  1. I've had a WV sticker on my truck window for over 25 years. I've lived and been all over this world and proudly wear my WVU hat, sweater, t-shirt no matter where I go. I'm damn proud to be a Mountaineer and leave it at that. I just don't choose to be arrogant about it by predicting the future thinking we're better than anyone. Thinking that way is what bit UGA and OU in the a$$. I'm sure someone will think the same next year that forgot history.
  2. WVU fans don't tend to gloat much BEFORE a game like other folks. We tend to talk after the fact WITH facts. Not some delirious helium-brained illusion like "the other guys".
  3. It was a GREAT game! They showed what the Mountaineer spirit is all about.
  4. My wife makes me an apple pie. I prefer it over cake. And besides, my middle son b-day is 4 days before mine and he likes cake!
  5. I grew up in Pennsboro (nearby Ritchie Co) about 30 miles away and use to run around P-burg. I left the area in 1985, but visited my folks who live in P-burg. The 2 main (and biggest) schools in town are Parkersburg High and Parkersburg South. There also is a smaller (private I think) called Parkersburg Catholic that was a good school at the time. As for entertaiment, I'm not sure what you are looking for. For big name concerts, you'll usually have to drive to Charleston or Huntington, WV or Columbus, OH. The area has some fairs that will get some names in sometimes. The Ohio river is nearby for fishing and a newer lake has been built at North Bend St Park near Harrisville in Ritchie Co. I saw it in it's early stages of filling up and it has some awesome structure when hardwoods started flooding. Ritchie and Wirt Co isn't far a drive and you should be able to get some land and a house for a decent price. Marietta is across the river and was a decent place, but can't speak for it. OH will have the better hunting for nice bucks. WV has quantity. I don't think Ohio's non-res licenses are bad compared to other states I've seen. I'd check into the taxes of each state though. And I'd see how much traffic there is if living across the river. The bridges could be a bottleneck, but not sure. As for an archery shop, can't help you there. There was a decent place on the northeast end of town (can't remember the name) that had a 3D range behind the store that I shot at while visiting in the late 90's. Just google and you should find out plenty.
  6. Form and bow tuning is what I've got out of it.
  7. You should have gotten a 2nd opinion the second a receptionist (1st mistake) said 3 or 4 days (2nd mistake). Govt regs will say by day 3 or day 4, but not both.
  8. WVU was the only team to get beat by a ranked team. The rest were playing chumps.
  9. Thank you for joining the crowd with this post.

    Who can you trust?

    I trust no-one 100%.
  11. Like it or not, I thought it was cool. It'll cost him some probably in the way of missing the race on Sunday, but he stood up for what he thought was right and I can appreciate that.
  12. He's one of the last characters we have in Nascar. Most of the rest are just puppets on a sponsor string. Gee, he said what many normal working people might say....for shame. Way to go Smoke.................

    101st Airborne

Your story brought a tear. Because my middle son will head to boot camp 18 Jun 08. He will be a paratrooper that will jump probably from the C-130 aircraft that his Dad has fixed in the past.

  18. There is no American-made vehicle anymore. There is a partially supported American-made vehicles. People who say I buy American-made don't have a clue on the world economy and market.

    How To Add Smileys?

    Thanks y'all!
  20. We've all heard the heart aches of the military member (I was deployed during Desert Shield/ Storm and went back to Khobar Towers a few months later). But I have to take the time and support my spouse during the deployments. Her job was raising my 3 boys (not working for another paycheck). Our boys were not going to be raised in a day-care center. They were going to be raised by us. We went without alot compared to the folks who lived in home-town USA for many years. But we made it. And my oldest is paying his way through Clemson, my middle is going Airborne in the Army. And my youngest makes you wonder in math. A spouse is an important component of our national defense.

    Golf and F-15s

Air Fete in the 90's I was stationed at RAF Mildenhall in the late 90's. We had an air show that attracted 300-400,000 in two days of Memorial Day. I was the guy-in-charge of 75 people who was responsible for catching, parking, servicing, and launching 175 aircraft doing over 600 sorties over the weekend and working 16 hour shifts for a week. Overtime pay was zero. We didn't file a gripe. We just smiled because we enjoyed it. If your boss said you need to work 8 more hours without pay, would you smile and say "sure"? No you wouldn't. But a GI will.
  22. Congrats to Casey for winning. Funny, I didn't see a fuel gamble asterisk next to his name. Or any other driver for that matter! Many have won that way. Most drivers have won a race on a gamble. So don't negate those who do.
