Re: Whatta you think Whatta I think? Just another example of our worse President ever. What a bunch of crap. When are some of you people gonna realize that? He picks up a shotgun once a year for a photo op and that makes him a hunter? If he was a real hunter he would not have such a horrible record on the enviroment. He only cares about big corporations and the almighty dollar. He's playin you people like a fiddle. If we have a right to to the natural resources then does'nt future generations also have that right? Hows that gonna happen for them if we ruin it in the name of the economy? And Texan blames it on the left LMAO I can see it now someone coming on here and posting up "Bush sold my huntin spot" I'm sick of hearing teachers whine about their pay. Whats wrong with their pay? Benefits out the ginghy and only work 8 months out of the year. If they want more pay become a professor. Nothin but a bunch of idealist anyway. We got teachers on this very site that post up while they're at work. The success a student achieves in school starts at home. Parents who value education and understand the benefits of their children doing well in school will work with their children. Parenting is the most important job we will ever have and requires no degree. Too many people have children and have no idea how to raise them.

Re: Tracks-how big is big? Good question! It’s hard to say by looking at a your picture and no one can tell for sure (by looking at just one track) but generally speaking a big bucks track is definitely bigger than a doe track. The way those toes are splayed and the depth of the dew claws would also lead me to believe this is a considerably heavier animal. Width is more important than length and from your picture it looks to be almost two and a half inches wide. Like Buckee said "Bigger tracks don't necessarily mean a bigger deer, because some deer have big feet and some have small feet" but a wide track is a better indicator of a big buck. Older bucks walk more flat footed than a smaller buck from the extra weight and will show mor of the dew claws.

Re: More on Jimmy Houston [ QUOTE ] get rid of the Elephant...then do clean up [/ QUOTE ] So what do we do now? The problem is they call this hunting which is offensive to us. You gonna challenge the constitutional rights of personal property? These game farms are controlled by the Dept. of Agriculture. Good luck fighting the farm lobby! They will crush you like an ant. I think the underlining issue to this whole high fence hunting thing is that people are seeing the shape of things to come and they don't like it. This is one of the first steps in handing control of the game to the property owners. Let's face it, as the land becomes more and more populated, what else can they do?

Re: Cheney shoots someone Hunt how you are. If you’re so consumed with greed in the field as to be oblivious to your surroundings, more than likely you are the same way in everyday life. These bumbling fools can’t even handle a shotgun let alone a military.

Re: constitutional rights for terrorists???? It's not really about them, it's about who we are . If we are going to promote a better form of goverment then we need to live up to that standard, not act like a bunch of thugs. Where's the love? They should be given, not constitutional rights, but basic legal rights in the sense that we show some form of common decency. Or are they just "animals" as buckee said? Hmm??

Re: Tell me why Not all the founding fathers were Christians. Many of the American founding fathers, such as Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams, Thomas Paine, James Madison and Ethan Allen were well known Deists. They believed in God, but not as Christians.

Re: Blame it on the U.S. [ QUOTE ] I guess I just don't see how this has anything to do with the shootings in Toronto [/ QUOTE ] You're right it does'nt have anything to do with the shootings, just more Canadien liberal looniness. Actually the age of consent and the sex clubs have nothing to do with each other, it was the author who tied the two together in his thread, speculating on what will happen. Pedophiles disgust me!!

