  1. Yeah...just curious bc I know Keystone State park is close to rt. 22 and Unit 2D. 2D is a 4pt. and your correct, 2C is a 3pt. I wish the entire state was a 4pt...I live in 2E (3pt.) but I hunt alot in Clarksburg which is 2D (4pt.)
  2. Without looking....I believe they are Winchesters...125 gr. hollow pts. Worked great outta my old .30-30 and did a number on a doe at about 75 yards!
  3. BTW, what unit is that your hunting?
  4. Congrats...nothing wrong with that buck! I know the are well...I lived and grew up in Blairsville.
  5. Didn't your pack come with some extra "o" rings? I had one that wouldn't "click" into the o ring last season...replaced the o ring with a new one and whala...works fine. I know, shouldn't have to since they are new and all...but sure beats taking them back to the store!
  6. I thought maybe so...that is a good spot...just not for me...lol New guy on the bear hunt? Some fresh blood for the drives!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Seen three nice long beards today...one even had a double beard with real nice spurs!
  8. Ditto...I don't care if the land is not posted...if YOU are not paying the property taxes...then you have no right being there without asking permission! If they are "good" people...they'll take the time to ask permission. Otherwise they are breaking the law...most good people don't purposly break the law!
  9. Congrats Jordan...thats an awesome first buck! With a bow none the less...I'm very happy for you, that will be a life long memory for sure!!!! Bet momma and poppa are very proud!
  10. I emailed another friend to see if he'd be interested since he's retired and all.
  11. I'm kinda leaning towards a turkey as well. Thats one short legged, straight backed, bent tailed dog...lol I can see both...but I'd lean towards a turkey coming into the feeder. Have you ever had turkey's come to your feeder before?
  12. Some states are different...but in PA, you DO NOT have to have your land posted. If its not your land, and you don't have permission, then your tresspassing! I would contact police (its a civil case) unless the person hunts the stand and kills something...then contact the game comm. (its trespassing and poaching then). However, I would personally take the stand down...no note....nothing. I'd be sure to be in the area well before first light in my stand and wait for the person to show. What? You had a stand here...haven't seen it! BTW, do you have permission to be here? LOL
  13. Gettin' everything together as I type...waiting for my clothes to come out of the dryer! Don't really get too pumped for early season...but it will be nice to get out and sit in a tree. Good luck everyone!!!!
  14. Ahhhhhhhh...I remember those days! Looking good...hope everything continues to go smooth for ya!
  15. Thanks...I'll try that size and see if it works!
  16. Yeah...hoping once we get the garage/apartment built...the plan is leave an area in the back of the garage to box in a room for my hunting stuff. I'd like to build a bench in there! Was going to build one in the basement....just plain ran out of room.
  17. If I can...I prefer to shoot sitting anyways. Much more stable than standing...but keeping the "T" form is the key! I never aim anywhere I don't want to hit...on the ground or in a stand.
  18. That story touched me more than you'll ever know...thanks for sharing!
  19. If you reload...get one! If you don't, finding ammo is a little harder than the .22-250 or .204. I have a .22-250 and .204 and would prefer the swift but because of the above statement is why I own the other two.
  20. Boo hoo.... Coulda went to work at 5am!!!!!!!!!!
  21. I'll be there...I'm sure pudd will be there and I asked my future brother-in-law if he'd like to come! More the merrier...would love to see some new faces, there are alot of forum member on here that aren't that far of a drive.
  22. Replaced the factory 16" steel/chrome wheels with 17" Ultra's polished alum. wheels. Went from a 245/75/16 tire to a 265/70/17 tire. Westin stainless bull bar, Nasta stainless step bars, vent shades, bug deflector, and tinted the front side windows. Wanted to change out the muffler/tail pipe with a new catback system...but the wife wasn't real happy about the $ I already spent :hammer1:...so I'm happy for now!
  23. Its a shame his left side isn't the same as the right side...he def. lost some size after losing the velvet. Dunno...may still have to whack him if he offers the shot. This is a "good" buck for this area...seen better...but alot that aren't as good...whatcha think?
