  1. Is there anyone else that can read topo makes and know where the best places are to put stands according to how deer would use the land? I leased the land and want to help them with the best stand placement and chances of getting a deer. Any other advice would be welcome.
  2. Had to edit and lower writing due to advertisement covering it. Looking at my aerial and topo maps where do you think I should put deer stands to hunt? Looking at the maps North is up. The land is outlined by the black or red square and my house is located at the x on the topo map. You can see a food plot about 30' wide running down through the land. The 2nd topo is just zoomed out more so you can see more of the surrondings. Thanks for any help!
  3. Land is Leased! Thanks to all interested parties.
  4. When you say city, how big are you talking? If you asking due to hotels, we have at least 4 within 15 minutes of the land. If you are wanting to know for location reasons, we are about half way in between Owensboro and Bowling Green (about an hour to each city). 5. Let's see if this works, topo and aerial maps. Already getting offers and I have it listed on a kyhunting website so don't be afraid to shot me a pm or just reply with offers.
  6. Ok, I have found both types of maps, downloaded them into my pictures on my computer and then opened them with paint to label and mark property lines. Now, what is the best way to display them on here?
  7. If you can tell me a place and how to show topo maps with a link I'll do it. I have found several that show topo and terrain where I can zoom right in, but no way to link it. I'll get some pics together and post. Average is 100-120 range, but has been a lot nicer bucks killed with in 1/4 to 1/2 mile.
  8. Sorry, forgot to say best offer. I haven't did any research on price and I wanted to get it out there quick if anyone wanted for this season. The wife and I just decided today that we wouldn't have time to hunt. Also, not for sale just lease.
  9. Not sure if this is the place or not, so it may get moved. Anyway, is anyone interested in 66 acres of woods to lease for deer and/or turkey hunting in Muhlenberg Co. KY? It has a variety of mature trees with some white and red oaks and beech that all produce nuts. It has a cattle farm on one side and about 100 acre of bean fields on the other (the bean field is not visible because the woods continues onto the other property for about 100yards before the fields start). It hasn't been hunted this year and if you want, you can hunt this deer season.
  10. Thanks, I was thinking of the ryegrass, but wasn't sure how it would grow and if I can just broadcast it on top of the ground and it take off. Also, I won't be mowing it much, maybe a 2 or 3 times a year just to knock down the weeds.
  11. Thanks to the Ice Storm of 09, I am now motivated to clean up the woods around my house a little. Here's what I've got: almost all the trees have tops and or limbs broken out of them, I have burned the floor of the woods and am currently removing all the under brush and majorly damaged trees. However, there is still decent shade. My question, what is the best seed to sow in the woods for growth and wildlife. This woods is on both sides of my house and in the back behind my clover food plot. My main goals are to have a grass to make the woods look nice as you drive up the drive, provide food for wildlife, open the woods up to view wildlife from inside the house more, and sow something that won't take over the clover or mess up my yard. Thanks for any help, sorry so long. Forgot to ask, do I need to do anything else to the ground or just broadcast over it?
  12. Thanks for all the insight! I just really took me by surprise since I was expecting to see antlers.
  13. Was out walking the woods today checking on my deer stands since the major ice storm that hit a month ago and jumped several deer. One stayed for a couple of seconds to check me out and it was a buck with a fully intact rack! Not a major size buck, but would score around 80, an 8pt. Is it common for deer to still have antlers this late? I'm in Western KY. Oh, it's funny to watch deer now. With all the trees and tree limbs in the woods they can't run away, they have to jump the whole time to get away. It is almost impossible for me to walk through the woods, I'm constantly climbing over, under, and through trees.
  14. What is your take on the wreck?
  15. A friend of mine has captured a monster buck over 500 times on a flash camera. The buck never seems to care and stays for long durations each time.
  16. Same here and they fixed it for free!!!! Leaf River customer service is the best ever!!!!!! Just look up their website and send them an e-mail and they'll reply with answers. I think it is vibrashine.com
  17. Black powder is in for another week and then I still have bow season. If all else fails, I can still get a doe.
  18. Been a really bad year...all the bucks I have on camera never showed up during gun season. I hope to get a chance at one during bow or black powder later this month.
  19. Huh, How much would it cost to come hunt with you?
  20. I do believe I may have some if you are still interested....not sure how many, but not a lot.
  21. I have used a Moultrie, Wildview, and Leafriver. All three work well and provide great pics. The Leafriver is larger than the other two, but I like the way it allows for a cable lock to be used on it and the steel locking bar that keeps people out of it. The other two are mostly plastic with no true way to lock it up. Also, the leafriver is about 5 years old and the wire broke inside it. I paid to mail it back, but they fixed it and returned it for free!!! They have the best customer service around.
  22. I let a small 8 walk by at 20 yards this weekend....I'm still hunting that 180 class deer spotted in the area. We only get one buck a year so I don't want to waste the tag this early in the season. Still have 2 weeks of gun left.
  23. I to think it is fake now that I looked at it closer. You can even see the sun beaming through the trees through the deer in some areas. FAKE. I just didn't look at it closely the first time.
