  1. Re: My baby girl is sick- could use some prayers swamp, I watched my 14 year-old crash hard on a skateboard the other night and get a mild concussion and a broken wrist. When he came to, he was in alot of pain. As a father, I know what you are feeling. But have faith friend. Children are tougher than we are!
  2. Re: all for naught, advise please It sounds like you really don't have a case (legally). But if that was the buck of my dreams (and it sounds like it is) I would hold a grudge (unfortuneately) forever. Reason, I don't ask for nothing and don't take nothing. So that boy would pay somehow, or I'd welcome him to the sport of baseball.
  3. Re: Man I\'m so sad For the fans sake, if Busch wins, I hope it's more than 24 points. Either way, Jr did do a bonehead move coming up on Edwards. As for NASCAR, hunting season in Nov takes over! Unless Sr was alive running for another championship! wow................and dammit all in one breath.

    Sad news

Re: Sad news Sorry about your loss Illinois. We're here with ya.
  5. Re: Mission Accomplished ? [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] And you agree or dis-agree about them going into Fallujah??? [/ QUOTE ] The post wasn't about agreeing or disagreeing, it was about Bush's preemptive victory speech on that aircraft carrier, remember, the one that he flew onto when he could have taken a jon boat from San Diego and gotten on. [/ QUOTE ] slug, you are starting to tick me off AGAIN (which doesn't take much from you). WHETHER THE PRES COULD HAVE TAKEN A JON BOAT OR AIR FORCE ONE, DID YOU SEE HOW THE TROOPS REACTED AFTER BEING IN THE SEA FOR MONTHS? YOUR SELFISH LITTLE ATTITUDE (WOE IS ME) DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT. AFTER THE SHIP AND CREW HAS BEEN FIGHTING, THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF CAME ABOARD. TALK ABOUT GETTING PUMPED UP! BUT YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND.
  6. Re: Illinois Public Land Bowhunting Question [ QUOTE ] DG I leave Thursday for Adams county at a reasonable priced outfitters. I will let you know how it goes. Friends of mine are out there right now. So far the have killed 4 bucks in the 145 - 160 class range. If your interested I will get you more info. [/ QUOTE ] IF? IF? Your darn tootin I'm interested! Thank you, I'd greatly appreciate that!
  7. Re: Bush win impressive? [ QUOTE ] Bush won, kerry lost, and thankfully it didn't take 36 days of legal stuff to figure it out. I think that is the most important outcome, that even though it was a fairly close election there is a clear winner. [/ QUOTE ] Ditto, SS must be bored again!

  10. Re: Keeping \"Their\" Promises Good Post! Thanks..................
  11. I've always heard that Illinois has big deer. Never hunted there before. So does Illinois have decent public hunting land to bowhunt? I'm tired of seeing small deer and want to prepare for a bowhunting trip to there for next year. Years of moving around in the USAF hasn't really allowed me to get settled to know the locals too well, so it's been public land hunting for the most part albeit with success for meat. I want a chance for something to put on the wall. What do you hunters suggest about gameland? Or would it be better to find a decent outfitter to go too? I guess a part-time job might pay for it! I want to start saving now for next year Lord willing. Thanks for any suggestions. PM me if you want. Thanks.
  12. Re: opinions on expandables My buddy shoots the Spitfire pros with a cut-on-contact blade and the metal lock (no rubberbands req). He paid about $35 for 3. He's killed a nice 8 pt and two hogs this year with excellent results. I've been shooting Muzzy's for over 10 years, but I may try spitfires next season just for the heck of it.
  13. Re: Funniest Country Song Titles I heard a song probably 15 years ago. Didn't know who sang it, never heard it again, but the line was: "I want to kiss her but, .............she won't let me!"
  14. Re: ? for slugshooter Edwards comments are fitting for an ambulance chaser!
  15. Re: Lookin good in W.V.......... 3 does? I thought you could take one deer on the license and then buy 2 additional deer tags? Basically, I thought 3 deer is all you can kill with a bow in bow season. Just asking.....

    BUSH WINS!!!!

Re: BUSH WINS!!!! Yes! Hey sluggo, what do you think?
  17. Re: difference in brace heights [ QUOTE ] what is the difference between a low brace height and a high brace height [/ QUOTE ] It's the distance between the bow string and the riser at the point where your hand lays in the grip (between thumb and index finger). A low brace makes the string travel farther with the arrow and is closer to the riser. A higher brace is a longer distance between the string and riser. I've read the higher brace is more forgiving and can understand the logic. But don't let that persuade you into buying a bow. I bought a bow (Mathews Rival Pro) because it had an 8" brace, long ATA, and on paper is very forgiving. I never enjoyed that bow. In fact, I shot an older Mathews 3D Vapor with less than 6" brace better (much better). The moral of my story is, shoot what works for you. What works for one, may not work for another.
  18. Re: Do you butcher your own deer? [ QUOTE ] Yes. Always have and always will. Archerjg [/ QUOTE ] Ditto
  19. Re: How long did it take.... Not long and 6 weeks ago by absentee ballot.

  22. Re: Need some advice on child bow You might try the Golden Eagle Little Brave. My boys shot that one for awhile.
  23. Re: The Offical Realtree Pittsburgh Steelers Thread!!! That was an awesome game!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Ben is the man. Finally Pittsburgh went for a real quarterback. And the Duce / Bettis tandem is pretty good too. I can't wait to see Duce against his old team.
  24. Re: got my first with a bow last night Congrats!
