  1. You know how many youngins' on this site just read that and said (while scratching their heads)..."what the heck is Donkey Kong"...lol
  2. Hey LL...long time no see! How you been? Good luck with that new gun...I'm sure you'll slam one or two
  3. How many times have they been fired/reloaded?
  4. Looking good...I should be able to start posting up some pics of the garage addition (hopefully soon). Trees and rocks gone...stakes in the ground...now pounded by snow...lol

    Snow?

Just spent the last 7 hours digging out...lol Didn't meassure it...but I know for the most part its above my knees...drifts are something else!
  6. I'll be there...but not til Fri. the 12th. Wish you and Ralph were going to be there that long...would have liked to met you two!
  7. The idea is for folks to become "contributing" members of our forums...not just to sign up to win a contest! Thats why we put those rules in place....now that I see you have your 50 posts...will you be around after the turkey contest?
  8. You letting Carmen come in there and shoot all your good bucks before they breed...lol
  9. If you have no riffle barrels now...I'd opt for a .300 win mag! It will more than do the job for speed goats and muley's...plus you'll have a great cal. to go elk huntin' in the future!
  10. Unless your wife is used to shooting...I wouldn't recommend any semi-auto for a protection gun. Revolvers are safer and easier to make go bang in an all ready scary situation. The gun is no good if she's not 100% on using it correctly. I vote for a snub nose .38 with a bobbed hammer. Chances are (at least I hope) she'll never have to use it. So unless she is into guns...she'll prob. not shoot it much! Keep it simple!
  11. I usally tighten mine pretty tight...almost feels like I shouldn't go any tighter. There are torque specs. and wrenches for mounting scopes...but I don't know what the torques should be. Wheeler makes a gun/torque wrench. Personally...I'd say if you can tighten them more...you should be ok! Just don't go over board.
  12. Some day I'd like to make this show...just so darn far away!
  13. I'll be there...but prob. not til the 2nd weekend...guess I'll miss ya again this year tim.
  14. My pleasure...it sure is a purty piece of wood for a factory gun!
  15. Good deal John...thats a good PA buck!!!!!!!!! What taxidermist you go to?
  16. Never changed my OTPG status in my sig. since I got my .416. Just curious...what is my status?:bang:
  17. I just picked up a LCP...haven't shot it yet...but seems like a nice, well built gun!
  18. We got ticks...lol Hey Don, remember the guy I work with whose group got one yesterday...he sent me another pic on my phone today...#2 down! First one was around 250...they figure the one they got today to be just about the same weight class.
  19. Gotta ask about the big pink elephant standing in the corner...why do you have 4 calulators (3 being the same thing)?
  20. Looks good Don...I know Daisy meant alot to your dad and family! BTW, what kinda price did the PGC get for the permit? And do you know if a permit like that is the same price for all animals? Just curious, I hit an owl the other night with my truck...bounced off the windshield and then mirror. I stopped and it was surely dead...would have liked to get it mounted but wasn't sure of the process and fees I would be looking at.
  21. At work...but I got rid of it for now!
  22. Turns out the meat was bad... As I was gutting him...pudd asked me if I cut into the guts (he was downwind)...I said no! But I did notice a different (not awful bad smell, just different) smell. Well once they started skinning...they found a hole in his neck, like a pucture wound. Figured he got in a fight with another buck...any rate, he had NO fat from base of his head down to the front shoulders and it was full of pus. You could see the purple in the veins...like blood poisioning. Butcher said he'd been surprised if this buck would have made it through the winter seeing how he was already living off his fat. Shame...he seemed like a big healthy deer...didn't even notice the hole in the neck...but now the smell makes sense!
  23. Thanks for the kind words everyone! Your right...its not easy...but it was a little easier than I thought. Guess it was because I knew it was time and he a good full life. Many good times! My lab seems lonely though...but I told the wife that I'm done with pets. Not just dogs...pets in general. Its not fair to them, because with my son's condition and his therapy appointments...not enough time in a day to spend good quailty time with a pet. So I don't see us getting another dog any time soon...my lab isn't a young pup anymore either and will have to prob. go through all this again in the next 4-5 years! It hurts...and I miss Stratton alot...but I know it was the right thing to do and he's in a better place! I kinda hope he's running with my other Rotty (Briggs).
