  1. Bit of an update.............. Hit the forage plot with 500 # of 15-15-15 two weeks ago, right before a good rain. The field was basically seeded in thirds with Barnopoli rape, PTT and kale. The Barnopoli, for all purpose did nothing. VERY little even came up. The PTT and kale is like a freakin' carpet !!!!!!!! Don't understand why the Barnopoli farted and the other two boomed. But I guess, chalk it up to a learning experience and know what NOT to buy next year.
  2. Getting into the discussion late, but............. the Pro-Staff 7's are darned nice glasses for the money.
  3. "We recognize that the individual right to bear arms is an important part of the American tradition, and we will preserve Americans' Second Amendment right to own and use firearms. We believe that the right to own firearms is subject to reasonable regulation. We understand the terrible consequences of gun violence; it serves as a reminder that life is fragile, and our time here is limited and precious. We believe in an honest, open national conversation about firearms. We can focus on effective enforcement of existing laws, especially strengthening our background check system, and we can work together to enact commonsense improvements—like reinstating the assault weapons ban and closing the gun show loophole—so that guns do not fall into the hands of those irresponsible, law-breaking few."
  4. That's why the Declaration of Independence reads thusly: "....to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them...." "....all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator..." And the Constitution was ratified on "..the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven....." And all are capitalized. The founders didn't think it was such a bad idea to mix politics and religion. They just thought it was a bad idea for government to sanction a state religion. And, my oh my, how far out a flimsy limb the ACLU lawyers have taken that one !!!!

  18. You puppy !!! I was actually at Herter's in Mitchell, SD in 1976. My first bow and dozen of Port Orford cedar arrows came from Herter's mail order, too. At any rate................congrats on I.D.'ing a gun most gun guys never knew existed. As an aside....................the same revolver also came in .357 and .44 mag. It also had a baby brother in .22 rimfire. My dad has one of those. He bought it back when you still could order handguns from a catalog and get them mailed to you.
  19. Guy I used to know bought a Sig 229 right after I got my G23. He paid somewhere around $250 more for it and I would not have traded him even up. NO WAY !! He liked it. I hated it. Go figger.
  20. Ford...........Chevy........Dodge............... :fish: Sidearm choice is VERY MUCH an individual preference deal. I can't stand 1911's. That's just me. Could never see the point in lugging a CCW that weighed as much empty as my Glocks weigh loaded. Also............Preferring Glocks as I do......... the Springfield XD's feel like deckposts in my hand. Like the M&P. Despise most Taurus autos. Love some of the Taurus wheelguns. Try what you think. Buy what you like.
