Re: **Met a really hateful man today/anti-everything.. Thanks gang for such support.....I am going to buy a large smoked ham and deliver it to the nice older lady/landowner who allowed me access to the deer....I know this guy is either a neigbor, or frequents to area, Ill try to avoid another burst of words, there is a special place with the devil for people like him.....he wont change, and he poisons hunters every time he opens that mouth of his........I dont know if the landowner wants venison, thats why I apt for a Christmas ham for her......al

I can pretty much get along with anyone...here is how the morning went...a neigbor at his work called me and told me of an injured doe in a field, that has no use of her back legs, and needs to be put down....first hand information came from another gentleman he worked with...so, they drew me a map, 30 miles from my house is where the deer is located. I grab my 20 month old boy, knife, and buddy Terry, who carried a cased .22 pistol to dispatch the deer that was told to be struck by a car. I locate the deer, and notice a farm truck parked and running across the road from the deer...this is where it gets ugly....I go to the farmer in the truck, and he starts ranting "You must be another worthless f'n hunter, stupid f'n hunters make me angry, you cut my fence, tear up my fields and shoot everything in sight.....I asked him to calm down, I just wanted to know the status of the deer...(at this time, the deer raises its head and starts bawling really loud, and continues to bawl) The farmer tells me, you cant have that deer, you f'n hunter, you let NATURE TAKE ITS COURSE.....so after he yelled swear words at me for 5 minutes, I asked him, cause it was evident he had been "guarding" this poor wounded deer, his truck exaust and burned the ground, so I knew he had been there all morning..if he owned the land the deer was on....Farmer replied "NO"....at this time, he see's Im not alone, and he gives up his quest of being a mean SOB, and rants on I need to leave the deer alone......I went to a great looking farm just down the road, spoke to an older woman who said she owned the land, and was sick of hearing the poor deer crying, and if I could please take it away.....so, I shot the deer, took it home, it had a small bone on its spine broke, no meat damage whatsoever, and I plan on donating all the meat to a local food pantry for the homeless close to the holiday.....and before me and the farmer was done with each other, I let my mean side come out, and told him my wife was a nurse, but if his fat butt had a heart attack, just stay in the truck, or field, dont call 911, I want Nature to just take its course......the saddest part of this was if I was alone, he may of ran me off, like so many other hunters this morning, and the poor button buck it turned out to be, had tears all over its face where it had cried all morning........some people are just downright mean as heck...........al

Your chosen by administration, Im sure its due to sound answers and judgment calls in the forums you post in......I was just plain lucky.........sometimes administration makes a post that they are in need of someone for a certain room on the forums, and you email a reason "why" you feel you could be a moderator for that room.................al

Re: Someone stole my treestand!! Stinger.....sorry to hear about that buddy...but you live close to the city, you know all the thieves are too lazy to go in the deep dark woods for it.....they just wait till you drive up and leave it in the back of your truck, because you still believe in common moral values....unfortunately, they dont.....I have had too much stolen not to tuck it lock and key under a blanket in the front seat of the truck......take care buddy, if you need to borrow a good one to finish season out, let me know, Ill drive it up to you.................al

Re: Illinois BOWHUNTERS get ALL of RUT!! Alright, now that Im not at work, here is my two and 1/2 cents worth....being from Northern Illinois, and realizing the potential of our deer herd, and hearing more than a few thousand shots this past weekend, and the weekend two weeks before that....I feel that November should be given to the bowhunters, so the bucks can breed.....I also feel that the tags for does should flow easily as well....definately enough does...and our gun season should be open 14 days long, no breaking it up, two weeks straight....that way, not all the shooting is done for a three day weekend, and people that unfortunately have obligations can at least work it out during the week....and I to be honest with you, have a real problem with the extremely "late season" tags now being offered for a late January hunt.....the does have fawns developed in them, and its kinda disturbing..............maybe this was 3 cents worth...lol..........great meeting you this week Reflexdude, its about time you started to post....lol...........al

Re: my trophies of my bow season My trophies so far is my buddy Terry taking a deer of a lifetime in my brush blind I built, and had that 14 point non typical patterned with the help of the farmer, and getting my son Hunter in the woods all winter in the cold, only to count pheasants and dads missed shots during gun season, and carrying the arrows from my buddy Handgunner and Tony, broadheads from a blessed friend called Rhino and two deer decoys from a friend known as Billkay....I sure have been blessed in more ways than money and a good job......I give many thanks to all my forum friends..............al

Re: disabled needs help Tim...myself and Norm have tried to call you...we have people willing to help, and it is also my understanding that you have this same post on "several" websites...which isnt a bad thing, its just that we have several great people on this forum, that need to be updated on this progress....and I am in Northern Illinois, and if you could please keep me posted on this progress, it would greatly be appreciated.....it is unfortunate, but you have to understand that some people have been known to take advantage of our kindness...we will do our best to find you what you need, and I may even have somwhere to hunt for you in better weather, but please keep us posted. al winstead (815) 234-7845 Byron, Illinois

Re: labradoodles This breed?? is going nuts in my area...here is why...you get the gentle nature and hunting ability from both breeds, and the dogs are allergy free because of the breeding.....people that couldnt have a dog before have no side effects with this breed....and they dont shed, are hearty dogs that can withstand Illinois weather, but I feel some yuppy started this deal, and is laughing all the way to the bank...al
