tonight I went out to check my trail camera and there was some grass that did not get cut down that set the camera off, there was 1600 pictures in 3 days, as I was going through on the camera to see if there was any deer pics, it kind of sciezed, would not go anywere, i shut the camera off and started it again and it said there was no pics, I tried a different camera and the card was empty, what I wanted to know is it possable for a card to go bad, or possably the camera, there has been quite a few pics on the card, prob used 100 times or so in the past year,do they go bad?? thanks

congrats on some awsome fish!!!

just found out he did not make it,there are a few stories going around what happened but I don't think it matters, all that matters is a familly lost there kid and all the ones there at the time are haunted for life!!One if the saddest things I have heard around here for a long time!!

question Steve, I was told if you get a 170 whitetial [same with speed goat]with the bow it can be entered in P&Y and also in B&C, B&C was the all around scoring system while the P&Y is bow and longhunter is ML.correct me if I am wrong please!!

just found out a small boy from our town[8-9] was shot today while out gopher hunting, I have no more info exept he was rushed to the city, [had to be fairly bad] I have no idea what happened or how, does not really matter now, just figured a few prayers would help the young man and his familly, they are super people!! Thanks!!

knowing the caliber of bucks I say there will prob be a 50% chance at P&Y,[if they can pass up the 60"ers] 1 person will get a chance at booner,[prob that stand you showed me] but they will miss from the exitement lol.there will be 30 percent P&Y shot!so high a number becouse I know the type of guide Steve is! good luck all I will be there next sept hopefully with my recurve!!

whitetail steve, leaving now to set up a site for the camera and a blind, only 14 more sleeps till the season!!
-
there is 3 big draws right behind the camera, they all meet at this one trail and heads to water 1/2 mile away, really dry thsi year so water is a huge factor on them, [there is not alot of trees mostly brush and open pasture like this]I just pulled this camera this am , I need pics of the monster I seen last night, hopefully one of my daughters can get these bucks!especially the far one, the closer one needs a coupel more years,

here are a couple nice bucks I got with the trail camera, right over the deer cain, the far one I was planning on hunting becouse of a unique right brow, but tonight I see a group of 5 only 8 miles from here with 2 huge bucks, the one possable the biggest I ever seen, a definnite booner, hope to get pics up soon!http://www.realtree.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1531&stc=1&d=1218945492

I can not guarantee I will not wound, just like no one ever can, all I am saying is I will be super close and I will know my shot and were it will hit before I shoot!I have shot enough deer to know how to controal the situation, I have passed up shots within 30 yards the past 3 years in a row on deer over 200"[mule deer] becouse it was not a perfect shot,it gives me nightmares knowing this but its better than wounding them, the biggest problem with wounded deer is people getting to exited and shooting past there known range, I will not do that
-
who cares lol!!! a deer like that is not going to get a score he deserves, a crappy typ frame, the non typ is what is awsome!!score will not do him justice, just shoot him and have a deer of a lifetime!!
-
I am not hungry enough to sit down with him lol!! awsome pic!!!!
-
we have till about sept 10 for whitetail and the 25 for mule deer with velvet here!
-
got the finall ok from the wardens, as long as they are 7/8 of a inch across they are legal, I also had to get all the paperwork to sell the hides to him, I am so exited about it, I can not wait till saterday to try them out, I just hope I can shoot good with them!!
-
I am not sure Steve but I will make sure they shoot good, I am not going to shoot more than 12 yards or so for sure, my one blind I hunted last year had does every night within 10 yards,I really doubt they lost many animals steve, from what i have heard they would trail a animal for days if it took that, now days would never think of doing that, he said they shot 80 pound bows made out of some sort of wood they bartered from the US [cannot rememebr the name] he said they trained from youngsters to master the bow, All I know is each arrow will be shot before I go out, with a recurve and shooting under 15 yards and only shooting 160 fps a few grains of wieght is not as huge of a factor as shooting 40 yards at 280 fps! I have always loved the old style hunting, a old musket shooting lead balls, recurves,I have never got a inline still shoot the old musket, and shot alot of huge deer with the coumpound but never had the exitement of getting close with a recurve with no sight, all instinct shooting, I just think this will take it to a different level, I will not wound a deer with it, I will have less chance of wounding a deer with this setup than all the guys around here who shoot a coumpound, they all think they can shoot a bale at 50 yards a deer is easy, thsu a wounded deer in most cases,I know my distance [less than 15 yards]and know exactly to a piece of hair were I will hit before I shoot or I will not!!

new animals are being found often,I heard of a new snake found yesterday in south america that was never known to exist, there is so much country untouched out there I do believe there is such an animal,I do not believe in all the crap about bigfoot being alian or part human, I do believe he is a very smart animal who does not want to be found, look at how smart a mature deer is in the woods, you know how hard it is to find a 6 year old deer in your woods you know like the back of your hands, increase his mantality many times and throw him in a million acres of untouched wilderness, he will never be seen!there are so many people out there who want to make fake tapes and imprints that are making so many sceptics,I have no idea why people cannot believe there is a animal out there not yet found, I guess maybe its becouse they have never been in untouched areas, the natives 500 years ago ahve drawings of these creatures, I wonder if one of them made a suit up and walked around trying to hoax everyone lol!! I have always believed in them but what really got me was a crew my brother worked with, they were way up in northern Alberta when one was in there camp when they drove in, as it walked by the semi it looked right in the window at them from 10 ft, as I talked to these guys and seen how scared they were prob 5 years after I know they were not lieing!!

I was on holidays last wek and met a guy doing a demenstration at the park, he makes all the indian artifacts for museums all over north america,[he did the smithsonian in washington]he maked broadheads with stone and antler just like the indians 200 years ago, anyway we were talking and kind of hit it off, he wanted some tanned coyote hides for making quivers and such, and I really wanted to get a couple arrow heads put on wooden arrows to display, in talking he showed me how much sharper good stone was than steel, I was surprized it cut through moose leather way better than the sharp steel Zwickey did!he said he always wanted to take a deer with a stone arrow head but can not make a bow strong enough to shoot them, I got his number and said I would call him this week, on the rest of the holiday I was thinking about the stone arrowheads and how fun it would be to get a deer with one, I talked to the DNR and they said the only rule is the broadhead has to be 7/8 inch thick, I phoned him and asked and he was super exited, saterday i drive to his place and he is mounting 6 stone arrowheads he made on homemade wooden arrows I bought off a guy here that made them years ago, turkey feathers and all, he mounts them the old way to, hide glue and wet sinue tied on, he is teaching me how and giving me a starter kit, weare like he has "doing it the old way" trading hides for the arrow heads and he is buying a few more!I am so exited,I have gotten a ton of deer with a bow and now I usually go for the huge buck just to keep the season longer,I just do not get as exited as I used to shooting a doe with a bow anymore,I believe this will bring back the challange and exitement I am missing!!

got to work this morning and wife called, her grandfather passed away last night, he was 94 and starting to go downhill a bit but lived in his house till the end and kept going just to be there for her grandmother, his wife of 65 years, all I can say is he was one of the best men I ever knew,He put everything about himself in the rear to help out others till the end!In the 20 years or so i knew him never once did I hear him talk anyone down, never say a bad word about anything,he helped us out alot as young parents and just together, I am sure I would not have the life I do now without him , its becouse of him I get the privledge to hunt so much,he will be deeply missed!!Just glad to hear he is in a way better place now!!
