ] I also would choose JFK ! I wonder what he would do with Iran? Wigs [/ QUOTE ] If you weren't a moderator, I woudl ban you for suggesting a democrat! 14. Re: Foreign hunter Your best bet is to go through an outfitter. Once you find an outfitter where you want to hunt they can assist you in getting the proper licenses and all the details. If they can't help, you should find another that can. Wigs

  17. The little league team I coach has a big game tonight. We are the last 2 undefeated teams in the league, they lead in scoring and we lead in defense allowing only 6 points all year.(Last week). 6:30 tonight under the lights! Wish us luck, I will try and get some pictures tonight! Wigs

  19. Re: first aid I have been a nurse for over 15 years and the only time I have ever seen a disposable staple kit used is in the emergency room. I am very surprised you were able to buy a staple kit over the counter. Take another look at it and make sure it is not a staple removal kit. That makes more sense. As for use of it. Don't bother you need to control the bleeding before you can close the wound. Apply your practical first aid and go from there. Wigs
  20. Re: Im so Pround of my Son ! [ QUOTE ] That is awesome, of all the times you wish you had your camera . [/ QUOTE ] You not kidding there, when he scored he proceeded to spike the ball and do a dance in the end zone. I forgot to tell him that was illegal, never figuring on him scoring this year. We took the penalty and made our extra point anyhow. He seems to be the big man on campus at practice now!
  21. Re: quota hunt Good deal ! Now go bag a big one. Congrats on being drawn Wigs
  22. I was asked to help coach the little league football team this year since I was there all the time because my oldest son is finally old enough to play. The team is made up of 8,9,and 10 year old boys so naturally the older boys play the most since they have experience and size over the younger boys. Well this past saturday we had a night game against a team that was much bigger than ours and we were having a tough time with them loosing 6-0 at half. At the start of the 3rd one of our starting defensive tackles hurt his ankle and had to be replaced. Well my son at 75 pound jumped up and volunteered to go against the other teams biggest guy (120lbs). He played the rest of the game at defensive tackle and had 4 sacks and 1 blocked punt the he returned for a touchdown. We won 7-6! I think I was the proudest dad at the game and still am! Now I can't wait until Friday nights game! Wigs
