  1. Re: Oklahoma Bow Camp I used google earth. I use this all the time and it gives great maps. You can download it free at google.com Only about an eight hour drive for me. I think I will come hunt for a few days......
  2. Re: Oklahoma Bow Camp does anyone have a link to some good maps of the area. I am having problems finding one on the oklahoma dnr page.
  3. Re: Oklahoma Bow Camp Is this an okie thing only, or can a stranger from saint louie tag along? Always up for hunting a new spot with cool guys.
  4. Re: Miss.... Again!!! If I decide I am shooting I don't look at anything but that front sholder. I don't look at the rack or anyting once I decide it is a shooter. That helps me..........
  5. Re: Guilty By Association? That really does suck. But you can't beat yourself up over it. All you can do is continue to teach this guy and give him some do's and don'ts about tracking. Everyone has learning experiences like this.

    First bow

Re: First bow Thats a great bow for your first one, I shoot the same and love it. Good luck out there.
  7. Re: Is my crossbow EVIL??? I picked up bowhunting because of the extended season and liberal limits. If you have the chance to shoot a crossbow and you want the experience go for it. I think it is great that your state allows you to do it.
  8. Re: Before and After Shots thats a nice deer, congrats.
  9. Re: Poached Deer Pic, [ QUOTE ] I can see why you want to give the head and rack away. It will make it easier to forget this horrible incident. I wouldn't want the head hanging on my wall as a reminder of a buck that should have been mine. If you don't want to press charges, that is your decision because it is your land. But I think you should at least print out this thread and make the kid read it, so he can see how other real hunters feel about what he has done. Hunters that are not as forgiving as yourself. So he knows what will probably happen next time he hunts without permission. [/ QUOTE ] I think making the kid read this will make him realize how lucky he is that you are a man of GOD and you stood by your beliefs and that he may not be so lucky next time. And again, I think you did the right thing, it was your call and you did what you felt was best. Good for you.
  10. Re: PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFTT so why are you typing in the forum? go get em..... good luck out there.

  16. Re: my son scored this evening that is so awesome, i love when kids get a crack at them. congrats to your son and you
  17. Re: check out this pig!!!! thats a great deer, congrats to your buddy.
  18. Re: Blood on the tailgate.... you have to like seeing a smile on someones face from a good bow kill, congrats.
  19. Re: WHAT IS THE BEST BAIT TO USE I think corn is great, but if that is not working try buying a 25 pound bag of apples and quartering or splitting them and putting them out. Also I know it sounds strange but if you nail a jar of peanut butter to a tree at your bait pile deer will find it and love it.......
  20. Re: My brothers\' buck Congrats to your brother, thats a great deer, and it looks like he is happy with it.
  21. Re: What to do? and What I did....... I have a blind on Dresser and a blind on Stagg here in MO, not bad hunting DU Man. 10/28 and we will be chasing birds, anyway thanks for the perspective.
  22. Re: I officially hate State Land some of my friends and i hunt real close during bow season when we hunt certain spots because we like to watch the other shoot deer and watch how they handle things. i have shot and seen quite a few deer shot sitting just thirty or forty yards from people, don't give up.
  23. Re: Got my mojo back.............. having confidence and being comfortable with you equipment make a huge difference when you get a shot. sounds like you have both, good luck getting on a deer.
  24. Re: What to do? and What I did....... I AGREE, HE MAY NOT HAVE KNOWN, AND NO IT IS NOT MY TREE, BUT IT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT HIS EITHER. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN GETTING SOMEONE IN TROUBLE OVER TREE PEGS. IT BOTHERS ME THAT HE USED THEM BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO, BUT THAT IS HIS DEAL NOT MINE. I THINK I AM GOING TO LEAVE HIM A LITTLE NOT ASKING HIM TO AT LEAST REOMOVE THE PEGS SO I CAN PUT A CLIMBER UP UNDER HIS STAND, BUT HOW DUMB IS THAT, NOW I AM IN A STAND UNDER A STAND??????
  25. Re: Poached Deer Pic, don't split hairs, it was taken using legals means, he did not spot light or anything, so legal means. but off of jbecks land means poached, even if not in a court of law in the court of hunters it is poached.
