  1. Re: Immigration Debate Mexicans would be welcomed more if so many didn't cross the border illegally......the Government figures we've met our mexican quota for the decade already. They also come here with no money and no way to survive and that puts a greater drain on the economy. Back to the original topic. From what I hear, by next year, a passport will be required to cross the Canada/US border. Oh yeah, any child born to american citizens in a foreign country is born an american citizen and needs no card to prove it.....the birth certificate does that.
  2. Re: A Question of Crossbows [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Sure the crossbows have their place, but think that making them part of the archery season may some day eventually lead way to replacing the more traditional archery equipment completely. [/ QUOTE ] Crossbows "ARE" traditional bows. They've been around for thousands of years. It's the compound bows that are the new comers on the block. That argument doesn't hold water. [/ QUOTE ] My thoughts exactly......Crossbows have been around since medieval (sp?) times......compounds since what......the 50's?

    Math Trick!

Re: Math Trick! Not that hard to figure out, when you're using your phone number and all other factors are the same, you'll always come up with the only difference in the formula, which is your #.
  5. Re: Nervousness.....will it ever go away?????? The nervousness will go away in time, but you'll keep that newfound respect for what can happen for life.
  6. Re: Antler Restrictions? Doc, once again, you are more worried about the number of hunters in the woods and not what's best for the health of the herds. When it comes right down to it, I'm all for whatever improves the herd health, and if that means we have to lose a large number of hunters that don't get it, then so be it.
  7. Re: It\'s been a while.... Mark, you old dog you......congrats buddy. Getting married in the fall? Prior to bowseason I hope, lol.
  8. Re: Best Come Back Line of the Year Now THAT'S funny, LMAO.
  9. Re: work two jobs? I'm doing it now, and all I have to do is look at my bills and my kids to know that it's worth it.
  10. Re: Airforce One got tagged! Somewhere there's a Secret Service detail out of a job.
  11. Re: Can you eat FEATHERS (LOL)!!!! Bowhunting's version of catch and release....I love it, lol. By the way, if you come across that recipe, hold on to it......my season starts in 2 weeks, lol.
  12. Re: How can someone be so sick? Good thing they caught him before he became the next Dahmer.
  13. Re: Homemade strutter.........(pics) That's awesome, LMAO.
  14. Re: when should you replace a mech. release? I replace mine every year. You'd be amazed how quickly parts wear out when you shoot a lot.
  15. Re: Tying a String Loop I see the problem. Your knot has the rope crossing over itself so it can't properly tighten...plus the knots should be facing opposite directions...you could use a bit more burning on the end so the end will be bigger and not pull through.
  16. Re: First 3D shoot Sounds great. This thread would be better suited for the Competitive Archery room.
  17. Re: Crossbow Facts ** Great post, Steve. One big misconception I've noticed is that a crossbow is more powerful then a compound, and that's actually false.
  18. Re: Tying a String Loop [ QUOTE ] Tighten and then Burn. I'll get a pic up hopefully tomorrow, Thanks for the reply VT! [/ QUOTE ] I know when I tie them on, I'll tie it on, then I'll draw the bow back quite a few times to make sure it's good and tight, then I burn it, and it won't move......I definately want to see a pic to get an idea of the knot used.
  19. Re: Biffle\'s girlfriend [ QUOTE ] Robin Pemberton, vice president of competition [/ QUOTE ] That was the best "competition" Nascar has had this year, so I don't see why he's whining.
  20. Re: Off to Texas! Enjoy, Rhino, but remember, everything's bigger in Texas, so watch out for the Gobblers that could hunt you, lol.
  21. Re: I Need Help!!!!! UGH!!!! What a waste.
  22. Re: Tying a String Loop I would need to see the knot they told you to tie before I could recommend another, but the ones they show on all the packages I've ever seen are the only safe ones that should be used. Question. After you tied it on, did you burn the ends first then tighten it, or vice versa?
  23. Re: Biffle\'s girlfriend LOL, now family members can be reprimanded.......Nascar is just getting better all the time, LMAO.
  24. Re: What the true meaning is... LMAO, ok......that man just happened to be the son of God, but it's not religious.....LOL.
  25. Re: What the true meaning is... It's about candy, not religion.
