I noticed that Remington has coom out with "Mannaged Recoil" loads for a few calibers. I've notised that their .308 & .30-06 are loaded with 125 grain PSP bullets. Is this weight too light for Deer sized game?

Re: Chose a load for Deer. I'll be using my Browning 20 ga and my T/C .50 M/L here in Indiana. In Kentucky I plan to use my Ruger .270.

Re: best .50 cal. bullets? I've always use Hornady XTP .452" 250 grainers in my M/L. This type bullet in a "High Pressure" T/C sabot with 90 grains (Volume) of "777" FG gives the best accuracy in my Black Diamond .50.

AJ, I recently bought a Remington Model 673 "Guide Rifle" in .308. My question is what number Weaver Scope Base does this rifle take? Also could you suggest other brands of bases & rings other than weaver? I'd like to stick to two piece scope mounts. <Thanks, much!>

On the same level as a .30-30 or 6.5 X 54 m/m. The Carcano is not the best built rifle in the world, also you need clips inorder to chamber shells.

Re: 2 kills at once One season, I accidently shot two deer with one shot. I had an anterless tag plus a bonus deer tag with me. Well I saw a very nice Doe, while hunting on the ground, and shot her with my 12 gauge slug. Down she went, so I walked ove to field dress her; at that time I got over to her I saw some more blood further up from where the Doe lay, so I followed the blood and found a second Deer. It was smaller so I figured it was her fawn for that year. I went ahead and taged both and check them in, but I sure felt bad about what happen as I didn't even see the second Deer when I shot the first.

Re: .222 rem A few year back I bought a Sako L-46 sporter rifle chambered in .222 Rem. had a three shot detachable magazine. Like an idiot, I sold the little Sako regreating it ever since.

Re: .222 rem The .222 Remington is a GREAT little cartridge which is good for shooting around 300 yards at Varmints. My very first high-powered rifle was a Remington M-700 ADL in .222 and I shot lot of Woodchucks, crows, and Squirrels with it, including one fox. You really don't hear or see many rifle chamberd for this round nowdays. It was suppose to replace the .22 Hornet, but here in recent years there seems to be more rifle available chambered for the .22 Hornet than for the .222. Both are Good Cartridges within their limitations.

In the traditional M/L and Inlines you can only use one of the three: Black Powder, Pyrodex, or Powder like Triple "7" that contain no sulphur. NEVER USE SMOKELESS POWDER IN M/L'S OTHER THAN THE SAVAGE!!!! Even in the Savage you MUST follow loading data to a "Tee"!
