Re: Where would you go... What do YOU like? Beaches, mountains, seclusion, night life, exotic? If it was me, I'd probably ask for a motorcycle and cruise the backroads of America. There's so much of our own country we don't take time to see or remember. We're always in a hurry on Interstates and forget the old gas stations with a good ole Coca-Cola sign or RC Cola thermometer, or the barn roofs painted with a Mail Pouch ad. Hiking the Appalachian trail would be cool.

Re: North Carolina Assistance please. bruteshooter, Is this his 1st assignment? Is he getting on base housing because of if his rank or prevented from getting on-base housing because of his rank? The housing office will give your son a list of available apartments, houses, etc within the price range he needs from local renters that communicate openings available in the area. Google the area and you can probably get the on-line newspaper classifieds, websites with apartment listings, and realty firms with rentals available. Figure out how much they want/can spend after a little research of the prices and start beating the pavement and making calls. And make sure he asks the housing office on areas to stay away from. Not all renters work with the housing office and could be suspect or shady. Tell him good luck.

Re: Your Heritage/Nationality Don't matter. Born and raised in the United States of America in the Appalachian hills..............I've got German, British, Cherokee from many years ago. But that's irrelevant.

Re: 48 wins 2 in a row You mean the Kobalt Tool sponsored car actually won the Kobalt Tool 500? Naw, say it ain't so. I thought only the Lowes car won at the Lowes Motor Speedway?

Re: Eye glasses and Archery? I've worn glasses most my life. The sucking part is steaming up in early bow season. As for hunting, it doesn't hurt my shooting. But at 3D's, I couldn't use a scope clearly to get a real benefit. If I could see the lines on a 3D, it (the clarifier) required so much light that was never present in the woods (only in a field). I assume different eye strengths are different and get different results. But for hunting, only steaming up is a problem. And for competitive 3D's there isn't many pros (at the national level)wearing glasses, so take that for what it's worth. I hope to get contacts this year. Maybe I can see my pins more clearly. I've never tried them yet.

Re: Question for everyone #2(let\'s try it again) [ QUOTE ] I'm posting this for hunting_boy [ QUOTE ] I was wondering if anyone wanted to write a story with me. You guys tell me different things and I will put them together to make a story. It will have to be a hunting story. When I'm finished, I will post it. I will have some of my friends help me out with it too. What do you all say? [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] I started bowhunting in 1992 and arrowed 3 deer. The following year, a month before bowseason started, I was transferred to England for 4 years where bowhunting was illegal................

Re: question for everyone [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Buckee, I'm not trying to be funny. Honesty can't be pretty sometimes. And life "ain't" (just for you) fair. You don't have the gonads to be constructive. You are too Canadian..... [/ QUOTE ] Whoa! I see a ban coming on! [/ QUOTE ] Naw, he'd have to include TSBH too!

Re: question for everyone [ QUOTE ] jeez, you guys are horrible ... im sure you guys all wrote sentences like that when you were young too, so dont put down the little guy just cuz he cant type like a pro. give us some ideas, and maybe we could cook somethin up [/ QUOTE ] It's called honest feedback. You sound like those parents that comfort and pat a child on the back for any smidge of input. That's why they can't handle REAL feedback. Some days you are the hydrant, some days you are the dog. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THERE IS BENEFIT FROM HONESTY (I.E. TELLING IT LIKE IT IS.) I learned how to write reports from someone who told the truth on HOW BAD I was, not someone who stroked my ego and tried to keep thinking I was doing okay.

Re: question for everyone Uh, try periods to start with and then....................maybe we can talk.

Re: The Best I agree. But don't think anothers difference of opinion is a bad thing. We all have difference of opinion when it comes on how to hunt, but our up-bringing environment has alot of to do on our views of hunting and fishing.

Re: It\'s Saturday! I went out Sat and only caught a foot long LM. But Sunday, I caught a 25" channel cat on a minnow and 4# line. I had to raise the TM and trim the motor up out of the water because the fish was under the boat and all over! I caught 6 crappie, but two were keepers. One was 13".

Re: Trying to get into 3D It's alot more fun with company, but only the right company. If your local bow shop has a 3D range you can visit anytime, then find the one person who you trust and is experienced with shooting 3D. Let that person go with you and explain the ins and out of shot placement and judging yardage (the most important aspect of 3D) without the pressure of on-lookers and backed up groups on a busy 3D range. Do that first (several times if you can), get confident and then it will make it better when you "go public". But most of all, keep it fun without pressure and smile and laugh at yourself when you miss a target. It'll happen, even maybe a few times. And I've seen several "experienced archers" miss. Just be happy and glad you are getting a chance to go. Folks are too quick to forget that.
