  1. Well gals, this girlie should be retired by the end of August:D:D:D:D:D:D. Yes, I have a face-splitting smile on! 32.5 years with the university and I bought 1.5 years of Federal and student employment time, so I'll have 34 years with our retirement system. As with almost all state assisted schools, budgets are being slashed and our's is no different. The university is offering a 'separation incentive' and I'm taking it. I was going next year anyways. This way maybe one less person in our dept will get laid-off. Our university is really trying to avoid laying-off people by making this incentive available to anyone with 15 years of service or more. Boy, is deer season going to be fun this year!!!
  2. Congrats on graduating! Now the fun begins- state boards. You'll do fine!!!!
  3. LOL, darn right you better smile!:D:D:D Smart man.
  4. Those are sweet! One can never have too many knives.
  5. Hey Brian. Welcome to Realtree. I'm just north of ya in Dayton. Good to see another Ohioan on the forums. I do most of my hunting on a tiny spot in Greene co and some in Clark co.
  6. Very cool everyone! I love finding stuff like those. Have found a few fair ones at our camp in GA and lots of pieces and a smaller grinding stone. Haven't found that perfect one, yet. When the hunting is slow, I start looking at the dirt. I like collecting all the flint I can find, too, even the small pieces. Some day I want to try my hand at knapping (sp).
  7. Who did your work? That's a fine looking mount! If I'm lucky in 09, I hope to have one mounted. Thanks for the info in advance.

Congrats, Ruth. We are all proud of you. Some hospital is going to get great nurse!!!!
  9. LOL!! Boy, what do you say to that?!
  10. Boiled peanuts aren't a big item in Ohio. I've never seen them there. Make sure you try one of the pork chops. As for the livestock and other animal shows, we don't do too bad.
  11. Great story. And congrats on the fine looking bird!

    What shocker!

Not much fun getting bit!! It got me once when I was removing a metal switch cover ( no the power wasn't off:eek:, dumb, dumb, dumb) and the wires were left long and I made contact. It didn't let go of me right away either. Felt like I had done 30 sets of wrist curls. Felt like that for hours! Glad you're okay!!

    Banana Test

    Hopeless and squirrelly.
  15. Yoga is great! I think I like Tia Chi better, thou. People think yoga is just about stretching, but you are right that you gain a lot of strength doing yoga.

    Pending Retirees?

Soon, very soon. Maybe 4 months.:D:D:D
  17. I should start one, but if I did and found it while cleaning I would probably pause to read it and that would be it for my cleaning jag.
  18. Great pics, as usual. I saw a flock of Great Blues flying over once in Dec as I was shoveling 18" of snow we just got 3 days before Christmas. Guess they thought it was time to got south:rolleyes:. They were about as noisey as the Canadian geese are.
  19. Did you go to Cades Cove? I love that place. Nice pics.

Yeah, I'll probably be firing up the lawn mower this weekend.
  21. Pretty cool. I've seen Canadian goose and Blue Herons fly over in formation, but never Swans. Nice pics. Herons have such a gravely squock (sp).
  22. Awesome!! Good deal, will be waiting to see it.
