    Happy birthday stranger! todd
  3. When I was younger my dad and I used to cut firewood for some extra cash. He would cut then I would haul to the truck. We split the wood with a sledge hammer and wedge. That was some tough work. We sold the wood for $35 a rick and I got $5 of the $35. Wouldn't do that now for 5 bucks but I took the deal knowing he'd make me do it anyway.
  4. If i try to plant brassicas too early the grasshoppers tear them up! Insects really like to eat the greens on those brassicas. looks good! todd
  5. Eagle beans are doing great. I sprayed the plot once with glyphosate and then spot sprayed a few weeks later. Now I have a really clean weed free plot and the deer are loving the beans: good plotting todd
  6. Steve---I will keep you in my prayers and happy that the cancer is under control. best of luck todd
  7. thanks everyone. This will be the 6th surgery since January. It is taking a toll on her poor body. your thoughts and prayers are appreciated. todd
  8. awesome---as long as they get good moisture you should get some good growth. I've had problem with grasshopper damage on early planting of brassicas---those hoppers love they way they taste. keep us updated with some pics. todd
  9. cool---you'll have to share some pics with us once you get some!
  10. you will be fine but just try not to mow during a drought or when the soil is really dry. Right after a good rain is best. Mowing during hot dry weather really puts a lot of stress on the plot.
  11. I went to a retriever trial earlier this summer for 3 days. I ended up pulling a total of 65 ticks off me--and I was also sprayed down really good with deep woods off. The best prevention is to spray your clothes down with permethrin and then let dry. Works much better than Off. BTW--my dogs were covered with frontline and while i had a total of 65 ticks I did not find any on my dogs.
  12. very much so. What type of card does it use and how is the battery life?
  13. Darron---looks good. You should have some good hunting spots!
  14. you'll be happy with the GPP--keep us updated.
  15. I believe he was. If would have been home with his wife and kids he'd probably be alive right now.
  16. very nice!!!!! you have talent todd
  17. Martin at Hamann Farms (located in Wisconsin) www.hamannfarms.com has a great winter brassica mix. If you want to mix your own hard to beat a mix of wheat rye grain oats winter peas and brassica. This blend will attract early and continue to attract all winter as long as it doesn't get buried too deep in the snow.
  18. cattle and food plots don't mix.
  19. must have a big problem with over-population. I have never planted corn but I can't plant sunflowers. The dang deer eat them when they are 6" tall all the way to the ground.
  20. stick him the kennel and close all doors--turn on a fan to drown out the barking. Get up once during the night to let him out then back into the kennel. Stick with it and within a week it will all be a memory.
  21. He was a player--one tough guy! Very sad!
  22. what kind of trees did you plant? You better get them protected. good job todd
