  2. Re: Whats wrong with these Blazer vanes ? Tony, were you playing with the markers again? LOL.
  3. Re: i shot a doe tonight ! Way to go, Tony. Excellent shot placement on a big old doe from a Hoyt........don't get much better then that.
  4. Re: OHIO MONSTER!!! It's too bad the guy had to ruin it by wearing that Bungals T-shirt.

    G5 Montechs

Re: G5 Montechs [ QUOTE ] I know everyone else seems to love them but last year i shot a doe and never got an exit hole, i blaimed it on poor shot angle and just being to much to go through the shoulder, but after shooting my doe this year with the 4 blade muzzy's and it going all the way through and blowing out the entire shoulder on the exit side, I just have more confidence in the Muzzy's. My entire setup is identical otherwise, same arrows, same poundage the shot was even the same distance [/ QUOTE ] It only takes something as simple as hitting the "ridge" of the shoulder blade (the part that run down the center of the shoulder) to stop any arrow. sounds like you did with the montec, but missed it a bit with the Muzzy.
  6. Re: ***Here is a touchy subject...lets talk about this This post has been a long time comin'. Tahnk you, Al, and everyone else for expressing your opinions. I agree fully.
  7. Re: Team 15 Season opens tomorrow, and the highs are only in the 30's tonight and low 60 tomorrow.......looking good for day 1.
  8. Re: Moron of the Month Happens to the best of us, Nick......live and learn.
  9. Re: How long, how many, and the biggest... Been hunting since I was 4.....carrying a gun since I was 10. Killed 15 or 16 deer (all with a bow) and the biggest is a 170 lb. 8 point.

    Why?

Re: Why? Always, always, always, sight in your centershot (left and right) at 30 yards, because anything under that will mask the centershot being off. Sounds to me like you need to bump your sights to the right about 1/8", see where it hits, then another 1/8" if it's off still. Continue with 1/8" at a time until center is there. Timing is the rate at which both cams turn in contrast to each other.......your shooting a Hoyt which has the Cams "Slaved" together so you don't need to worry about timing.
  11. Re: Who has... I shoot the Montecs, and they outperformed muzzy's six ways to sunday.....easier to tune (fly exactly like a field point), better penetration (Muzzy scratched a cinderblock, Montec buried in it), and more durable (muzzy broke on that block, Montec was still in one piece and could have been resharpened and reused).

    Why?

Re: Why? Sounds like wind, or form change due to increased weight..........if you were at 43 and turned each bolt one full time, then you are now at 46 pounds, so your arrows are fine for you.
  13. Re: 2 weird deer killed this weekend (PICS) Yep, it's a piebald and they need to go to preserve a healthy herd. Pure albinos will live a long while, but they eventually go blind and suffer a horrible death by starvation or predators. The other buck looks a bit 2 small to be as old as you stated, but that could be due to bad genetics or malnutrition which would also cause the small rack.
  14. Re: Team 15 We're looking at showers opening day (saturday), but not heavy so it could be a good day.
  15. Re: I\'m in the dog house aren\'t I? Dakota, there's no need to apologize for prioritizing your life.......get the work done then come in and swap stories with us. We all know how homework can be, LOL.
  16. Re: buck growl [ QUOTE ] If i,m not mistaking Bleat-in-Heat by Quaker Boy was out long before the CAN. Primos just found out who was their supplier oversea,s and started getting them and put their own lable on it. [/ QUOTE ] That could be, but the call got no publicity until Primos put it out and Beatty shot his buck with it. I was even a bit skeptical about it when it was put out, but I used it to kill my biggest buck, so I figure any call is worth trying now, lol.
  17. Re: Carbon Arrows - After the kill I clean the arrow, resharpen the head (G5 Montec), or replace the blades (G5 Tekan II), and it goes back in the quiver.......unless I kill a big one. The the arrow goes on the wall with the head mount.
  18. Re: Has anyone ever heard of.... I've had multiple deer stomp and blow in my hunting area in a 2 hour period, and more deer continued to filter in throughout that day and the following days, so I doubt that stomping is used to emit any odor for warning purposes.
  19. Re: First Bow Kill!!!! That's awesome. Congrats on your first bow kill.
  20. Re: Alaska - HELP!!! According to a relative of mine that lives in Alaska, you can buy archery tags over the counter, for some critters and have to draw on others, and this all changes from region to region.
  21. Re: Passed on a decent 8 this morning (video) You weren't just a bit excited were you? LOL......you can tell due to the shakey camera. When he stepped out from behind that tree, I could just picture the arrow flying.
  22. Re: Team 15 Sounds like a good start, Jason. Keep after 'em and you'll have us on the board soon enough.
  23. Re: Her First Hunt is Over Gary, that's great.......keep us updated, and hopefully she'll deflate lungs soon.
  24. Re: Team 15 I'm really hoping that the rain predicted for the 7th stays away.
  25. Re: buck growl Folks need to understand that M.A.D. didn't "invent" this sound. This is a real sound that they picked up on in their videos, and they didn't even capture it well. It was a hunter in Pike County Illinios that caught the good footage and he has nothing to do with M.A.D. I bought it when they came into Dick's. I love my 25% discount, lol. To all the Skeptics.......I respect your opinions, but remembers how many skeptics there were when Primos introduced "The Can".
