Super thick beard on that Rio Tim! A 20lber is real darn good to boot! Congrats.

Find out where the freshest control burn was done and check it out for sign. Turkeys like sifting the ashes for freshly cooked bugs and the freshest new shoots.
-
I can get you the same for HALF PRICE!
-
I really hope you have a fantastic one!

This will help you fine tune that strategy a little. If the flocks haven't busted up yet. Turkeys will often congregate in an open area where they can see each other clearly before flying up to roost. This area will be near the roost area. Near but not necessarily right under it. If you find the evening "Launch Pad". You have a major evening hot spot. After the flocks have broken up because of breeding, lonesome toms will still check out the launch pad areas "just in case". Launch pads are easier to find when there are flocks. If you know where they are roosting try and listen for where they are flying from. Sometimes turkeys fly quite a bit further than merely straight up to roost. 100yds is not all that uncommon.

All right Tim! Let's see a good 'un!

Yeah, I like Ronnie too. He's a no nonsense guy. I respect that. Rhino and Redbeard would be fun guys to turkey hunt with as well. Rhino because I truly believe he is cut from the same turkey hunting cloth I am. Redbeard because he is an absolute character and kills plenty of gobblers. Anyway I look at it. I know I'd have a good time. Who knows, I might actually be able to contribute to the hunt. Stranger things have happened.

Take heart. If you know they are there, no need to hear them. This philosophy drives newby turkey hunters nuts. Honestly, you do not need to hear them. You've found tracks, scratchings and poop, they are there. You may still call them in and they never crack their beak once to let you know they are coming. You still get your bird. And everyone will wonder how. In my experience birds that are less vocal are actually MORE susceptible to calling BUT they will take their sweet time coming in. It truly may take HOURS for them to show. Have confidence in your scouting and stay put. I've killed more them one gobbler, on days I've not heard a single gobble. In fact, the one I got last year, never uttered a peep. He still came to the calls I was making but he was dead silent. I knew he was in the area (the sign was there) and stuck with it. Have confidence in your homework

Only the Supreme ELITES are non-lead. They in particular are soft heavies and are supposed to be fine with factory chokes. The Supreme XX magnums and Supreme HVs are copper plated lead loads. No problem with factory chokes on them either.

Looks like a thumbnail tile. There should be individual photos on the card somewhere. The thumbnail tile is just for reference.

This is news to me! I've heard that Viagra can cause arm pain. Playing too much Wii... ner!

Serious Physical Therapy with that goal in mind. I dislocated both shoulders in 2003. It took a combination of first using just therabands and finally switching to just drawing and letting down a light recurve on a daily basis. Talk to a physical therapist before attempting this. Overdoing it on healing shoulders can be a disaster. Your shoulders need to be well healed before attempting to roll over cams on a compound. It personally took me nine months to get there.

Do you have a Saddle mount on the gun? Over tightening the Saddle mount screws will definitely freeze up the action.

Has anyone submitted a complaint with the NWTF?

This is such very sad news. I have a tremendous amount of respect for anyone who can display as much dignity and courage as you have here in light of such a dire prognosis. God bless you and your family Steve. I'll definitely be praying for you all.

Actually it depends on the shotgun receiver. If your receiver is drilled and tapped from the factory for the Weaver base then go for it. Getting the scope lower is always better. Some shotgun receivers do not hold threads well. So getting the receiver drilled and tapped on those guns is not a good idea. A good gunsmith knows what receivers can take tapping and which can't. In those cases where drilling and tapping is not advisable the saddle mount is the more secure option.

Check out the Trijicon Reflex 2. It's made in Michigan. These are super tough military sights that are built like a tank. You get aimpoint visibility with no battery requirement. Plus the sight is designed so you can use it with both eyes open. The effect is literally like it is projecting a laser dot onto the target. Get the Weaver base adapter and you can mount it on a saddle mount (like an Aimtech or B-Square). Or if your gun is drilled and tapped for a Weaver Base then even better. They aren't cheap but you can probably find one for under $350 online. http://www.trijicon.com/user/parts/parts_new.cfm?categoryID=8

You'll be very surprised by how little the 3.5" shells kick in that gun WITHOUT the kickoff You will be very happy with that Beretta.

I was so poor and scrawny, I got CARE packages from India! When my Dad taught my to swim. I thought I'd never get out of that sack... and those kittens kept scratching me!

I know there is some great bass fishing near Columbia. Apparently, you found it! If you can make it down to Lake Marion, I urge you to try the catfishing there. Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie are the Santee Cooper lakes famous for WHOPPER catfish. 30 pounders are reasonably common and the locals won't even bat an eye at anything unless it's over 50lbs. Mussel meat (harder to get) and live and cut Blueback herring(most bait stores have this) are your top baits. There's tons of standing timber in the lake so proceed with caution or you'll be buying a new prop or foot for you motor. Honestly, almost every tree out there near deep water has a decent catfish or two on it. In the better spots you can fill your cooler but you can catch some of these fish in practically every likely looking spot on the lake. Seriously, if you got time try it! After you get your line broken a couple times by one of their outsized Bluecats you'll be seriously addicted and looking at buying some 50lb class tackle for a return trip. If I wasn't committed to turkey hunting with a friends father the next couple of days I'd consider trying to hook up with you.

Yep the Goldfish work but they are absolutely illegal in some states so check your regs folks.

I thinks you need to shave under your arms!

Let your husband do the frog thing then They only squeak a little. You do have to weigh them down so they'll stay on the bottom. Hook them through both lips. The aquatic frogs can breath through their skin underwater. So don't think you are drowning them. Big cats really like frogs. No joke. They also really like those small 8 inch channel cats. Yep it's catfish eat catfish world.

Those are great Flatheads! Bush hook is the way to go when you got monsters like that lurking around. A couple of those on a trot line and you can kiss your rig good bye. Trot lines are very dangerous when you got a big boy on one. Flatties like cut bait, sours(NASTY!) and livers in the winter. In the summer live bait is without a doubt king. I've caught catfish on plastic worms, spinnerbaits, rattletraps and flyrod poppers. In the summer they are quite a bit more predatory than their bottom sucking reputation. Blues are the same way. Only Channels and Bullheads seem to be susceptible to dead baits year round. Besides livers, saltwater baitshrimp work quite well for Channels (if you can keep the bream from driving you nuts). Frogs and crawfish are two very effective live baits for catfish. As far as frogs go they have to be the green aquatic ones. Catfish usually won't touch spotted frogs or tree frogs. Are jugs legal where you fish? I've heard of guys using jugs to scout the river and figure out future bush hook locations.

Good on you Ma! It's always seems way tougher to help someone get a bird than to get one yourself. You've earned that bird as much as the person behind the trigger. Excellently played!