Re: Blame it on the U.S. Canada new destination of choice for pedophiles? High court ruling legalized group-sex clubs with 14-year-olds Posted: December 27, 2005 1:00 a.m. Eastern by James L. Lambert © 2005 WorldNetDaily.com The Canadian Supreme Court ruling that redefined obscenity for that nation and legalized group-sex clubs, combined with Canada's unusually low age of consent – 14 – will result in an influx of pedophiles to America's neighbor to the north, contends a former consultant to the U.S. Justice Department. In its Dec. 20 decision, Canada's Supreme Court legalized a type of business activity previously restricted by Canadian law, overturning two previous Quebec Court of Appeal decisions that had ruled group-sex clubs qualified as "bawdy houses" violating Quebec's community decency standards and were therefore illegal. Judith Reisman, a world-renowned scholar and author of four books, including "Kinsey: Crimes and Consequences," said that since under Canadian law 14-year-olds are legally considered "consenting adults," the court's controversial decision "will now make Canada a sex traffic playground for pedophiles." A former consultant to three U.S. administrations, Reisman, who is also a WND columnist, says the court's decision sends a clear message to pedophiles: "You don't have to go to Asia anymore. Pedophiles can have the blond, blue-eyed kids in Canada, too." The Canadian government, Reisman believes, is sending a strong message to international sex traders that "you can get all the kids you want when you come to Canada." The liberalization of the Canadian courts, the author contends, shows "that pedophiles or politicians who refuse to prosecute these types of crimes are in power more than ever in Canada." Supreme Court Chief Justice Beverly McLachlin was joined by Justices Major, Binnie, Deschamps, Fish, Abella and Charron in the sex-club decision. Dissenting justices Michael Bastarache and Louis LeBel said the high court's ruling "strips of all relevance the social values that the Canadian community as a whole believes should be protected," according to Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper. "There is a real trend to break down moral principles in Canadian society," said Gwen Landolt, vice president of Real Women of Canada, according to LifeSiteNews.com. "The implications are horrendous," said Landolt. "It's an exploitation of human sexuality. Fourteen-year-olds will be exploited." "The Canadian government," Reisman told WND, "will see that the kids are clean from sexual disease by giving them the appropriate drugs and medication and if they get pregnant, they will provide them with abortions." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=48075

Re: Ohio Slug Season Recap Thanks for the reply's. Been talkin to some other Deer hunters. Some big Deer taken and "lost". A group of 12 hunters took 10 BBBC bucks, their best year ever. The do it by pushing Deer. They have alot of spots that they've been hunting for years. Another guy shot what he said was a 22 pointer at the end of the day. When he and his buddy went back in the dark with a flashlight they tracked it to a creek where they found him alledgedly packing mud in his wound. When they shined the light on him he freaked out and took off according to the witness. Searched for two days with no sign. Somebody at a hunting camp down around Whalhonding shot 35 times and had to go get more shells. Theres a group of guys that hunt around Danville that drive Deer with as many as 40 guys. Have not ran into any of them yet but they kill Deer.

Re: Rutting Queston How pressured are the Deer you'll be hunting? If they are heavily pressured like around here, the big ones have just about seen it all and are reluctant to just "come in", everybody and their brother has a grunt call. Try to find where groups of Does bed and set up on the downwind side. Be sure to pick a tree that offers some concealment. Then wait. Unpressured, Try about anything you want. It all works. JMO anything can happen. Good Luck!

Passed on going to the Amish game farm and took my 9 yr old out Monday morning. He shot a Doe at 40 yds with a .410, it ran right near us and layed down at about 10 yds. It was bleeding out the mouth and I was going to finish it off when he said "let me do it", I said okay and as he was moving into position it got up and took off. Crap! We found it though 40 yds further in the brush dead. We gave thanks to the Almighty and he put his tag on it. I noticed a single teer in the corner of his eye but did'nt say anything. He thought it was cool how the hairs went flying when he hit it with the slug. He was okay with it. A warm Tuesday morning I seen a woodland frog and on a snowy Sunday evening a flock of snow geese flew over my oldest Son and I. In between I saw 14 Bucks but never fired the ML. Took the safety off on Tuesday at a widerack Buck I've been trying to get. Jumped him in the wind as he was about to enter a bedding area. Brought the ML up but he disappeared over a rise a mere 25 yds away. Hurried to that spot and again shouldered my weapon just in time to see him melt into the brush. I seen a good tined 8 on Saturday in a group of 5 Bucks but decided to pass on him with a firearm. Back to the Bow now with next week looking good and the 2nd rut coming. Then the week after Christmas I'll be carrying the ML again. I love this time of year!!

Re: Having an arrow nocked. [ QUOTE ] I will have one nocked once I hit the woods. I walk a fair amount of my way in and out via my fields so I keep it in the quiver then. Once in the woods I slow down and still hunt with one nocked. Once at the tree I quiver it and climb then renock and hang the bow like that. [/ QUOTE ] Ditto! Once while nocking my arrow (on stand) in the pre-dawn darkness I must have grazed my string with the broadhead cause when it got more light I noticed several of my strands were cut. I was done for the day. Now I am very carefull in that situation. Don't make the same mistake.
