  2. Re: 2006 Competition scores Shot my first 3D of the year and shot like crap, lol. Realized after that I was anchoring wrong with the new B.T. Release so that threw me off big time.......now that I have that fixed, I'm driving tacks......and my buddy's arrows, lol.
  3. Re: Tony Stewart [ QUOTE ] I am a little upset that the broadcasters kept talking about Jeff's HUGE comeback from 26th and the didn't relly mention that Jr came back from 42nd. [/ QUOTE ] You're kidding right? They talked about Jr. coming back just as much as they talked about Gordon's comeback, and rightly so. They both did a great job. Stewart got really lucky with the last caution. Jeff was about to blow his doors off, and he got lucky again when Jeff got into the quickdry. Jeff was lucky he didn't wreck himself. Great race.......and I was happy to see Kenseth do so well, LMAO.
  4. Re: **Triple death in Illinois***** Al, that's great. Congrats to the boys, but congrats to you as well for passing the hunting on to your kids.
  5. Re: Antler restrictions in place in NY\'s 3H and 3K [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Maybe this is getting off the topic a bit but I attended a "State of the Herd " seminar tonight hosted by DEC'S Jim Farquar. This was in conjunction with the well advertised Outdoor show in Watertown NY. There were Five, YES, 5 people in attendance. My wife. my son, two disgruntled farmer landowners and me! Will someone tell me why they can feel they must degrade, bash or critisize DEC if they can't at least put in a little effort to hear them out. I lost a lot of respect for so called hunters this evening!!! Listen for the whining when things don't go their way! [/ QUOTE ] I have attended a few DEC public meetings also and have come away with the same impression. I can't for the life of me understand why hunters check their civility and decency at the door whenever they attend DEC meetings. It can be just plain embarrassing to listen to some of them. Do they somehow feel that by being crude and rude and just plain disagreeable, that somehow someone is going to take their arguments more seriously? I'm sure it works just the other way around. I know that if I were a DEC official and was faced with some of the un-professionalism shown by hunters at these meetings, I would really quick develop the attitude that these were a group of people that simply can't be reasoned with. Doc [/ QUOTE ] I was not criticing the folks who were there. All five of us were very civil. My point is, where were the other hunters around the area who will be whining in the future if things don't go their way? [/ QUOTE ] Exactly, and what good are these hunters when it comes to the fight to preserve hunting when they can't even come out to see what's going on in their own state?
  6. Re: Forgiving bow?? Forgiveness is all in the mind. It's the comfort level you have with your gear. Don't let yourself be fooled into all the garbage all companies throw at you. They tell you what you want to hear, because they know that if you're comfortable with your bow, then you'll be deadly with it.
  7. Re: Most talented driver? Sorry Racksie, but I'm right there with ya. I vote for me. Then in Nascar, it's Cole Trickle.
  8. Re: Cindarella Lost their slipper Looks like UCLA has this one wrapped up for the championship.
  9. Re: Gas prices fixing to rise again............... what's funny is that everyone is in here complaining about it.....y'all need to be contacting your officials.
  10. Re: VIDEO Games/MIND Food for children I'm with Horst on this one......I come from a family with a strong Law Enforcement history, and I support cops more then most, but this is a game. The parents need to pay more attention to what is going on with their kids, and you won't have the game so wide spread. You can not just ban this stuff. Companies have rights to put their product out there, and as of yet, they can't prove that a game will cause more deaths.
  11. Re: Green light! Ken, my guess would be that you would sacrifice speed and KE in exchange for a more forgiving bow with the LD......whereas the XT would be a bit less forgiving, but faster with higher KE.
  12. Re: Looking Better LOL, the blind leading the blind......this should get interesting in the near future, lol. Good Luck, Luke.
  13. Re: Antler restrictions in place in NY\'s 3H and 3K Excellent point LETMGROW.
  14. Re: What new toys this year for 3-d I'm sticking with the Vtec. I will have to order another dozen arrows, and I finally bought a backtension release. I got a Copper John 4 finger Eagle, and my shoulder and back are burning, but my shots are sequence is even easier then it was with a hunting release.

  18. Re: CottonTop: The Centennial Bird [ QUOTE ] Very well written. I just have one comment....your beard ain't red!!! [/ QUOTE ] That's what 20 years of chasing turkeys will do to ya, lol. Congrats on a great success, Redbeard.

    Dang Dog

Re: Dang Dog Went in Realtree......will come out RealLog!!!
  21. Re: May have to put it up... Look at it this way. You're young, and can afford to sit out one season to recoop from surgery.....or you can risk serious injury by trying to hunt, and then you'll never bowhunt again. I recommend sitting out one season instead of risking never bowhunting again.
  22. Re: 1st official \"Ramblings of two Idiots\" thread This place is only big enough for one giant ego, and that's mine........I was here first.

    WooHoo!

Re: WooHoo! [ QUOTE ] Last weekend we had frost both mornings with lows around the freezing mark and this weekend we may see 80+ degree weather with lows only in the 60's. That's spring in Dixie for ya. [/ QUOTE ] LOL, sounds a lot like spring in Vermont, too.
  24. Re: these whitetails r something [ QUOTE ] been checken on this curtian rod deal boys im slow just caught it an arrow well that official decorating there cool deal lol [/ QUOTE ] Yep, I use the bowhunting theme in all my decorating........still trying to figure out a way to turn a couple broken arrows into a T.P. roll holder.
  25. Re: Antler restrictions in place in NY\'s 3H and 3K Doc, I don't want to come across wrong, but all you've used as an excuse to disagree with AR's is that we might lose a few hunters.......you've said this in every post about restrictions. When did this become what's best for the hunter, and cease to be about the best way to manage the deer? If hunters don't have the patience to see what will happen with the herd, then they have no place in the woods to begin with because they've already shown a lack of patience. These AR's are about what's best for the deer, NOT the hunter. True hunters will deal with the early stages and enjoy the benefits when they come about.
