  1. A win is a win and the Browns didn't get it!
  2. I also have a Henry .22lr lever gun...no real complaints! Its not a Winchester 9422....but its prob. cheaper and easier to find. Get the Henry, you won't be disappointed. Just make sure to check that the gun is unloaded when you take it out of the box or off a shelf. Not to long ago, Henry released a report to wholesalers about some guns getting out with Ammo in them. Wholesalers checked...but sent messages out to dealers to check any inventory guns. Just goes to show...never can be too safe!
  3. Another vote for Nikon ATB's...I have the 10X42's and love them. Buddy of mine had a pair of Alpen's (which were nice in their own right) but soon bought a pair of Nikon's after looking through mine.
  4. I say delete this thread...its pointless! He's not willing to clear his good name...then so be it, but to keep this thread going with no response from him is a waste of time and server space!!
  5. Packers Bears Jaguars Chiefs Colts Saints Broncos NY Jets Steelers Monday Night: Cowboys Under 46.5 Btw...I stuck this thread if any other mod. is interested.
  6. Yes the date is correct...and no I haven't been there yet this year. Although I believe we are going to grandfathers sometime next month for some kind of party...I'll be sure to pay a visit with the camera!
  7. Welcome aboard 4ever...I've hunted up there in N.B. Can. Beautiful area...hope to make it back sometime.

    .243

Guess its up to the person shooting the gun. Will a .243 kill a deer? Yes, is it the best choice? In my opinion No! Anything that will kill a deer will kill foxes, yotes and groundhogs...with that said, I'd prefer to use something a little larger for deer. To me, a .25 cal. (.25 WSSM, .25-06, .250 sav. to name a few) should be the min. when hunting deer. Just my opinion!
  9. Its not a "Weatherby" per say...its a Weatherby Vanguard made by Howa. I believe all the Vanguards are made by Howa...thats why they are cheaper. Not that they are not good guns...just a cheaper line.
  10. LOL...I seen a different game that went something like this...Texas team gets whoop down on by a Pennsylvaina team.
  11. I actually agree with ya Nick...and if Kyle is upset...I'm sure his opinion will change when he sees the replays. It was pretty clear that Kyle was coming down and didn't know Jr. was there. And you could clearly see Jr. lock up his left front to try and avoid the wreck. That was good ole racing and the guy who screwed up got the worse end of the deal. Thats how it should work!
  12. I would like to hunt with you someday Tim...but I ain't paying...lol I figured just being in my presence would be enough for you to agree! Watcha think?
  13. I just got the pro series as well...I didn't have a tough time spending the money...feel like its worth it, even if I don't fall. I ended up getting the small/large vest. Since I'm 5'10" 170lbs., I was close to either size vest. The small/large fit better, since most of my stand hunting is done in archery season...figured I wouldn't be wearing alot of thick heavy clothing.
  14. I usally miss this every year then don't bother...seeing how the season didn't start...maybe I'll stick in there...lol Seattle New Orleans St. Louis Pittsburgh Jacksonville Dallas San Diego Arizona Monday Night games: Green Bay U 38.5 Denver U 41.5 BTW, Pittsburgh is spelled with an "H" on the end!

    peed off

49 ac. is plenty to hunt...esp. bordered by cut timber. Deer love fresh leaves...they'll be in the slashing eating/browsing the tops. Not to mention...they have a place to bed in and among the cuttings. Me personally...I wouldn't be afraid to hunt it...but I'd also have a "back-up" place to go just in case!
  16. Huh...1/2lb...I wouldn't have thunk it! I'm hoping to go somewhere this weekend and try on a small/med. I'm running outta time, and if I know me, if I wait to long...I won't get it.
  17. Why do you suppose that fox is hangin' around?
  18. I'd go with a standard bolt action rifle if I were you...something a bit bigger than .223. Maybe something in the .25 cal.? Here's why, your getting older and even though you can't use a rifle there for anything other than yotes...you may want to hunt somewhere else for deer. You can still kill yotes with a .25 cal. as you can a whitetail/mule deer etc... The AR's are fun...but most states don't allow those types of guns to hunt with and alot of states don't allow that small of cal. to hunt deer. Choice is yours...If I were buying a new gun, it would prob. be a Ruger #1 in a big bore cal.
  19. Will go to gunbroker soon!

    Caught ya!!!

Wish we had a little less of them around here...maybe more turkeys, rabbits, grouse would be around. They surely don't eat chipmunks...or at least can't catch them...lol.
  22. Yeah...this place had one of their bucks on the cover of outdoor life a few years back. They grow some dandy's! I like it because they don't charge anything to see the deer...they ask that you take no pets and don't smoke. They have a place (lock box) that you can give donations to help feed the deer...so I'm not sure what they raise them for...never seen anyone around to ask. There is a house there (assuming the owners) but they never come outside when someone is just walking around. They have a few spots that is off limits...but just a nice peaceful little place.
  23. Yes...you been there? I really like walking around their place, esp. around Christmas time...no one there and its peaceful to see the deer relaxed.
  24. This person has been banned....the threads will be gone shortly!
