I've got both an Ipad and a Kindle. For reading books only, the Kindle wins hands down. I normally read before I go to bed at night and with the Ipad being so bright, it hurts my eyes. For overall functionality, the Ipad wins. We play all kinds of apps and access the internet.

I owned one but didn't really have the need to do 6 at a time. I kept it for a while and then sold it and upgraded to a Bitz. I think the JJ would be fine. The one major difference is the quality of the construction. The JJ is flimsy compared to the rock solid Bitz. I know two pro-shops that started out with the JJ but then upgraded to the single Bitz.

Quarter inch of rain here. Drought still on. Trees are going dormant big time. Looks like fall. 9 out of the next 10 days are supposed to break 100. As of yesterday, Friday was supposed to be 109(actual temp, not "feels like").

I agree. Not sure what their motives are. I know Weyerhaueser is leasing up the remainder of their land...that could be it.

Nothing down here but HEAT. Rain has missed us the last two days. Also, for some reason, we have a serial arsonist in the area. In one day, 12 different fires were set.

Welcome back PW! Still shooting 3D and spots?

My first new sight was a Spot Hogg and I had the same problem. I was shooting a Fred Bear TRX. I was shooting bullet holes through paper so I know it wasn't a tuning issue. I put on a Copper John and shot lights out. Actually shot a 228 on a 20 target ASA course at one time. Looking back, it could be a problem with my form, I'm not sure. Wish I could be of more help, though.

Noticed that here as well. They're currently "upgrading" our Wal-mart so everything is being moved around. But I did see 4 or 5 crossbows in the archery section.

How many sight pins do you hunt with? This year, I'm switching from 5 to 1. I'm going to give HHA single pin a try. The single up pin was a chore getting used to....couldn't help but think that it was blocking too much of my sight view. But after a couple hundred shots, I'm getting used to it. Game plan is to set it on 25 yards and not mess with it unless I have the time to range a deer before shooting.

I've been waking up early and shooting between 6:30 and 7:30 every morning. About 7:30, though, the sweat starts to bead up.

Great news on the surgery going well! Sorry so late ready this post Chris. Prayers going up for a speedy recovery!

Sorry....too much bowhunting on the brain....42 feet on the pitcher's mound.

Machine pitch is where they put a Jugs pitching machine 42 yards away from home plate and set it on 40 mph and give the kids 5 pitches or 3 strikes to put the ball in play.

Well....sort of...LOL. My son made the 7 & 8 year old Machine Pitch All Star team. We just got back from the Texas State tournament where we placed 4th. Which isn't bad considering there was 12 teams at the State tournament and over 50 including district tournament teams. Anyway, the top 4 teams are invited to the World Series in Missisippi. Bad news is that we have a few players that can't make it so we're having to turn down the opportunity. But its a major accomplishment nonetheless. Proud of our boys. Also, our team was voted the Sportsmanship award as well!
