  1. I had an 03 hoyt and was getting tired of it so I looked into Matthews. Ended up staying with the Hoyt Vectrix just b/c I liked it slightly better then the Mathews, was cheaper and my nearest dealer is a hoyt guy. Just some things to look into. Whatever feels best and fits within your budget and is convenient for you.
  2. that 5$ probably went straight into Struts pocket, LOL j/k
  3. Remington model 700 CDL in 30-06 scoped with Nkon 3x9 And sometimes my dad's model 70 Winchester in 270, he's had that gun when he was my age and I took my first few deer with that gun until I got the remi
  4. I use the 100gr standards and am very pleased
  5. very nice, more info on the deer cooler. I would love to put one in my shed.
  6. I doubt the deer were penned in like said above they got in there and they can probably leave as they wish. If you had a fenced in area on your hunting property that deer jumped and and fed in etc but were free roaming would you not have a stand hung in that fence somewhere?
  7. I would give slick tricks a look, IMO better then strikers for less and fly like field points. slicktrick.net
  8. Best two in my opinion slick trick standards or the G5 strikers. The slick tricks will only cost around 20-22 for 3 heads and they are defintely the best fixed head I've ever shot and fly as good as field points out of my setup
  9. usually last few days of August into the first week or two in Sept around here. Usually get a few in the shedding velvet process on camera
  10. personally if I held out for a 4.5 yr old I may darn well never kill a buck where I hunt in my entire lifetime. While I like to try and kill atleast a nice 2 yr old if a legal yearling walks out (have to be atleast 6pt in PA) he's probably going to get it, unless it's very early in the year.
  11. that outfitter ralph and vicky hunted with on their show a week or so ago looked awesome, the cost (over 4,000) didn't look so awesome, but the chance for a real trophy is very high. If I had the money that's where I'd go, some where in Alberta
  12. good thing your holding on to that vectrix
  13. nice deer, how many bucks are you alloted out there per year
  14. 15 - 20 acres should be fairly easy to figure out once the season rolls around. A trail camera will do wonders on a small property and look for the heavily used trail. Theres only so many places they can go on that small of acreage. Goodluck and congrats on the new property.
  15. that's insane it's a snake in a snake
  16. very nice house congrats, I just can't picture where that big buck mount is going to go, in the office I take it.
  17. My parents were just by there visiting that Biltmore place and they said it's rural as heck between there and east TN where they drove from. Defintely some hillbillies running around those parts. Mountains all around that place, you should have whitetail and turkey, maybe even black bear all around there.
  18. Slick Tricks all the way
  19. I would try a drop away rest. Same idea as a biscuit without the flecthing contact.
  20. goodluck, remember a big thank you to the owner and maybe a thank you gift at the seasons end, or see if you can help out around the place. Looks like you got into some good woods
  21. Yeah we got some really good rules here in PA. My cousins from down south go crazy when they hear about some of this stuff we can't do.
  22. if your shooting a d loop then just swing it around until your peep is straight when you draw. My guess is your torqing your hand when you draw changing the angle of the peep
  23. I will def hunt some, how much depends on if I got my buck yet or not. Our fall turkey season comes in beginning of Nov for a couple weeks, right when the bucks get to chasing those does.
