Re: Monster Bucks 14. Once again, I suggest bringing back the tourney, and letting a few of the Tournament shooting Mods take on the Realtree boys.

Re: Broadheads NAP Spitfire Gobbler Getters ....but if you wanna go crazy, then get some longer arrows with 5" feathers and try the Gobbler Guillatines.

Re: Realtree Turkey Team #24 I still have then going bonkers on my land, but getting them to close that last bit of distance is the tough part.........I'll be out there tomorrow, and sunday morning, working them hard.

Re: We waste money! [ QUOTE ] Feel free to check my math on this. I only went through it once. I was just thinking about how much money we spend on a regular basis without thinking about it. My wife and I decided to start cutting cost in attempt to become basically debt free. We are cutting a lot of things and starting “plans” to pay everything off. I’ve recently noticed that most restaurants charge around $1.89 for a soda (pop for all us southerners). Here is a little useless math so you can get the jest of what it is actually costing for Soda…. 1.89 + 10% tax = 2.08 per trip. 2.08 (x2) eating out per week = $4.16 a week or $216.32 a year. That doesn’t sound expensive but $200 a year adds up. Also, imagine if you have one kid and a wife… That’s $648.96 a year! Imagine if you drank water and instead bought 2-liter bottles of soda with that $216.32 and took it home. At most grocery stores around here a 2-liter runs about $1.30. I see sales all the time for $1 but we will go with a standard. You can buy 166.4 2-liters for that same $216.32. There are 67.63 oz in a two liter so over the course of a year you have purchased 11, 253.63oz of soda. If you figure you drink on average 20oz of soda at one sitting you will get 562.68 servings by simply only drinking soda at home. If you drank soda everyday you it would take you 1.542 years to drink the same amount of soda. Or over 5-years to drink that amount if you stuck to drinking it twice a week with dinner….. I certainly didn’t realize how much I was spending on stupid stuff! We have switched to drinking only water when eating out. If we eat out twice a week (which we pretty much no longer do either) then we will save 432.64 annually! That’s net income folks… We were basically drinking just under half a week of my gross income in soda…. [/ QUOTE ] Stop eating out so much and you'll save a bundle, lol.

Re: What are you getting new for next year? New Camo, a new rangefinder, and broadheads.....that's it for now.

Re: Stars under your username? It was a good idea, but we don't want a popularity contest here.

Re: Split Arrow I don't know......that split isn't dead center, so I think you should keep trying, lol.

Re: Moderator nearly KILLED me!!!! Shawn, you were the man for just keeping up. I've been doing that hike for over 26 years and God willing, I'll continue to do it until I die. We had some great gobblers going and the hiking was a blast......not to mention the lesson in yardage estimation we received from my father, LMAO. If y'all look in the photo, you'll see a little speck above the tree line to the left of the cliff.......those are 2 giant pines and we were 100 feet above those in the ledges, lol. I can't wait to get back up there......my paradise. Shawn, I'm sorry we didn't get you that bird, but this will be a weekend I won't soon forget.......now start working on those leg muscles for your next trip down.

Re: Pop quiz hot shots It would be the moment before it leaves the string......as the arrow leaves the string, there is slight resistance in the form of the nock's design and the way it clips on the string. That slight resistance is enough to slow the arrow down a few FPS.

Thunderous gobbling unlooked for...!!! (long)

Re: Thunderous gobbling unlooked for...!!! (long) Shawn, I'll try to get one so close this weekend that you'll feel the ground shake under you when he gobbles. That's what it was like with the last one I shot. Remember one thing about last year.......Vermont's season was bad all over, so disregard the bad from last year. With the mild winter this year, and the way these things breed, you guys are finally in for some great turkeys up your way in the next few years. -
Re: Antler Restrictions? [ QUOTE ] Again, I ask: [ QUOTE ] 95% of bucks in NY don't qualify to be harvested under AR? [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Exactly....what are you basing this on, Doc? There isn't even an AR in place yet, and already you know that 95% won't be huntable?

Re: Intelligence Test [ QUOTE ] 10 out of 11...the pills got me. [/ QUOTE ] Just Say NO!!!

Re: Mack or Kenworth I'd take the Kenworth over the Mack.....but I'd prefer a Western Star to any of them.

Re: Favorite grandparents? My mom's parents hands down. Grandpa brought me to get my driver's license when I was old enough, and he never let anyone talk badly about any of his grandkids........he didn't care who it was......Grandma just turned 70 and she's still going strong......she rollerblades every weekend now that she's retired from dispatching at the Winooski Police Dept. I was crushed, and went into an alchoholic depression when Grandpa died.........I still can't hear "He Stopped Loving Her Today" without bawling......it was played at his funeral by his own request.

Re: How big is your family?? I can't go anywhere without meeting someone I'm related to......if you go back enough, I'm probably related to every one in Vermont.

Re: No Means NO!!!!!!!! "Not For Sale" signs work well......unless the people stopping have a hard time reading and comprehending, and comprehending seems to be their big problem, lol.
