  1. My personal feeling on the Glocks is that, for a fight stopping sidearm, they have no rival in function and durability. That and NOBODY else make a compact 10mm, which is, IMHO, the Holy Grail in fight stopping. My absolute favorite gun to shoot is a Browning Hi-Power............ ala the 1911 with all the things John Moses figured needed fixing. I LOVE my Hi-Power !!!!!!
  2. Is this a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 lb. kit ?? I think I have been missing something for years by not putting the trigger kits on my Glocks. I actually think the factory triggers are pretty good.......once you get used to the "Glock pull"........but have heard from others they REALLY benefit from the parts upgrade.
  3. Who cares what he scores ?? BEAUTIFUL buck !!!!!!!! Hope to see a pic of you sitting behind him holding those big antlers this season !!!!! Best of luck to ya !!!

    sweating

Exactly what the others have said. Several of my stands are a long walk and the first 400 yards or so is a steep, uphill pull. I have walked in when it was in the single digits in just a thin base layer (much like Under Armour Heat Gear). All my other layers were in my pack. I get up in the stand and tied in and sat down. When I start getting cold, I put on the next layer until I am all dressed. Takes 1/2 or more sometimes to get everything on.
  5. The full-size .40 Glock is the G22. I believe it's a 15+1 gun. IMHO, if you want to carry it concealed, you would be MUCH happier with the compact G23. It is a 13+1 gun. Here's a rundown of the Glock line: Full Line of Pistols | GLOCK USA
  6. Here's a vote for the Glocks. New, used or otherwise................ I've got 3 of them. They are absolutely reliable. I do not have any idea how many rounds have gone through the 3 of them combined. But none has ever failed to go BANG and cycle when the trigger was pulled. You are MORE than welcome to run up here and run them all 'til your heart's content if you want. There's a G23, a G27 and a G29.

    New car

SWEET car !!! Cool logo !!! But what is that HORRIBLE looking camo pattern ??????!!!!!!!!!
  8. Good luck up there, eh, Tim !! Best of luck on the TV gig, too, eh !!
  9. Didn't hurt the walleyes at all. But had a nice day on the water. Me & Lil dragged the 4-Winns and my mom and dad brought their boat. We went to the Allegheny Reservoir or Kinzua Dam in the northern tier today. It's just about a square 100 mile trip to get there. Both boats performed great !! I put the trolling plate on the 115 on the 4-Winns and was able to troll at .9-1.3 mph !!!!! My dad was passing me with his 9.9 kicker motor !!!! Nary a walleye to show for the day. Lil did jig up a dandy hunk of bark !! I got 2 smallmouth. One was about 10 inches, maybe. The second was 3-3 1/2 lbs. I suppose. Didn't weigh it. But I thought for a while that had a good walleye. Nope. Goofy bass. Don't think Mom & Dad even got a bite. There was a TON of Labor Day boat traffic. Skiiers, tubers, and big-block Baja's..........it was darned near impossible to keep boat position. Mom & Dad's boat is a bit smaller than mine and took a worse beating from the wakes. Here they are on the run back to dock. All in all a good day.
  10. So you sorta cheated ?? But you DID get it !!!! CONGRATS !!!!!! Had u ever heard of the gun before ????
  11. Ding ding ding !!!!!! Weeeeeee have a winnerrrrrrrr !!!! You are precisely correct !!! A pair of Herter's .401 Power Mags it is.
  12. Good to see ya back Griz !!!!!!!!
  13. Thank God you were all kept safe !!! That's a lot of rain and some pretty trying extenuating circumstances to have to deal with yourself.
  14. I actually have no use for the .30-06. I bought it for the Mauser action which will, one day, be donated to a much more interesting project.
  15. You are awfully warm.......... but still a ways away. Of the pair of revolvers, one was mfd in 1965 and the other in 1966.
  16. Pretty darned warm !! But it's not a .44 and it branded under a different brand name. But manufactured by Sauer and Sohn it was.
  17. Hey, Bill !!!!!! Great to see you back around !!!!! Amazingly........ I own one .30-06 and have NEVER fired a round through it.
  18. Nope. I was not made in America.
  19. Another good guess......... but no. Few more good tries and I'll slip another clue.
  20. Saw the first cleaned antlers of the year tonite !! On my way home from work.........little foot-wide 8-pointer standing beside the road all rubbed off and ready to go.
  21. Nice tries !! But not close. Here's another clue: The smallest cartridge in the pics is a .357 Magnum.
  22. I am a single action revolver. There are two of me pictured below (the left one of me has had some of the top of my frame milled for scope mounting somewhere in the past). I am not currently in production, nor have I been for a number of decades. I fire the cartridge pictured in the center of the top picture and on the left in the second picture. No more clues for now. Who am I ?? Gun and cartridge.
  23. From Dayton to Virginia................... whoa !! There's gonna be some culture shock !!! Wish I could help ya with a huntin spot down there. But I only know a few in the extreme western part. Don't worry. I'll keep these 2D monster bucks under control.
