My opinion...01 won that race! He went high...the 20 car went high to block...the 01 went low and had his front end under Tony. Tony cam low (to block) and the 01 (ROOKIE) made a smart move under the yellow line so not to wreck a chase contender and/or the rest of the field. He was forced down there and made a smart choice...next time I think you'll see guys just wrecking the lead car and we can watch them shed a tear about it. If I were in the 01 car...when Tony came down...I would have turned right and watched him spin in the grass! Either way...don't really care! However, I think Nascar blew it by not at least giving the 01 2nd place. Its not like he had time to get back in line and not advance his position...last lap, last turn. These restrictor plate races and yellow line crap just stinks. They should do away with the yellow line and cut the pavement off right there...back fill with gravel! That will stop them from going down there.

Just thought of something that could make millions..... A rangefinder that not only tells you the yardage to the deer...but also shows crossairs of 28 1/2' in front and 3' drop of a running deer...all incorperated into your scope! That would really take the guess work out of it.

I think it also depends on how hard the guide worked. I've tipped guides $100 when I didn't kill anything just because I know they tried. Been on other hunts where seen the guides get nothing from the hunters because they didn't do much or put much effort into it. I wanted to "tip" Steve in CO after my elk...but he wouldn't take it. He busted his tail to help me...someday, somehow I'll show my thanks!

The Zeiss Conquest isn't outta the world higher than a Luepold VXII. Reall don't think you could go wrong with either one...on the cheaper side, Nikon is a good bang for the buck!

Well I maybe aquirring a new (used) OTPG gun. Wait and see what the guy wants to do...but basically a guy from work wants to sell off some guns. I gave him an offer for all of them (which I will sell) except for the Sako 75 hunter .300 win mag with a Luepold 3-9 that is only about 5 years old. I'll keep ya all updated and with pics. if I get it. BTW, if I get it...that means I got some others for sale!

There are so many choices...but I'd personally go a little bigger than a .243 for deer. The .308 is a great cal. that I'm sure you could handle. There are alot of other cal. that (IMO) are a better choice than a .243 with little recoil...257 WBY, .25 WSSM, .25-06...heck even a 7mm-08 is a great cal.

Outta the top 12...I'd like to see Kevin Harvick or Jeff Burton win it! Hard to say...the Rousch cars are running good, Biffle just started to turn up the heat...but I don't think he'll keep it up. Carl has run good all year and def. a contender. I also think JJ is the team to beat because of how they perform in the chase. However, Harvick has slowly but surely finishing in the top 10 every week and moving up...he stays consitant...he maybe there in the end?

Took Pete out spotting Sat. night...didn't talk much about his mom, thought it would be a good way to take his mind off of things for an hour or two. Seen some good bucks and lots of does...all in all he seems to be doing pretty well. Tom. (Tuesday) is the funeral...I will let him know about this thread after that. Thanks everyone...I'm sure it means alot to Pete and his family!

I'd say skunk as well...if you know or have an idea where its living...pour some amonia around. Don't know why...but they don't like the smell and leave.

Many of you know my best friend as Pudd on the forums...he and his family could use some thoughts and prayers. Pete's (Pudd) mom passed away yesterday (Thurs.) and its been a tough road for him, his dad and family. Barb was a great woman, kind, soft spoken and always treated me like her son as she would have with anyone. She is in a better place now and is at rest with God at home. You can never prepare for something like this, but I think everyone that knew her, knew she was in alot of pain for sometime and was at peace with going home. Its tough for me to type this and I know Pudd would never come on here asking for thoughts and prayers. So if you have a second...please keep Pete, his dad (also Pete) and his sister Dana in your thoughts and maybe a prayer to help through this tough time.
