  1. Yep, I see him out there munching those green bushes I would guess. Probably just woke up! Good luck on him. Hope he finds your bait soon!
  2. The 2nd amendment is a darn good quote for a signature! It gets more publicity than ANY other amendment. It's plainly clear, though many try to twist it. The PEOPLES right to bear arms is the most contentious part of it. It's my belief and many others that the intention of this amendment was to keep the government honest. History has shown time and time again that the first thing a dishonest government does is eliminate the possibility the PEOPLE can fight back. Buckee has talent. I agree. He's done good for you here, no doubt about it! I'm glad you two are friends.
  3. Many will laugh but this is NO JOKE! A&D diaper rash ointment really helps better than anything I've tried. The Cortisone based treatments are effective but they have diminishing effectiveness. The more you use them the less they work. Only use them as a last resort cure.
  4. Prayers sent I hope she is all right.
  5. For target shooting I would recommend trying Sierra Matchkings in 150gr and 168gr weights. These aren't meant for hunting but you should be able to work up loads as accurate as your rifle is capable of with one or both of them. The 168gr is a better long range bullet if your rifles bore stabilizes it. Vanguard's are notably good accuracy in general but if your very serious about benchrest shooting you will want to get a match barrel put on the gun. Action tune, glass/pillar bed and trigger job... (to name a few).
  6. You need to chase the vodka enema with whisky sours so you can hold it in longer
  7. Seriously, Nikon Monarchs are decent scopes. If you have issues I would be more inclined to suspect the rifle or the mounts. Emphasis on the mounts. Bad mounts can make a perfectly functioning optic appear to behave like JUNK! Skimping on the mounts is a major error. They make look alright feel alright but when you swap them out be prepared for a surprise! If you set another scope that you know works in the same mounts with the same results. Consider changing the mounts.
  8. That's cool there! You're up next and the kids will have to help out
  9. Nice! Do the red necked grebes go "WHOO HOO!"?
  10. Good thick neck on that bear but I agree with AK. Knowing how much ground clearance they have really helps judge them.

    Family Guy?

I'll admit it. I laugh at Peter Griffin. Not for kids. No way NO HOW! Still a funny show. Chris Griffin: I almost peed in my own that episode, that's funny!

    REAL Guitar Hero...

I can't tell if that is actually a guitar. Could be a Banjo...
  14. Guys who shoot competition typically like a stabilizer that will cause the bow to tip forward on release. They depend on the wrist strap to catch the bow. For hunting I much prefer a bow that is more balanced. IE. It sits in your hand level without touching the bow string. I like this because the bow tipping forward in a treestand or blind is an unpredictable thing. It's seems to always hit something. You can go to the hardware store get a spacer nut and set screw to adjust the distance on your stabilizer to get the balance right
  15. A hunter that doesn't pray does not have a prayer.
  16. I've never seen a Norseman. Cool plane!
  17. Do what you enjoy. I agree with the other posters I'd hunt straight thru. In my experience whenever someone tells you gobblers are showing up regularly in a certain area that's invaluable advice. Sometimes these birds visit a regularly utilized area several times a day. You may not have to sit till noon. But if you decide to do it. Cozy in and be determined to stay put until almost an hour after the supposed appearance time. Good luck.
  18. Thunderheads are decent heads. The 125s are much much tougher than the 100s. They also tend to be very consistent. You may have to adjust your sites to shoot them but where one goes the next will. If you are shooting 100s there are tougher heads available today. In all, they are a solid choice.
  19. No joke. I remember folks laughing at limbsavers, now virtually everyone has something like it. The STS concept is here to stay.
  20. Prayers sent! Hope it's nothing serious.
  21. It's hard to see. And honestly it might lay back down on its own if left alone. But I did notice it, so I waited until the next day and finished the job without incident.
  22. Thanks Hutchies, One thing I did absolutely notice. DO NOT try to wrap and fletch the same day. It can be done but the adhesive on the sheeting really needs at least a full 24hrs to get to full strength. That means if the fletching sticks just a little in the jig you might actually lift a bubble underneath it. I messed up the first one I did and then remembered how the sheeting adhesive works. Roll them pressing firmly on a hard surface after you wrap them and then wait a day before fletching. Works MUCH better.
  23. I've never used wraps and honestly I've been reluctant to try them. But I had some scrap sign vinyl someone had given me and thought "what the heck?" I'll give it a try. Hint to the frugal minded archer. Sign vinyl is what wraps are made out of I cut some out the right size, wrapped them and fletched them. Jury is still out as to how long they'll last but they do look pretty. I'm wondering about replacing single fletchings. I have a feeling that's not going to be possible. But since it's costing me next to nothing to try I'm giving it a shot. I like how the yellow and green color scheme turned out. I left clearance in front of the nock because I don't want the wrap hiding nock cracks. Nock cracks make me nervous and I ditch arrows that get them. The F/S nocks I use now seem to significantly reduce those cracks. Anyhow this is my first batch of "Purty Arrows".

    any locksmiths?

I'm not a locksmith but I just about guarantee you he will do the following. 1. Drill out the old lock. 2. Install a new one. On a gas cap? No way I'd suggest you try that yourself. I'd say unfortunately it's gonna cost you a trip to the dealer service
  25. Finding a travel route and setting up just inside the trees is a good strategy. Acorns are a good natural food source and they spoil quite rapidly down here in the heat. Hunt only where you hear the acorns actively dropping and save yourself wondering if they are fresh enough. Persimmons, and date palms with fruit can be especially good early season. Later in the season when acorns are less plentiful deer like blackberry briar leaves, honeysuckle, and green briar.
