  2. Re: Winchester X-tended range ammo.... I'm hearing more and more about this ammo, and might have to give them a try someday.
  3. Re: Asking Permission If you get turned down from that particular farmer, ask a landowner that lives next door. Turkeys don't know about "property lines"!!
  4. Re: Need Help!!...Striker Turthfully, when they came out with that multi-striker tip combo, I tried it out and wasn't impressed with the sound over my regular strikers. I gave it to my Nephew.
  5. Re: Patterned 835 = Win X and Nitro 4x5x7 Awesome patterns!!! I'd have to say you bested me and my Nitro/Rhino set-up with your pellet counts!! But I'm shooting the 3" Nitro H378 load.

    Decoys

Re: Decoys If your right handed, place the jake decoy about 20 yards towards your left side where you can get the best shot off. Then face the jake decoy "TOWARDS" you. A gobbler will come face to face with another male bird, this way his tail fan will be facing towards you, and you will be able to make your move without him seeing you, since his head will be blocked by his fan. Next, set up a hen decoy about 8 yards away from the jake, and have her facing away from your set-up. A Gobbler will always approach a hen from the rear. If and when a gobbler does show, he'll approach the jake deek first before going to that hen. Be ready, and have your gun on or pointing near the jake, that's where the gobbler should show up first!! Good luck.
  7. Re: turkey pic Dad\'s gobbler Nice bird!! Just curious, what were his stats? Weight, beard length, spur length?
  8. Re: TEAM: Turkey Tramps Thanks, I see it now!!
  9. Re: kicks choke tubes? .665 or .655 Remember, #4's will hit the hardest, but there isn't as many pellets inside the shell compared to the other two. While #6's have the most shot inside per Oz, they still don't hit as hard as #5's or #4's!!! I'd personally go with #5's and get the best of both worlds. Better energy levels than #6's and better patterns than #4's!!
  10. Re: Just a teaser.... That will get the juices flowing!!
  11. I haven't seen anyone post this yet, so let me be the first to say "Go Team"!!!

  15. Re: Successful Opening Day WTG!!!!
  16. Re: New decoy set... Now what? I use three decoys as well. A jake and two hens, but I like the looks of the feeding position hen decoys much better. It adds to the illusion!! This is one put out by Delta, which looks awesome!!
  17. Re: Season Opener Today: How to save on Turkey loads. WTG on the nice double!!! Impressive pic's too!!
  18. Re: Off hand shooting You betcha Nut!!!! Last years bird was an "off-hand" shot out in a field.
  19. Re: kicks choke tubes? .665 or .655 I agree with dogdoc's post!! The .665 choke restriction is the most popular of the bunch, especially with shooting #5's.
  20. Re: How long have you...... Serious for Gobblers only since 1992.
  21. Re: Where do you aim on the turkey? I agree with hevishot's post. Right on!!
  22. Re: rifled slug barrel I agree, a rifled barrel is designed to shoot Sabot slugs for the best accuracy. While the smooth bore works best with the Foster type of slugs. I have been getting some fine groups while using the Lightfield Sabot slugs out of my rifled deer barrel.
  23. Re: Patterned my Winchester 1300 for the first time Another 1300 user here as well. Mines the 1992 vintage with the NWTF engaving and laminated stock. I love this gun, and she's a shooter!!
  24. Re: A little something I\'ve been working on... Tim sure does some awesome work with those calls of his!!! Glad to see him venturing into the box calls as well!! They sure sound sweet!!
