  1. Re: Anyone use a G5 sight? Should I be offended, here? What would make you think I would want to stop shooting a Hoyt for a Mathews, lol.........besides, I shoot better then him, unless there's a turkey on the receiving end of the arrow.
  2. Re: Peep, Kisser, or both I used both in the past, but now I only use a peep. I feel like I can adjust my grip a little better at full draw without the peep.
  3. Re: expandables in pa Sounds like they're legal to me........but the Crimson Talon heads would be out with that definition.
  4. Re: How often are you guys shooting? I shoot whenever time allows......most of my practice comes at 3D shoots, and then some in the backyard.
  5. Re: I have a dilemma...(long post) Ruth, stick with what got you to this point. You're right eye dominant, so it would be more difficult for you to learn to shoot left handed. And an interesting side note is that it's much more difficult to find left handed accessories for archery. Hope this helps.
  6. Re: 85 gr thunderhead illegal in Oklahoma? Gator, good luck to ya......I don't know if I can be of any help but you'll have my support. This rule is an odd one for sure. Some states don't allow Crimson Talon style heads either due to the fact that the blades aren't "In Line" with the ferrel..........another dopey law.
  7. Re: Increasing draw weight If you have the money, get yourself a back tension release and practice with that.......it will condition those muscles to get you up in draw weight with a regular release.
  8. Re: 85 gr thunderhead illegal in Oklahoma? Y'all have a length requirement? I can understand the diameter, but why length?
  9. Re: WOW,, where did the time go.... Luke, how much is your bank account lovin' ya right now, lol. It's amazing how much money you save after quitting. I don't think smokers really know how much they blow on smokes until they quit.
  10. Re: Very Special Gift That's very cool, Luke. Most marble work is done here in Rutland County around Proctor, and it's quite the process to see.
  11. Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? It was uncalled for, and probably not the best idea to place that photo on a website that is frequented by anti hunting sorts. I do agree with you in this.........sickening.
  12. Re: Throwing in the towel.... Bob, I still love you, LMAO...... ........You can use my Hoyt for a chalk when you let me use your Mathews for it's intended purpose........A boat anchor, LMAO.
  13. Re: What do YOU think? [ QUOTE ] I would say that the story is probably valid, however; they were 18-22 years old, many of whom have probably not fired or been around guns much. I would say that the study should be conducted with a broader age range. I also think they are comparing gun handling with the wrong things....try power tools, hot rods, etc. I think they would find similar testosterone increases. Researchers can always make data say what they want it to. [/ QUOTE ] Amen on all points.
  14. Re: Darwin Awards 2006 You can't cure stupid.
  15. Re: Throwing in the towel.... 257bob, Shawn is a very knowledgable archer, with a lot of experience........he's just a bit brand loyal, lol.......that or he doesn't want to hear BobD crying.
  16. Re: Throwing in the towel.... [ QUOTE ] OH BOY !! There goe's my prestige of the best shooter in town..... [/ QUOTE ] At least he didn't say the best shooter in the state. BobD, do I need to point my truck north and show you what a Hoyt can do?
  17. Re: Outback vs Switchback vs Switchback XT? Shawn, I've shot all 3 and the best by far was the first Switchback. The dual perimiter weights made a huge difference. This is an unbiased opinion, as I shoot a Hoyt Vtec.....but out of the 3 I'd go with the Switchback.

    Bow Mishaps

Re: Bow Mishaps Had the timing cable blow on my first Onieda Slappin' Chicken.
  19. Re: Best price on GoldTip XT5575s?? Fletched.
  20. Re: Parker bow question The Mathews/Parker thing started when the 2 companies worked together on the Genesis youth bows......that's it. Got that straight from a Mathews rep. and a Parker rep.
  21. Re: Best price on GoldTip XT5575s?? Shawn, Steve is selling them for $65 a dozen.
  22. Re: How many have gotten a TRUE robin hood? I've done it twice both were on purpose and both were due to someone questioning my ability. The first was when I was shooting a new bow........first arrow was in the bullseye, and my buddy said "You couldn't do it again if your tried". I told him "I'll go one step further and stick the arrow" He laughed for about 30 seconds, then he got to scrape his jaw off the ground, lol. The second was when I was putting my hunting pins on for turkeys earlier this year. Shot the first arrow and bullseye.........my son says "Dad that was luck" I told him "I'll robinhood that arrow then if you think it was luck" He says sure sure........then he stood there in shock when the arrow stuck the first, lol.
  23. Re: We are getting a Tractor Supply! We have one here, and it is a great store, but they seem to carry more stuff for everyday things, and less for actual farm needs.
  24. Re: How many deer have you harvested with your bow? I've killed every deer I've gotten with the bow. Not one with guns.
  25. Re: Superbowl champion Steelers/Panthers......Steelers are the first team with 6 rings.
